Why does India recruit Gurkhas into their army?

The Indian Army has been recruiting the Gorkhas from a long time dating back to the British Indian Army. These Short Heighted Men from the Hilly Country of Nepal are well known for their Loyalty,Courage, and Humbleness. Having spent their starting of life in the Hills that make the Indian Borders they are well acclimized to the Weather and Altitude as well as the Region. This proves to be a Huge Advantage when it comes to War in the area. The storiesof their Qualities are known far and wide. Right from the First and Second World War. Even a Leader such as Adolf Hitler has said “Give Me The Gorkhas And I Will Conquer The World”. Such is their Glory. They have proven it even during the 1999 Kargil War when the 11th Gorkha Regiment Created History in Golden Words. At the Hands of Capt.Manoj Kumar Pandey, He himself captured 3 Pakistani Bunkers and Eliminated 8 Enemies in close quarters even though suffering griveous injuries and later succumbed to death. He was Posthumously Awarded the Param Veer Chakra. As Feild Marshal.Sam Manekshaw quoted “If you see a Dancing Gorkha or a Fighting Gorkha,It’s Either Welcome or Death, There’s No Middle Way”.“Jai Maa Kali,Ayo Gorkhali”.Yours Dearly

Which is the most badass and feared regiment of the Indian Army?

Gurkhas are incredible, and relentless BADASSES in fact, badassoftheweek.comhas published 4 weekly badasses who were gurkhas, including:Lachhiman Gurung - Gurkha soldier who held off 200 Japanese with just one arm.Bishnu Shrestha - One Gurkha who fought off 40 train robbers, killing 3, wounding 8.Dipprasad Pun - Gurkha soldier who fought off 30 Taliban with a machine gun and grenades.and most badass of all:4. Bhakti Thapa - 74 year-old Gurkha who charged into battle with the Chinese, Sikhs, and British armed with a kukri knife and a double-barreled shotgun.(those were all taken from their Badass of the Week mentions.)they all received victoria crosses (british equivalent to Medal of Honour) as have 22 other Gurkhas out of only 1358 ever awarded. The Navy SEALs have only received 5 Medals of Honor out of 3514 awarded. You don’t see Navy SEALs beating dozens of attacking taliban to death with a tripod (yes, a freaking TRIPOD this actually happened) so, yes Gurkhas absolutely no contest whatsoever.p.s I found this answer on Quora written by Jonathan Cribbs when he was asked to compare Gurkhas and US Navy Seals. He is actually from Washington (U.S)

What do Pakistanis think about Nepal/Nepalese?

First off, unfortunately with all the travels I've already done, I haven't visited Nepal yet. It is however high on my bucket list. So what do I know about Nepal and her people:Doing my undergrad studies in Pakistan had some Nepali medical students in the university. Super friendly people I would say. Very humble and down to earth.Had chance to meet more Nepali in UAE and some in Scotland. Again same trait. Humble and down to earth. Even the British Gurkha soldiers, famous for their centuries of bravery but not an ounce of pomp in them.Met some Professors from Nepal in Cyprus few years back. Same story again. All very respectful when I told them I don't drink but were a fun company when even drunk. Interestingly the female colleagues wouldn't drink in public. Oh and I still remember one very interesting exchange of one of the senior Professors when an Indian colleague said “we are same after all”, to which she replied, “we are Hindu for sure but please we aren't same so please stop interfering in our country".Plus one common theme I've noticed with almost all of the exchange is when they find out you are from Pakistan and how excited they get to meet you since you are apparently from only country in SAARC which doesn't take BS from India. It is a pity what Indian interference there does including the stifling blockades it caused and the audacity to influence their new constitution. On other side, Nepal has stood with Pakistan great many times. And recently a Sharpa won Pakistan's heart by saving life of a Pakistani climber when he easily could take the way out.Respect for the Nepal and Nepali people. Hope to see the cradle of mountains and beautiful Hindu and Buddhist temples soon.P.s. Nepali can apparently speak broken Urdu! That can be fun to converse in :)
