Which Graphics Card Should I Go With For Gaming

Is 512MB graphics card good for gaming?

The amount of video memory isn't a direct indication of a card's performance level, the card MODEL is what matters. For example, a 512MB Radeon HD 5670 is 4X faster than a 1GB Radeon HD 5450.

That said, most entry-level gaming cards these days have at least 1GB of video memory and BF3 is one of the toughest games out there, it uses more video RAM than most titles. No graphics cards which come in 512MB models would be good enough for BF3. Even the best 512MB cards like the GeForce GTS 450 or Radeon HD 6750 would only run acceptably at very low screen resolutions, like 1366x768 or lower.

Limesticks is right, you'd want at LEAST a Radeon HD 6770 to play BF3. That could play easier games like Call of Duty:MW2, Rift or WoW on max settings, but only medium for BF3. To play BF3 well on high settings requires at least a Radeon HD 6850 or GeForce GTX 460.

Again... the card model is what really matters, not the amount of memory.

Your 3.2Ghz Core i3 processor is fine for playing BF3 on high settings, but for maxed you'd want a Core i5.

What gaming graphics card should i get for my p2-1334 HP desktop?

im getting this computer soon i plan on gaming with it mostly minecraft and MW2 at some point what graphics card should i get for it considering the one built in it is not to great. thanks in advance

What Graphics Card should i get for a minor gaming pc?

Im building a PC and i want it to have somewhat usable gaming power, but thats not the computers primary function. Im not going to be overclocking and im not going to be playing for more than 2-2.5 hours at a time, so overheating shouldn't be an issue.

the computers planned specs are:
ASUS 880g Micro ATX motherboard with Crossfire and GPU boost (not really useful as it only has 1 PCI-e slot)
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T black edition 3.2 GHz Processor
4gb DDR3 Ram (i will be slowly upgrading it)

I need to know a good, but not to expensive or hot running graphics card, im not able to buy it right away as im on a budget and will have to use the onboard graphics for a while, im looking in the price range of $100 or under but if needed i might be able to go up to $150.

any suggestions? as i said there is only 1 pci-e slot so no dual slot cards.

Which graphics card should I buy for 1080p ultra/high gaming for atleast 3/4 year?

Fifteen years or more back, two things happened which - depending on your outlook - was either a good thing or a bad thing for PC gaming. Firstly, console gaming exploded into the mainstream and once they became sufficiently powerful, they became the gaming hardware of choice for many gamer’s around the world, especially for casual gamers on a budget. As the console market grew exponentially, game developers realised that this was where the cash was and consequently, games that used to be developed for PC first (before being ported to consoles), were now developed for consoles first and ported to PC second.Secondly, this had huge ramifications on gaming PC hardware requirements because any game coded for a console first meant that any port to the PC was going to be gimped and nothing more than a glorified, tuned up hi-res version of the original console game. The knock on effect of this progression has meant that near constant upgrading of PC hardware is no longer necessary, because cutting edge games which might push a console to it’s limit are not even going to come close to pushing a decent gaming PC.The upside is that a decent gaming PC now will last you years and in answer to your question, if you are looking at buying a decent GPU, then my advice is always the same - go for the best you can afford. At this moment that is an Nvidia GTX 1080.Assuming the rest of your system is relatively decent, a GTX1080 (or even a GTX980) will easily see you through the next 3, 4 even 5 years at 1080 resolution. This is simply because unless the game is a PC exclusive, 99% of games will not remotely push your system (unless the modders bring out resource consuming 4K texture packs etc., in which case, even a GTX1080 won’t be enough for ultra settings at full clip).

What graphics card would be best for gaming on my Gigabyte G41M- Combo motherboard?

I now currently only have Intel G41 Express chip-set (internal) I don't know much about graphics cards so i dont know which ones my motherboard will support or not. So please guys advice on which one to go for? My budget is below £50 for buying the graphics card to play games like MW3, etc. I'm also upgrading my ram to get a total of 8GB(DDR3). Any link with a graphics card that will work with my motherboard will be much appreciated. (an eBay link would be a lot helpful). Please also mention how much power supply is need and whether my motherboard will provide sufficient power for running a better graphics card.

