Which 6 Players Have Won A Tournament In Which All 4 Members Of The Big 4 Competed In The Main Draw

How many rounds does a Grand Slam tournament in tennis, such as the US Open, have?

Thanks for the A2A. There are seven rounds in every Slam tournament, including the US Open:First Round, with 128 players (sixty-four matches)Second Round, with 64 players (thirty-two matches)Third Round, with 32 players (sixteen matches)Fourth Round, with 16 players (eight matches)Quarterfinals, with 8 players (four matches)Semifinals, with 4 players (two matches)Final, with the last two players playing for the titleBoth singles draws (men and women) have seven rounds and 128 players (32 seeds) beginning the tournament.Men's Doubles and Women's Doubles have instead only 64 pairs (16 seeds) each, so there's one less round (basically, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, QFs, SFs and F).Mixed Doubles has only 32 pairs (8 seeds), so two less rounds compared to Singles (1st, 2nd, QFs, SFs and F).

Can the best college tennis player in the US compete with Federer?

Good question :-)

There are surely some NCAA Division 1 college players who have ATP rankings, but they would not be ranked high enough to get straight into a draw with top-30 "commitment players" like Federer. Otherwise, they would not be playing college tennis, but out on the tour.

Could they hit with him and win one or two games a set? Sure. But don't expect them to beat him in a match when he's well-rested and playing in a large stadium with ball kids, TV cameras rolling, etc etc

It is very tough to try and beat somebody who's a famous, highly-ranked professional when you are neither of those things.

Also, keep in mind that the ATP has almost 2000 players in its singles rankings list:

Do tennis players pay entrance fee to join ATP tennis tournaments?

Check out Itftennis.com lots of cool info there on everything you would need to know. Look at tournament calendar. Futures and Challengers charge entry fee. Usually like 75 dollars. Each tourn will have tourn info that you can see fees for. Top tier touneys with tv and huge ticket sales wont charge for main draw, but will for qualies.

Answer below me is wrong. Yes, main draws pay, but there is still an entry fee.

Here is info on a futures pro event coming up in texas

Why is Andy Murray in the big 4 of tennis despite winning only two grand slams?

Because he’s won $40 million in prize money. That’s almost as much as Pete Sampras.I feel your question is borne out of people stupidly oversimplifying greatness-in-tennis to just the slams, ignoring the hundred other tourneys on the ATP tour.Murray is insanely consistent at gorging on the smorgasbord of these tournaments available, already more prolific at the Masters tourneys than Sampras, and a lot more rounded as a player.Yes, he’s been a little bit off the Big 3’s level, but not as much as the slam numbers will have you believe.Certainly, he isn’t 3 to Djokovic’s 13 in a tennis match. He’s only just 0.05–0.1% worse. That isn’t enough of a difference to trivialize him, because he’s still an incredibly tall man walking with giants. He’s like Jaguar Paw from the film about Mesoamerican tribesmen; ‘Apocalypto’.He’s “Almost” (a sadistic nickname spun by Middle Eye, the bloodthirsty slaver).Always just one stroke away from being the winner.A homely man caught up in a race-to-survival with martial men, who are a tad better than him at fighting.See, except for this year’s Wimbledon final with Raonic, Murray has had to play either Federer or Djokovic at the slam finals i.e. 90% of his slam finals were against a guy in the top 2.Similarily 83% of his Masters finals have come against the Big 3.So, while he may not be as good as them, we can’t just trivialize him as a player who’s as good as the rest. He’s a lot better than the rest. And, if you’re sharp, you’ll realize he’s now the second best in the world.Tennis is in a new Big 2 era, and though Novak is admittedly more than half of that, Murray’s ATP Race to London points are closer to Djokovic than the ATP Ranking points will have you believe.Rankings | Race to London | ATP World Tour | TennisLike “Almost”, he looks like he’s going to come to completion, complete with family and new kid.
