Where Would I Have Picked Up Scabies

My friend has scabies, will I get it?

A few days ago I went over to my friends house, I sat in her bed, on her floor, wore a pair of her underwear, and sat on the couch with her. Is there a good chance im gunna get it? She found out today she had it and told me when I was in the car with her. Is there any way to get rid of it before the horrible symptoms?

Can Scabies look like pimples ?

My dermatologist told me I had Scabies. I was horrified because I have excellent hygeine and I'm not poor and don't live in unsanitary conditions. I sleep with my cat that is always itching but doesn't have fleas. He reassured me that you can't get Scabies from your pets. Anyways, I have the Scabies on my back and all over my breasts and upper torso. They are hard, red bumps and alot of them have what looks like a whitehead. I squeezed some and white stuff came out that looked like what comes out of a whitehead. They scab and get crusty. Does this sound like Scabies? They are itchy but not intolerable. I also don't have them in the webs of my fingers and toes that is so common. My bf who sleeps with me shows no signs and I thought they were very catching! I have tried 3 rounds of the prescription cream and have still had these for 2 months. Is there something stronger? Also, should I boil my bedding, towels, and clothes rather than just warm water? Would tanning help?

Can scabies come back years later?

No, I've never known scabies mites to go dormant and then come back. If it's a case years after treatment then the person has picked up another case of scabies mites somewhere.Scabies can be difficult to get rid of. Promethezin is usually prescribed for it. The medication will kill the mites but it won't end the problem alone. You need to disinfect everything. Sheets, clothing, furniture, carpeting, family members etc. If not, you'll just catch it again. Diatomaceous earth is a good remedy to kill them. It can be worked into lotion or oil and applied to the skin topically. It can also be sprinkled around furniture and carpeting and even on pets. If its food grade, it can be consumed in small quantities. Consumption won't do much for scabies probably but it is healthy and it will kill any internal parasites. For the latter you might be surprised.

How do you get rid of scabies scars?

Scabies is usually spread through prolonged periods of skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, or through sexual contact. (see Scabies (STD) - Symptoms, Treatment, Testing | STD Scabies for further details)It's also possible – but rare – for scabies to be passed on by sharing clothing, towels and bedding with someone who's infected. It can take up to eight weeks for the symptoms of scabies to appear after the initial infection. This is known as the incubation period.

How long do scabies stay itching?

I know nothing about bugs. I looked up that cream on the internet and couldn't find it anywhere, are you sure that you spelled it right. Do you know that carbofed contains an antihistamine and I'm sure that you know that allegra is an antihistamine. I think you need to stop one of them. I'm not trying to scare the **** out of you and you had alot to deal with last night but the reason the CDC stated not to give antihistamines to children under the age of 4 because it can cause death. I'm sure now I've freaked you right out now but I think you should know. How's your little blinky one doing tonight, I hope she's better but you still sound very worried. All the best, Donna OK I looked it up. and success is variable, was there any delay in diagnosis and treatment but symptoms usually improve in 7- 10 days..One article said that after one week antihistamines, cream should held to check if treatment has been a success or failure. This is only a temporary break. Did anyone else in you family get infected? If she picked it up at a school or day care and there is an outbreak make sure your pharmacy has enough for you. If I could I would sent you some liquid tide because I'm sure you must have laundry piling up, all the best, takecare, Donna

Symptoms Of Scabies And What It Looks Like?

When you wrapped the donated clothing around yourself, you may have picked up fleas or lice, or maybe those were wool sweaters that simply made you feel itchy? Scabies is caused by mites that burrow in the skin, and that takes time. No burrowing, no itching, so I doubt very much that you got scabies mites from the sweaters. Scabies, which causes mange in dogs, is something you may have contracted from another, earlier source and it coincidentally started to make you itch at that time. Or, it could be some sort of allergic reaction. Have you tried OTC antihistamines? Itching and rashes can have other sources, too.

Can scabies eat holes in clothing?

my ex husband was diagnosed with scabies and thought he had gotten rid of them. my kids stayed the night and he called to let me know something ate through a blanket and ate through my daughters shirt during the night. i'm scared his house may still be infested or that it may not even be scabies and that we don't know what it is. i've never heard of scabies eating through clothing. anyone with any similar experiences would be helpful.

Can a dog catch scabies from a human?

Scabies mites cannot fly or jump, they crawl slowly instead, so the only way for them to move from one person to another is wait for the people to have extended physical contact. Holding hands can transmit scabies but typically it is not spread through a hug or a quick handshake. The disease can be quickly passed between sexual partners or household members. Shared personal items may be to blame if they are contaminated. Scabies parasites can survive outside the body for 24 to 36 hours. Scabies can be contracted through wearing clothes or sleeping in bedding that is infested. There’s an elevated risk of contracting scabies in confined environment. Such institutions as extended-care facilities, nursing homes and prisons are common sites of scabies outbreaks. Moreover, child care facilities are typical sites of infestations. You can see here to know better. Scabies (STD) - Symptoms, Treatment, Testing | STD Scabies

My husband got scabies, is he cheating?

Scabies can be picked up sexually , but it also can be picked up at work, hotels, schools, nursing homes etc. I know someone who got it visiting an elderly parent at an assisted living facility. Her mom's roommate had returned from hospital and got scabies there they think. The signs may not appear for 2-6 weeks. In any case, you should both treat yourself as it is contagious.

Does scabies show up during a blood test?

Actually, YES, there is a blood test that can confirm scabies. It is usually done when scabies is suspected, but a skin-scraping fails to reveal either a bug, or its droppings. Its not easy to locate either (the bug, or the droppings) by a skin scraping because the number of bugs on a persons body is very low (a dozen or so). People think they are covered with bugs because of the rash. But the rash is actually an allergic reaction caused by the bug droppings.
Sometimes doctors do a blood test called a "CBC with Diff". The "diff" means that the results will differentiate between the different types of white blood cells. A high number of one specific type of white blood cells can indicate scabies is present.