Here's what i searched, please let me know if it will work with my motherboard and if will will be able to play decent games like MW3, King of fighters XIII with it.

In gaming, which is most important, RAM or graphics card?

Well, definitely a graphic card.Your graphic card is the one that does the rendering work, RAM is just there to keep the data available for the CPU and GPU to access. Nowadays usually you get 6-8 gigs of RAM installed in a decent laptop. Even a 4Gb RAM is sufficient if you’re not into 2k or 4k gaming. But if you buy a Graphic card that itself has a memory of 4Gb, then of course you will need atleast 6Gb of RAM for it. But even if you increase this limit to, say 16Gb, you won’t notice much of a difference in gaming. Your frame rate would hardly increase by 2–5 fps.Now CPU on the other hand is equally important with the graphic card. You might install a GTX 1060 6Gb graphic card, have 8Gb of RAM and installed an i3 processor, still you wont be able to get the best out of your system. The GPU is way too powerful that your CPU. In this config, your CPU would be running at 100% with somewhat 60% of RAM usage and about 40–50% of GPU usage. So you need to see that this doesn’t happen. A system can take care of itself if the RAM is less, but it just cannot handle a slow processor. As it will take the whole system down with itself.

What Graphics card should I go with my setup?

Hi Austin
The EVGA GTX 970 4GB is the obvious choice as its the faster and more powerful gpu, however theres a price premium with this card and that's around £60 more than the ASUS GeForce GTX 960 Overclocked 4GB
theres also the cpu to consider and although the FX6300 is a capable cpu it would be better suited with the ASUS GeForce GTX 960 Overclocked 4GB and theres less chance of any bottlenecks ( as the GTX970 is much better balanced with the GTX970 )
put it this way a gaming pc with a 6 core cpu and a GTX960 would be a formidable system that will run games such as fallout 4 and gta5 at high detail settings ( up to 1080p ) .... however it wouldn't be ideal for 4k but most of us game at 1080p
I hope this helps Austin .. any questions let me know
good luck !

Is 256mb graphic card is enough for gaming purpose?if not then which type of games i can't play?

if you have a dedicated graphics card then your PC RAM has nothing to do with your graphics. hence the word "dedicated". of course a 256mb card will be faster than a 128mb card of the same type. however, the amount of RAM on your card does not mean its speed. some 128mb cards are faster than other 256mb cards. this is nothing new but there are other deciding factors that make graphics cards higher quality and faster. graphics cards use a GPU (graphics processor unit) the same as your motherboard uses a CPU. if you dont' have a dedicated graophics card then your computer has to utilize some of the RAM on your PC to support video functions. you may notice that you will have 1gig of memory but the system may detect less. its because some of it has been borrowed to be used for video.
a good rule of thumb with any computer hardware is you get what you pay for. more RAM is good, yes, but not the deciding factor. try and get one with a high core and clock frequency. go to Newegg.com and look at all the cards they have and read the reviews for each. you will notice some have tons of great reviews. well thos would be good candidates wouldn't they?

Is the Nvidia MX 150 a good graphics card for moderate gaming on a laptop?

By Moderate Gaming if you mean games like CS:GO , League of Legends , Dota , Rocket League then this is quite literally the best bang for the buck.It is strictly for 720p Gaming on the latest titles at good settings.I went to a couple of site to check out the prices of MX 150 Laptops and I found the cheapest one at around INR 44000 which I think is the best one , I would not suggest you invest more than 50k in a MX 150 laptop since it will become obsolete in a year or two and because you cannot upgrade you graphics card on a laptop, you are stuck with this forever. But if you can squeeze your budge a little bit more , around 10 to 15k more and wait for sale on flipkart you can get yourself a laptop with GTX 1050 or if lucky even GTX 1050Ti which is leaps and bounds better than MX 150.In my opinion any laptop with a 1050Ti is the best budget gaming laptop since you can play AAA games of 2017 at medium to high and even ultra at 1080p.It runs cooler, it is sort of future proof and has enough Dram to push 2017–2018 games at playable frame rates. To answer your original question, Yes, MX 150 is best for light to moderate gaming.
