Which Basketball Courts Are Better Does It Even Matter

Does height really matter in Basketball?

Let's get to the point, I've been playing Basketball for ten years now. I am currently 16 years old, and I am 5'5 playing the sport of basketball. The reason why, I am asking this because all my life I've been hearing people tell me you're not gonna make the NBA because you're small.

Well for starters, I've never payed attention nor listened to all that crap. I am currently in 10th grade, and playing for my JV squad as the starting PG. My teamates tend to support me on a daily basis, and say I am the heart and soul of their team which I appreciate as a person tbh. I can even dunk at my current height, the variety coach even wants me to play for him next year to make the starting lineup.

Even so with all my skill, and education that I'm getting from my high school, I keep hearing people tell me that my height is going to stop me from playing on a College team let alone an NBA team with guys taller than me. Like c'mon Nate, Webb, and Bogues were all short af and made it pro. I can do it too damnit if I put my mind to it! Anything is possible in this word! Who the hell do these people think they are saying I can't do something that I put 10 years of my life into? Zero.

At least, I'm doing something meaningful in my life! Trying to be remembered from years to come, even at my death I want the world to remember my name knowing that size can't, and will never stop you! Just believe in yourself, and anything can happen! Trying my best to start Living Da Dream! The NBA!

If I practice shooting a basketball will i get better even if the rim is lower than ten feet.?

I am starting to practice shooting a basketball on a basketball rim that is 7-8 feet tall. and the regulation basketball rim is 10 feet tall will my basketball shots improve even though the rim is 2-3 feet shorter. I noticed when I started shooting at the 10 foot rim I had to make adjustments in my arc and power in my shots.

Does the weight of a basketball shoe really matter?

In my experiences, the weight of my shoe does affect my playing style. The lighter the shoe, the faster I run and higher I jump. I'm probably an inch or two shorter than if I were wearing a heavier shoe, but I much prefer the feeling of a light shoe to a heavier one.

If you were able to consistently score basketball shots from the other side of the court is it unsportsmanlike to do that for the entire game?

It's definitely not unsportsmanlike because that takes some serious skill, but not even Steph Curry could fire a shot like that without Steve Kerr pulling him.Do you know how much trust your coach and teammates have to have in you for you to even think taking that shot occasionally is a good idea? In a regulation game, make or miss, you'll be benched. Streetball or a pick up game and your teammates will freeze you out.

If someone talks trash to you in basketball, is it better to pretend you don't hear it or talk some trash back to show you are not weak?

It is always best to let your game do the talking. You don’t need to get caught up in another person’s trash talk. It’s just talk designed to get you to stop thinking about your game and instead focus on empty words.Whenever you want to respond, remind yourself that it doesn’t mean anything, don’t verbally respond, and stay focused on the game. Then, I want you to “talk” by focus on making your teammates better, playing lock down defense, crashing the boards for rebounds, and making shots.Points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and playing excellent defense matter.Talking to people on the opposing team won’t help you win.Talking to your teammates will help you be successful and win.The opposing team or player doesn’t matter. Show them how you feel through the game of basketball. Once your team wins, they will get the message. And it won’t be that you are weak.

Why do championship rings matter in basketball but not baseball?

It's easier for a great player to win a ring in basketball than it is for a great player to win one in baseball. In basketball you only need help from the other 4 players on the court. So a superstar has a 20% or more chance of winning it for his team.

In baseball a position player has 7 other position players not to mention 3 starting pitchers and a closer so a superstar has about a 8% chance of winning it for his team. So baseball is more of a team sport while basketball is an individual sport. However in basketball if you have two stars on your team your chances are much greater. Jordan had Pippen, Drexler has Olajuwon, Kobe had Shaq, etc.

Also, in football I think to much emphasisi is put on the QB. Football is even more of a team sport than baseball but people think Terry Bradshaw is one of the all time great QB's because he won 4 titles but if he was on another team he probably wouldn't have any. Is Jim Plunkett (2 titles) better than Dan Marino (0 titles)?

Who is the best shooter FROM HALF COURT in the NBA? Why?

Well, we haven't seen most players shoot from half-court on an often basis. I think its Kobe Bryant, he hit a half court shot on his first try in the Celebrity Challenge type thing during allstar weekend. He can also hit long 3s, even 35 footers on a rather consistent basis.

Is playing basketball on double rim good?

Let's start with the layups. Double rims are a bit more sensitive right? (We like to call them more "bouncy")Taking a nice easy layup on a double rim is similar to a layup off a fast break with a normal rim. It's really annoying when you come flying down the court, take-off from a few inches inside the free-throw line, raise your arm, finger-roll the ball..... and bam the ball bounces off the backboard and ricochets off the rim. It's not a bad idea to be practicing full-speed, fast break layups on a double rim. Metal backboards add to the responsiveness. For jump shots, double rims usually force you to shoot swishes. If you want swishes every single time, double rims shouldn't be a problem. However, banks will have to be perfect, or else the responsiveness of the rim will be extremely selective. But hey, in the long run, practice will improve your game. So, if you're playing basketball well, it should be fine.
