Which Ear Should I Get My Catilage Pierced And Also Does It Hurt

How much does it hurt to get your cartilage pierced?

Thanks for the A2A!  You've got some good responses.  I'll just add my two cents.Pain is highly relative.  Some people will say something hurt a great deal, and some will say it barely hurt at all.  Cartilage ear piercings hurt a little more than lobe piercings.  If you've had your lobes pierced, think of the cartilage  piercing hurting just a little more.  It's a sharp, quick pinch that turns into dull ache. There are definitely more painful things.  The nose hurts a little more.  Having suffered some mishaps and ouches, and being a sufferer of chronic pain, I'll make a few comparisons.  Cartilage piercings hurt more than a shot, but less than a bad cut.  The ache is far less than the ache of wisdom tooth removal, but more than jamming your finger (without bones breaking). In general, cartilage piercings are one of the least painful body mods.  Long story short: If you aren't good with pain, it's going to hurt.  If you are, it'll hurt less.  The best way to limit the pain is to be pierced by a professional piercer, and without the gun.  The piercing needle makes a clean, neat cut.  The gun rips your flesh.  Having been through both, I vote for the needle.  It is by far safer, too.  Take an ibuprofen and Tylenol (paracetamol) 20 minutes before getting pierced.  Both control the pain, the ibuprofen helps with swelling.Good luck!

Which ear should I get my cartilage pierced?

I have two normal piercings on my left ear, and one on my right. Which ear should I pierce my cartilage and not have it look weird? Also, if I were to pierce my left ear (that has two normal piercings) should I have a second piercing on my right ear?

How bad does a cartilage piercing hurt from 1 to 10?

If the way the piercing will feel is your greatest focus, then you might not be ready for it. Far more relevant is whether you have the savvy and financial resources to locate and go to a qualified professional, and the patience to provide appropriate aftercare for it during the subsequent months of healing. It is far more likely to be more painful should you let someone pierce it who is unprofessional (including someone with a gun—even if you pay for the service).I’ve had piercees say that it is just a 1, others would say 50, and some might say higher. BUT, if you go to a skillful piercer, the procedure will be very brief—a matter of moments. And, the sensation of getting pierced should begin to fade as soon as your jewelry is in place. For a few minutes afterward you might experience burning, stinging, or warmth—and a sense of accomplishment, of course. In the end you may perceive nothing more serious discomfort.Pain is a very charged topic, and because it is subjective, even the most in-depth discussion leaves much to the imagination. Many people are concerned about being able to tolerate the pain they expect to feel during a piercing. This dread is a common reason people decide against getting one, even when they truly want it.It is much easier to endure an instantaneous pain than one that continues for an extended period of time. The brief sensation experienced as a “pinch” can turn into “stabbed by an ice pick” at the hands of a less accomplished piercer, so choose wisely!

Which ear should i get my cartilage pierced?

Choose the side that you don't sleep on at all or most of the time.
For example for me, I chose my left ear because I mostly sleep on my right. :)
Hope this helped!
& I just got mine pierced, and it didn't hurt much!

What should you do if your cartilage piercing hurts? How can it be treated?

How old is the piercing?Cartilage piercings are a little tricky - they take forever to 100% completely heal.. I mean sometimes even over a year for it to be completely healed, especially your ear cartilage.I've had mine for over a decade, and if I sleep on it wrong, or get hit (training martial arts) it'll  still get hurt and be painful for a while. There isn't any real treatment, I'd say. If it's a newer piercing, I'd say keep an eye out for infection. Antibiotics will help with that, but if it's more or less healed and painful from being snagged or irritated, really, all you can do is wait it out.

Cartilage piercing is hurting so bad!!?

I got my cartilage pierced last week, but it hurts still! It's swollen to where the bar can't move apart from twisting it around! It's red, warm and has a slight throbbing pain to it. What should I do?
i'e been able to sleep on the pierced ear since day 4 with no pain from the pressure. Could this have contributed to the pain?
I would really like professional advice because I feel it's gonna make the problem more easier if proper piercers help out.

It is a simple cart piercing done with a needle and I use sss for it.

I literally just had to loosen the ball off and try and squeeze some pus out but nothing came ou and I nearly cried.

It took me 15 minutes to try and get the ball back on because the area became so sore and swollen that I had to kneel down and take a bunch of deep breaths before trying again!
The bar is so short now that it is not moving at all! I can' t see any bar and I just cleaned and found blood!

It is throbbing so mich right now. It's making my ear look deformed from the amount of swelling!

Please help me!

Which side (ear) should i get my cartilage piercing?

No side means your gay, not even your left lolz. I had mine done on my left, i was thinking about having both but i thought that would look kinda weird as i have my lobes done twice. Just pick a side which you think would look better and go for it =]
