Where Would You Rather Move

What would you rather do live in a nice town in an rv or move to a hellhole like Houston and live in a decent apartment?

Live somewhere else then.

Would you rather move to Mexico City or Lisbon?

I’ve visited and had fairly lengthy stays in both cities. Both places have charming locals who will make you feel home. Nonetheless visiting a place and moving there have 2 very different things and have different requirements.Though the Mexican population is very nice, the city has quite some problems which make it a less desirable place to live. Every city has good and bad parts, and though MC has some very nice areas most like thisof it is far from being an eye candy. In the architecture department Lisbon get the win, by far.The Portuguese capital has also a much better infrastructure, while in MC unpaved road are not that uncommon, many homes do not have running water, sewer systems are ineffective and drinking tap water can kill you.The difference in wages are another, hourly minimum wage in Mexico in $0.48 while in Portugal it is $3.77. Obviously, in the security department Lisbon fares much better ranking as the 259th city in the world with the most crime, while MC ranks #25.Crime Index by City 2018 Mid-YearUnless you have extra compelling reason to head to MC, Lisbon sounds like a much better option all around.

What would you rather do?

It's up to you whether or not you want to move. It sounds like you do; it sounds like you are tired of the commute. Also consider the wear and tear on your car.

It's not a commute I would be willing to make so I would move to be close to work. I would prefer the apartment in the nice complex because it is probably a safer place to live and it comes with amenities I would appreciate. You would also probably have fewer problems with your neighbors - although not necessarily - and your landlord. You would be more likely to renew a lease and stay put if you liked where you lived as well. Moving around a lot is costly.

We can't make the decision for you, of course. We can only tell you what we would like. We aren't you.

Since you will be getting out of 3 bills soon, don't go into debt again. Pay cash for everything. If you can't afford to pay cash then do without it. Nothing is worth credit card or loan debt except a house.

Would you rather live in the UK, USA or Canada?

Whichever one I had a job in that allowed me to support myself. In my experience, there are interesting things to see and do where ever you might visit or live. I've lived in several places in the US and have been in Italy for several years now, but have visited the UK and Canada (plus many other places). I have yet to find a place that I wouldn't want to go back to.

Where would you rather move for a well paying IT security job, Metro Atlanta or the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex?

Dallas! There is no state income tax, so salaries are worth more. We aren't running out of water. It is in the center of the US which makes it an easy distance to fly to either coast or the Caribbean, and it's still only about 9 or 10 hours to the UK or other countries in western Europe. The people are friendly, and we actually have better winter weather than Atlanta in my opinion.

Would you rather move to a small town or city in your country or move to an entirely new country if you were being hunted?

I would remain in my country. No because of patriotism or something like that, but because I live in Romania, and in Romania tracking people is harder than the West, also I can be caught at the border or airport so just finding myself a place in remote areas in the Carpathians is safer than trying to cross the border. There are spots in Romania where GPS and mobile traffic is close to non existent, but there is a lot of wildlife danger (a lot of bears and boars) so I need to be ready for that.

Would you rather move to Canada or Australia if you wanted or had to leave the United States?

I grew up in Canada but have spent a lot of time in Australia. This is a difficult choice. It really comes down to your preferences. A few thoughts:Weather - overall, nicer weather Down Under. Canada, particularly in the prairies and Central Canada can get nippy in winter. If you already live in the US Midwest, well, you probably wouldn’t notice a difference anyway.Culture - Canada. is. not. America. But it’s similar to the US due to proximity and exposure to US media. Australia, for all they speak English, is more culturally distinct. Edge to Canada if that’s an issueGeography - let’s face it. Australia is pretty isolated. It’s an 8-hour flight to Singapore, 13+ hours to LA, 22+ hours to London. Even flying to Auckland is 3.5+ hours. If you have family or community in the US that you want to visit regularly, Canada may be a better choice. Edge to Australia if you want to get as far away from them as possibleCost of living - the big cities in both Australia and Canada are getting expensive, particularly property prices in the big cities Vancouver/Toronto/Sydney/Melbourne. Property prices aside, I feel cost of living is more reasonable in Canada. I was surprised by how expensive everything seemed to be on my last trip to SydneyLifestyle - this definitely comes down to personal preference. Both countries are huge and diverse, so anything I say here would be a huge generalization. Both Canada and Australia are advanced economies with healthy economies and rank highly in the Human Development Index (see here: List of countries by Human Development Index - Wikipedia). They both rank highly in quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, as well as civil liberties and and political rights. Both have large cities that rank at or near the top in most quality of life surveys (Melbourne and Vancouver). All things being equal, I’d probably choose Canada due to the fact it’s not so isolated. Ask me again tomorrow, and you might get a different answer.
