Which Fish Should I Get For My 125g

What fish should I get for my small fish tank that sits in the window and the water warms to 30C/86F during the day? I have a small 19L/5 gal. tank that I mounted on my windowsill with a filter and aerator.

I would go with some tetras or guppies. If you get guppies, they will quickly overpopulate that tank. They are livebearing fish who will spit out a hundred babies every few weeks. They will end up eating their babies if they are overrun though.Tetras on the other hand rarely breed in captivity, but they wont be happy unless they are in a large group. Five to ten of them would do ok in that tank but they may get a little over crowded since they like to move around a lot.Either way you will want some underwater plants in there for them to swim around in. These plants will do well in the sun, if they grow a lot that will just be more hiding places for the fish. One problem you will run into with a tank in the sunlight is algae buildup. For this you can find a small plecostamus or algae eater to put in there. The problem with them is that they will quickly become too big for That tank.Another choice would be snails. These quickly breed and overrun a tank. It will get out of control fast, even if you just get one of them somehow it will breed. I would go against that unless you had something to control them.Another choice would be a crab. There are little red crabs or mini lobsters that you could get that are pretty cool, but I would go with a couple fiddler crabs because they are just fun to watch. They are savage beasts though, they eat everything. Even your fish. They go great with guppies though because they will keep the population down. They like to uproot plants though, but the plants will survive in many cases. They like to have access to open air too, so some steps up to the surface in the middle of the tank would be good for them. If you arrange a tank for fiddler crabs with a decoration in the middle for them to climb you could go without plants. So, with all that in mind, I would say go with 2 fiddler crabs. Then a decoration that will sit in the middle of the tank that they can climb and have access to the surface without escaping. After that get 2 male guppies and two female guppies. If the crabs dont get them before they breed then you will end up with a pretty self sustaining little ecosystem that you will just need to sprinkle fish flakes into every few days.

125 gallon fish tank?

You can keep 1 flowerhorn in this tank. I know it doesn't sound like enough, but these guys are just about the most aggressive fish available. If you can manage to work out a mating pair, than you can keep 2, but even then you still might need a divider for when they aren't getting along.

If you want more fish in this tank you should choose calmer varieties that will split the tank better - there are many available when dealing with a tank this size.

How much should I sell my fish for?

Fish, like anything else, are only worth what someone will pay for him. How big is it, if it's too large for a 125? Must be huge.
I'd start with a pet store (not petsmart or petco, though) that specializes, or sells only fish and fish related items. If possible, take a picture of it to them, tell them how large it is and ask them if they'd buy it and for how much. This is definitely no indication, though of how much it is worth.
A friend of mine sold her fish back to a fish shop when it outgrew it's tank. They paid her 30 and sold it for 200. You can ask them how much it is worth if you sold it privately. (I'd go to at least 2 shops, they're all different). You could get an idea from them. It depends on how interested they are in that type and size of fish. If they can accomodate it, they might just want it to keep for display, and maybe you'll get more for it that way.
Also, if you check enough shops, you just might come across one who has a customer that is already looking for such a fish, which might get you a little more.
I don't think this is a common occurence, so it's not like you can check the ads and see what others are selling for, but you have to start somewhere.

Can you put betta fish together in the same tank?

Yes, you can put two or more betta fish together, but you must follow some rules to prevent not only duels-to-the-death but the more common bullying.Male & MaleDon’t put two males together. They will fight until one is dead. If this is your idea of entertainment, please leave the fish-keeping hobby. Don’t do this combination!Female & FemaleYou can put two or more females together, but this is something that must be done cautiously. If you put more than two females together, then you must introduce the same number at the same time. If you want to have three females, you must introduce them all at the same time. If you add 1 + 2, then there will be bullying of the one. Consider these possibilities:1 + 11 + 1 + 12 + 2Anything other than 1 + 1 requires a tank that is already “cycled” to accept a load of three fish. If you have no filtration system, then a tank with three female bettas would require a 30 gallon tank. (A heater, a lid, and a few other common aquarium items would still be necessary). Don’t combine 1 + 2 female bettas.Male & FemaleYou can put a single male and single female together without fighting. It’s the breeding that would ensue eventually that would overwhelm your skills as a beginner aquarist. Don’t do this combination unless you’ve had a couple of years of success with keeping an aquarium. And don’t breed bettas if you haven’t read extensively about the needs of the pair and their offspring. Breeding is not for beginners or people who think it would “be fun” to breed them. Don’t do the male + female (breeding) combination until you have experience.

What fish should I get for my 125 gallon freshwater community tank?

Have you considered a mix of different African cichlids? With 125 gallons, you can probably stock around 40–50. Check out the compatibility chart though because different cichlids have different aggression levels. Other than that, enjoy the colour!

Arowana 125 gallon fish tank size?

125 gallon is a bit tight when they start getting to there maximum size but to start off with it would be a comfortable fit as long as you realise that you'll need something along the lines of 8x3x2 to accommodate it at full growth. If you want it to reach its full potential
My first ever fish was housed in a 5x2x2 back in the 70's unfortunately for me it met with an accident before I'd reached the decision to rehouse it but at 20in it was becoming obvious that something larger was needed.

What kind of fish can I put in a 1000 gallon aquarium?

Any of the following options will work, or you could mix and match using the volume necessary per fish I provided. Note that I picked fish that grow bigger, they should be a bit better for your large tank.Four or five arowanas (~250g per fish).66 fancy goldfish (15g per fish).55 or so silver dollars (9g per fish).17 koi fish (60g per fish).About seven or eight motoro stingrays (~125g per fish).Seven or eight bala sharks (~125g per fish).Around 50 angelfish (~20g per fish).375 or so rainbowfish (~3g per fish).I highly recommend this Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor for all your stocking and filtration calculations.Hope it helped.

Fish stand sold at petco and petmart or walmart reliable?

The stands at these pet shops are reliable, these stands have codes they have to be built by, and inspections passed before they are alowed to be sold at a store. Unless you weigh 300+ lbs and can place your weight evenly across the whole stand (this is what your new tank will weigh when filled) it will act 'woobly'. Just make sure you get a stand that is certified for use with your sized tank.
