Which are the top 20 cities I should visit in Europe?

I am gonna put some smaller cities/regions here, because I assume you know the capitals and what they have to offer. As a European travelling other continents, I quickly found that I wanted to see the “real” countries, not just the capitals. Hence this list ;)(Some capitals are still there because I enjoyed them sooooo much. Disclaimer: I have never been in EU’s north, so these aren’t in the list. One of my goals.)Zaanse Schans (stay in Amsterdam), NetherlandsWachau (stay in Vienna), AustriaCinque Terre, ItalyKrakow, PolandAjaccio, Corsica (France)Dubrovnik, CroatiaIstanbul, TurkeyLiverpool, EnglandPorto, PortugalGranada, SpainBruges, BelgiumBiarritz, FrancePompeii (stay in Naples), ItalySchwarzwald, GermanyBudapest, HungaryBled, SloveniaBologna, ItalyCrete, GreeceCappadocia, TurkeySaint Petersburg, RussiaHope you can do some of them, they are great hidden and not-so-hidden gems of Europe!

If you had a month, where would you visit in Europe?

We quit our jobs and went on a 6 month trip around the world. We spent a month in Europe. I don’t think giving you specific recommendations is the right way to make sure that you have the best trip. Your preferences (do you like cities or the outdoors, etc.) will dictate where you should go. Instead, we have two high-level pieces of advice that you will hopefully find helpful. Here’s our advice to you:First: don't plan too much. Our best adventures were when we were planning no more than a week or so in advance. Whenever we planned further out than that we fell in love with the place we were currently in and regreted having to leave because of plans we had set in motion weeks earlier.Mountain-top monasteries of Meteora, GreeceCreate a rough plan for the trip. Write down the things you really want to see. And then plan to change as much as half of that plan. Buy a Euro rail pass or stick with budget airlines to give yourself cheap flexibility. Trust us - don’t plan too far ahead.Second: go places that the two-week-vacation crowd can’t go.Take advantage of the beautiful window of time you have created for yourself to go places that you couldn’t go any other time. This allows you to avoid the crowds and see truly epic things. A couple of examples:We were in the Greek islands, and while Santorini is awesome, we wanted to avoid the hordes of holidaying tourists. We pulled up a map and picked the most remote island in the Dodecanese island chain, a place reachable only via multiple ferries. We arrived on Agathonisi and had the most amazing time relaxing on effectively our own private Greek island. When visiting Norway, most people stay in the Southwest. That’s awesome, but can often be very crowded. Again we pulled up a map and decided to go as far north as we could. This is a 3 hour flight from Oslo and then a multi-hour drive from there gets you to the Isle of Senja and the Lofoten Islands. Very difficult to get to for most, within easy reach for you.Rainbows in Northern NorwayOur final recommendation: read the legendary Bill Bryson’s book Neither Here Nor There: Travels in Europe. Nothing could prepare your mind better for a wandering trip through Europe. If you’re interested in more of our expert perspective on travel:Check out our travel stories and advice on our blogFollow us on Instagram or Twitter!Follow us on Quora (below) and ask us any question you can think of!Travel love,The Traveling Professionals

What place in europe is the best to visit and why?

The capitals, for sure.

If you are going to Europe for the first time, you would be best served by visiting London, Rome, and Paris. Each capital has its merits with London being good if you don't speak any language other than English and, of course, it's filled with wonderful places to visit and a great public transport system which makes it easy to get around. Sites such as the British Museum are free to visit and then there are the typical tourist sites such as the Tower of London, the London Eye, Buckhongham palace, etc. London just exudes history and the pubs are GREAT!

Paris is an amazing city with a style all its own and many historical sites and museums to peruse. The Eiffel Tower and the Left Bank and the Notre Dame, etc. etc. are all worth seeing, as well as the Louvre.

Rome is just amazing and really easy to walk around (nothing seems too far away from anything else, with the exception of the Vatican and that is just a short bus or metro ride away). The people in Rome are much more friendly than in Paris and will be more helpful if you don't speak the language. THe Colloseum, The Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, etc etc. are all amazing. Although I'm English, I think Rome is my favorite city. The weather tends to be milder than in the other two capitals too.

If you could see just one of the above, you'll be a lucky person.

What are the best places to visit in Europe this 2019?

Spain, Poland, Romania, Croatia, and Slovenia are hot right now. But it really depends on your preferences for food, language, music, and culture. It is important you do a checklist of your budget and types of things you like to see such as architecture, museums, dance shows etc and make your decision in function of what you like best. It also depends on time of year, some places are known for their beaches and festivals at certain times others for their skiing or hiking. Once you’ve made the checklist of what you like, it will be easier for you to choose places.

What are the best countries to visit in Europe?

I've visited most countries in Europe in my 25 years of traveling there, and can safely say you won't be disappointed, no matter what you decide.
France, England, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland, and Greece are the most popular. You could pick one or two of these for your first trip. Countries in eastern Europe are just as interesting-just not as famous, but a lot less expensive. Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are good examples. Probably Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, and other Balkan states but I haven't been to them yet!
Anyway, there's been no place there I would say to skip. I'd only say to take your time in the ones you select.
