Which Historical Tv Series Or Movies Do You Recommend

Asian Yuri tv series/ movies to recommend?

I've watched spider lilies and saving face and i loved them! I'm looking for a yuri tv series right now so that i won't feel that it's too short and be disappointed when i'm done watching....

Historical tv series to watch?

I would most definitely recommend The Tudors (Showtime/ on Netflix). This is one of my all time favorite shows, following Henry the Eighth and his relationship with Anne Boleyn among other things. It is set around 1532. Another great series is Master's of Sex (Showtime), based in 1957. It follows the studies of Dr. William Masters and Virginia Richardson, two researchers in human sexuality. Mob City (TNT) is based in 1946 and centers on the mob scene in Los Angeles. Black Sails (Starz) set in 1715, is about pirates in the Bahamas.
Hope you like one of these!

Historical romance movies or tv series recommendations?

I'm in the mood to watch some historical romance movie. I really liked Washington Square (1997), The Piano (1993), Swept from the sea (1997), Tess of the d'Ubervilles or Mexican TV series Corazon Salvaje. Could someone me recommend something similar? It can be an older movie (preferably not older than 1990). English, Spanish, French or from any other country - that doesn't matter. I prefer the plot were the main characters have opposite personalities or opposite social positions. Thanks in advance!

List of historical celtic tv shows or movies?

To start with, anything about King Arthur or Merlin is Celtic. Arthur was a Briton. His people became the Welsh and the Bretons, There are too many arthurian movies to list. This one is often forgotten but it is a classic:

Irish legends have generated more than a few:

The Highlander films of course.

Disney didn't just do the Sword And the Stone about Arthur, they adapted Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydein into the Black Cauldron -- a movie which stinks. I don't recommend it.

Roar starring the late Heath Ledger was a decent TV series:
