Which countries can I travel to by road from India and what is the procedure? For those who have visited another country by road, what was the experience like and were there any difficulties?

There are two routes in India that will take you to other countriesRoute 1 - India - Burma - Thailand and furtherThings to keep in mind before travelingBurma offers e-visa but only when you are traveling by air. During a road trip you need to get your visa stamped at Myanmar Embassy.Since Myanmar is not a part of ATA carnet system, your vehicle needs to have a temporary customs import permit for traveling in the country. You’ll need MMT permit to travel in Myanmar. This can be obtained through a travel agent for a fee.Start from Guwahati travel to ShillongContinue from Shillong and reach Imphal, Manipur via Jowai, Silchar and JirbamShillong to Imphal is a 500 km journey and you’ll get to experience some stunning vistas on your way.Cross India- Burma border at Moreh. Remember there is a lot of checking at Indo-Burma border due to Cocaine and Narcotics smuggling.Once you cross the border and obtain necessary documents, now you can continue till Kaley.Itinerary for your travel in MyanmarDay 1 Kale-MonywaDay 2 Monywa- MandalayDay 3 Mandalay-NaypyidawDay 4 Naypyidaw-KyaiktoDay 5 Kyaikto-Hpa-anMyanmar has a lot of amazing views to offer, you can add two extra days to your journey and take a few detours on the way.You can finally cross Burma - Thailand border at Myawaddy. I am not sure if the border check post has facilities to provide visa on arrival, so I’d recommend you to get via made before you start traveling.Final journey - Myawaddy - BangkokThis is a dream trip for every road trip enthusiast. I have been till Burma border but didn’t get a chance to travel to the other side.Happy traveling to you.You can read more about these amazing destination on my blog - Unorganised ChaosI have solo traveled across India for 400 days, you can follow all the action on my Instagram account Anshul Kumar Akhoury (@untamed_bachelor) • Instagram photos and videos

Why don't you go on road trips anymore?

I used to go motorbike touring all the time. Often to Spain (UK Plymouth to Santander ferry) to France (Dover Calais) and also Germany via Hull.I would also go around the UK a lot.I stopped going after doing my really really big road trip. This was a RTW overland trip. It took a toll on my health due to heavy drinking from Russians and Mongolians.I stopped going to Europe because my life got busier and those trips became really expensive. In my 20s those road trips were cheap vacations. Go riding around France. Petrol + food + ferry and you’d spend 2 weeks and £400.Do the same today? You’re looking at £1500+ The ferry to Spain used to be £100 each way. It’s now £350 each way and the fuel costs are insane.I can fly to Italy stay in a hotel much cheaper than this.I ride a lot less in the UK primarily because riding in the UK hasn’t been pleasant for a while. I always seem to get stuck in massive traffic jams and ache a lot more after riding for hours.

What's a good itinerary for a 2 or 3 week roadtrip around Germany, Switzerland, and Austria?

I do this often and always make the decision to spend much less time in Switzerland. Too expensive and not terribly noteworthy. I also become rather selective about where I plan to spend my time. Two or three weeks seem like an eternity until you start spending too many days going to out-of-the way locations like Neuschwanstein.Fly Open Jaw: Vienna in; Berlin out.Days 1-3. Vienna. There are great museums, castles, live music, restaurants, the Opera, and a day trip to Bratislava if you choose.Days 4,5. Salzburg. [alternative would be Zell am See for a skier]Days 6,7. Munich. Dachau, Marienplatz, etc.Days 8,9. Zurich.Days 10,11 Bacharach am Rhein. River Cruise. Rhine castle tours. Cologne Cathedral.Days 12,13. Nuremberg. Museums. Zeppelin Field. Days 14, 15. Prague. Old City tour. Dinner boat on the River. Days 16,17. Dresden and Leipzig with detour to Wittenberg or Goerlitz.Days 18-21. Berlin. Museum Island. The Wall. Obviously, destinations depend on the interests of the traveler. Most of my trips to Germany include time in Bremen, Freiburg, and Trier, which are personal favorites and wonderful cities in their own right.

