Which Coat Is Better In Your Opinion

Which small dog is better in your own opinion, a Cocker Spaniel or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel?

I grew up with an American Cocker prior the inbreeding and exaggeration of coat that brought some genetic issues and a coat that is miserable to manage. The average mother, even if she doesn't work ,will have trouble keeping up with it between professional grooming sessions. In contrast the English Cocker is a little larger but is still in working form and healthier as a breed. As a trainer I've found both to be loving and good family dogs. The Cavalier King Charles Soaniel is in the Goya paintings of the 1400s and changed little before being accepted into the AKC, some years ago, about the time Nancy Reagan got one when her husband was president. Like many breeds, the effect of acceptance into AKC spelled the beginning of a long, genetic downturn. Because the breed instantly surged in popularity — anyone looking for a sweet, toy dog immediately considered the Cavalier. That brought the puppy farms and quick buck sellers out and they’ve been taking in the money ever since. The moral of the story is to buy a dog you love as long as you research, the way you would a child caregiver for your child, and be open to what breeders say about who the best owners are of her breed. All small dogs benefit from socialization that occurs between 3–8 weeks, before you bring them home. So look for a breeder that exposes the puppies to grooming, larger dogs, cats and children, at minimum.

What is your opinion of the FURminator?

It works perfectly for my pets! I have 2 DSH cats and a lab/pit mix. It has saved my life! OK, maybe not quite that dramatic but it has improved my life tremendously.

Although my pets are not big time shedders, I hated finding hair everywhere. I bought a Dyson Animal (also highly recommended!) and vacuumed everyday. I admit, it was annoying, especially when most people only vacuum once or twice a week.

I decided instead of my daily almost 2 hour vacuuming routine, I would get to the "root" of the problem.

I first bought an imitation Furminator brush, to save like $20. What a piece of garbage! I returned it and bought the original Furminator. OMG! What a dream come true! I purchased another one soon after wards so that I would have a dog one and a cat one - I also use their shampoos and conditioners.

I could totally do commercials for this product! I rarely ever see any fur around my home, even on their beds! I brush them once or twice a week...well I am not brushing my dog daily because it is easier to find ticks on him with a brush because he is black. I know it's working for long term as well because less and less hair comes out each time!

I highly recommend this product but don't accept imitations!

Edit to add: Check out Amazon.com or Ebay.com for this product. I bought mine from a pet store but later found them on these sites for way less!

Should I Duracoat? Need opinions please.?

have you thought about parkerizing as well? you parker it first and then apply the gun coating. basically what parkerizing does is build up crystals on the surface that allow the gun to hold oil better. its a very thin coating but does take work and in the end is also a super tough finish. i have done two rifles like that and both turned out really nice. btw, parkerizing is often used on older guns because it fills in pits and stuff. if you want to just leave the parkerizing uncolored then you need to know the two different effects of the two different types. there is manganese phosphate solution that finishes out a charcoal color and is a light to medium coat. there is zinc phosphate which finishes out quite a bit lighter. it is also a heavier coating. but either way if you want to color it you still can. the reason i suggested parkerizing is again because it fills in a lot of stuff like pits and gouges and what not. it ends up fairly rough. not a smooth finish like the guns originally came with. if you know what a remington 700 sps is, the finish is about like that. but if there is not a lot of scratches and gouges in your mosin then duracoat will do you very good. highly corrosion resistant. gun koat is about the same quality so either one will work. keep in mind though you still have to perform regular maintenance with any of these finishes. the difference would be you dont have to do it as often.

What is your opinion of toggle coats vs pea coats? Specifically on men?

Soo I've been shopping for a winter jacket and I am split between a traditional pea coat and a toggle coat. I am wondering what your opinion of toggle coats are.. I think some look a bit tacky, but some pull it off really well... but the button pea coat is also a classic look so I'm kind of split.

Is there a difference in occasion? What's your opinion?

Here's an example of the two:

What are the top 5 turkish leather brands in your opinion?

The first brand that comes into my mind when build quality is considered is Matraş (http://matras.com). They do not have a lot of stores like some of the well-known brands such as Derimod or Desa but I do know that their products are very high quality. Please take this suggestion with a grain of salt as I did not provide this suggestion based on solid evidence but mostly word of mouth.

Best brand of dog shampoo(in your opinion)?

I use a vet recommended shampoo, called sebelux, it's good for dogs with oily and sensitive skin... in a crunch however I will use an oatmeal based shampoo... because it's gentle on their skin.
