(A) The day when first Official Cricket match played. Its totally fair option. First day when cricket got started. (B) The day when ICC formed. No, I don't think so, because ICC is for cricket. Cricket is not for ICC. ICC is just a care taker, and not Mother or Father of game. (C) A birthday of the player who is the reason for cricket becoming popular among non-cricket playing nations. In this category Sachin would be a biggest nominee because he has played both major formats more than anyone else. He has joined many new lacs of hearts with the game. Because of him Indians started to love cricket and cricket became religion there. After becoming cricket religion in India, ICC got rich and could able to pump cricket in non-cricketing nations. Better technology & better equipments could also had possible. One female cricketer Lisa said recently that we need a personality like Sachin to raise the status of women-cricket. Sachin has motivated lots of other cricketers in his career apart from general public. He was also official Brand ambassador of World Cup 2011. But still somethings are not in favor. Like- He hasn’t retired yet. Its awkward to dedicate cricket day to a man’s birthday who is still playing. That can be a reason behind that why Bharat Ratna award has not been awarded to Sachin yet. Second thing, lot of cricket has been already played before Sachin’s arrival to international cricket. In my opinion we can dedicate this day to that man who made initial-rules of the game. I had a horrific experience when I listed cricket as my hobby. So here it goes.Interviewer sees cricket as my hobby and his eyes light up as if he had prepared for the chance to ask this question.Then he asks:Interviewer : 2 batsmen are batting on the crease, where the batsman on strike is on 98 and in non-striker’s end is on 97 . 3 runs needed to win. Can both of them reach their century?Me: Yes Sir, the batsman on strike takes 2 runs in the last ball of over gets to his century and the next ball the other batsman strikes a boundary to win the game and complete his century.Interviewer: No no they are in the last over then what?Me (after lot of thinking): Yes Sir, the batsman on strike tries to take 3 runs but gets run out while taking the 3rd run so he gets to his century , gets out and other batsman is on strike now, now he can hit a boundary to get his century and win the game.Interviewer: No no it’s the last wicket then what?Me (after lot of thinking) : No Sir I don’t think that’s possible. I had got frustrated up till that point because he was altering conditions time and again as he wanted a particular answer.Interviewer: It is possible (as if he had won a duel against me).The batsman on strike now takes 3 runs but one of those 3 runs is a short run so he gets 2 runs and is on the other end of pitch with his century and then the other batsman strikes a boundary and team wins and he gets to his century.Be prepared for some of this mind boggling questions if you write cricket as your hobby!

If death is what curtailed their career, Archie Jackson certainly has the shortest career. He died at the age of 23, and played only 8 test matches for Australia. He was considered by many to be as good as or better than Don Bradman.