My parents will not let me go on a road trip? Help?

The only advice I have are to ONE) Move Out... You probably have no other choice because parents much like yours have a reason of NEVER letting you doing anything... My friend's parents didn't let them do anything because it was against their religion, upbringing, etc...If you were to move out and live independently, YOU would be the one making the decisions for yourself ... This point is the "something" You want to hear...

Here's my REAL advice and the "somethign" YOU DO NOT want to hear:
TWO) Just accept it and Go on a Road Trip with Your Family... Because when you go with your friends some REALLY CRAZY SHIZZ happens! Like your friends ditch you for an attractive person, the people forget you at the hotel, the person is lazy and only wants to do hipster things.... This list of "What people do with others" is very tedious, long, and ANNOYING!!! Trust me, I have gone through Half of the list of possible things that could happen within a span of two years... That's why I am labelled the 'Trustworthy and Forgiving" one because as long as I get home, I'll be ok!

I think Your parents have a point to prove in not letting you go, sweetheart... Even my mother won't let me go Great Distances with my Bffs, but on the other hand... My mum is willing to go with/take me to the ends of the Earth if I asked her to...For example: I am taking my mother to Spain for her fiftieth birthday next year...And she is SO ecstatic about it !!! SO Just go on a trip with your family...

THREE)And honey, if you had ACTUALLY gone to those dances and to prom the first thing you'd realize is that all the hype is for nothing... Just three or more hours of just hanging out with your friends... If you can't do that Outside of school, then why bother with a ridiculously expensive dance with a expensive gown on..

FOUR)Also, boyfriends are just extra emotional baggage to the perfect you...You truly don't need a boyfriend.. you're beautiful for being yourself !

So in the end... you're current problem depends on the type of people your friends and your family are, the amount of flexibility you have, and the fact that MAYBE you should be asking your parents if you are previously engaged in another event that requires your presence....But if you REALLY want to go ... just ask your parents to come along and be quiet about it... Play the games by their rules and you'll always win... It always works for me

Please help me sort my USA Roadtrip!?

I have my own self converted camper van (a ford transit swb) which has been quoted at £800 to ship to USA. However I am confused as to what else I need to pay to drive for 12 months.

I need Insurance. Road tax? There is no clear answer I can find online.

Is insurance more expensive in the US for a UK license? Currently I am paying £1800 for UK annual insurance.

Which places to visit during a roadtrip between UK, Spain, Switzerland, and Germany?

Harburg Schwaben and NördlingenThe German Romantic Road is one of the biggest magnets for tourism in the southern provinces of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.Based (very) loosely on the old Roman route between the participating towns and adding in some stunning medieval locations to the north, the concept of the Romantic Road is a little bit like the British "ploughman's lunch" - a marketing idea which appears to be based on history and tradition but which is actually a much more modern invention. In the case of the Romantic Road, Germany was desperate to rebuild a tourism industry in the post-war times and the idea of the formal "route" was created in 1950 (not long after the creation of the Federal Republic of Germany and the end of the military-administered occupation). The first visitors were friends and families of the American soldiers stationed in the large bases in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg but the idea of the trail from Würzburg to Füssen soon became wildly popular. It's not too hard to see the reason for the popularity - despite the modern roots of the idea, the tour combines the historic cities of Würzburg and Augsburg with the three medieval walled towns of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, and then finishes off with the tourist highlights of Neuschwanstein Castle and the Alps.

After reaching France, they ferried their SUV through the English Channel to the Port of Dover, in England. In the whole journey, the couple exchanged some 13 different currencies, while they halted at around 40 fuel stations. They started preparing for the trip three months before they hit the road. The family that drove from Bangalore to ParisAnand, Punita, Yash (12) and Dhriti (8) drove through the Himalayas in Tibet, visited the world’s largest burning crater, swam in the largest land-locked water body (the Caspian Sea), and toured eleven countries on a shoestring budget in the year 2015.Broadly modelled on the ancient Silk Route, team L.I.F.E’s roadmap started from India and went on to Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain and finally ended at France.
