Which Christmas Songs Where Written In The Summer

Which song is your favorite classic Christmas song?

Do you hear what I hear? -Bing CrosbyHands down, I absolutely love this Christmas carol!I love the voices, the instruments that give it such a triumphant sound.I love how it incorporates a some of the wintery themes (night wind, cold, stars), and ties it back to the first Christmas as well. It doesn’t feel forced or overplayed, either. It has those nice classical tones, and it has such a positive message: a revelation passed from the lowest to the highest and respected throughout. It is a message of goodwill that I think embodies the Christmas spirit, yet it is not overtly about Jesus or the nativity. This, I think, makes it a song for everyone.Lyrics:Said the night wind to the little lamb,Do you see what I see?Way up in the sky, little lamb,Do you see what I see?A star, a star, dancing in the nightWith a tail as big as a kite,With a tail as big as a kite.Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,Do you hear what I hear?Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,Do you hear what I hear?A song, a song high above the treesWith a voice as big as the sea,With a voice as big as the sea.Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,Do you know what I know?In your palace warm, mighty king,Do you know what I know?A Child, a Child shivers in the coldLet us bring him silver and gold,Let us bring him silver and gold.Said the king to the people everywhere,Listen to what I say!Pray for peace, people, everywhere,Listen to what I say!The Child, the Child sleeping in the nightHe will bring us goodness and light,He will bring us goodness and light.Amen.

Are there any winter themed songs that aren't labeled as Christmas music?

Many winter songs with nothing to do with Christmas have been absorbed by the Christmas theme, such as Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells, Its Cold Outside and Let it Snow. There are a few songs with no reference to Christmas, cold or winter that have become Christmas standards. East 17’s Stay Another Day was a hot at Christmas and, despite having no other Yuletide links, appears on many Christmas albums. Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s song The Power of Love (possibly the only love song ever to cite the Hooded Claw from the Perils of Penelope Pitstop) blatantly hit the commercial zeitgeist by unashamedly having a video of the nativity. It too appears on Christmas albums with not right to be there. So back to the question. There are a few wintery songs that haven’t been absorbed into Christmas, although that does tend to happen. While summer songs last all season, and are played all year, winter songs have a shorter shelf life.New Years Day - U2Hazy Shade of Winter - Simon and GarfunkelCalifornia Dreamibg - The Mammas and the PappasDecember ’63 (Oh What a Night) - The Four SeasonsWinter Kills - YazooFrosty the Snowman - variousKate Bush has an entire album dedicated to snow songs, 50 Words for Snow, which includes the very strange Misty, a song about a girl who builds a snowman who comes to life, like Frosty the Snownan, but in Kate’s version they have sex!

Why do people talk about christmas music in the summer?..?

If you are a teacher thinking of doing a Christmas play, or the conductor of a choir doing a Christmas concert, you have to think about what music you will be rehearsing.
I sing in a choir, and we are learning the music for our Christmas concert already.

Christmas songs recommendations (of the classics)?

I've heard a lot of Christmas songs (especially the classic ones) on the radio and public places, but I don't know the title of each song.

I need to know the title of each song (of my favorites) so I can find them online to download them and hear them on youtube.

So can anyone please tell me the recommendations by naming the title of each song (of the classics)? Please list them as many as you could.

What is a modern Christmas song (last 30 years) that has become a holiday classic?

Attempting to predict a classic anything is as exact a science as predicting the weather. There are some general clues, like something from a movie or a well-written song by a well-known pop star are factors, but the will of the public is fickle so it’s mostly a guess. On that note (although I personally dislike the song), “All I Want for Christmas is You” is the most likely, largely based on its being prominent in the movie Love Actually. Before I close, I want to make a small commentary about supposed Christmas songs. I say supposed, because they are played during the Christmas Season but aren’t about the holiday at all. Let me give you some examples:Jingle Bells: Quite simply, the song is about how much fun it is to ride in a sleigh in Winter… until you get to the second and third verses. The horse got stuck in a snow bank, so the driver and his date were dumped out. Later, the narrator fell in a snow bank and somebody in a sleigh drove up, laughed at him, and drove away. Christmas Songs – Jingle BellsWinter Wonderland: Let’s have fun in the snow, we’re having fun in the snow, we had fun in the snow.Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer: This fits in the category, Christmas sucks, so let’s make fun of it! I won’t dignify it by posting a link.I Want to go Skating with Willie: I heard this at Macy’s during the Christmas season not too long ago. Willie is a real great skate. That about sums it up. If you have a dirty mind, it could mean so much more.Baby it’s Cold Outside: Straight from the headlines, one person is trying desperately to get lucky and while the other isn’t so sure (message to all you single people out there, desperation is ugly!) The song might take place in the Winter, or perhaps Spring or Fall, or even on a Summer day that’s unusually cold. In this video, the choreography is a little disturbing; you almost wish the girl was packing mace. The one thing these “classic” Christmas songs have in common is that they don’t mention Christmas. For that matter, there is no Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, drummer boy, angels, or anything remotely about the holiday. They’re mostly Winter activities or things you can do inside when its cold outside.Merry… uh, Happy…no, Felice… uh,uh, I got it - Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah!
