How can one hone their detective skills?
Play Hocus FOCUS in the Sunday paper. What do you see as different. Take a picture, look at it for 5 min, no notes, turn the picture over and write down what is in the picture. I always liked Perry Mason, Mattock, Mc Milan and Wife, Dragnet, Rockford, etc anything that causes you to think and analyze the plot see if you can solve it before the detective does, WHO DONE IT.
Which is a better course to become a Homicide Detective physics or computer science?
Of those, I would probably choose computer science. Not because it would be better for becoming a detective, but it is probably a more marketable major. You should choose a major that interests you, that is marketable, and that could be useful for police work. When choosing a major, consider what you might want to do if you can't become a police officer or if you decide not to become a police officer. Whatever major you choose, make the most of your time in college. Get the highest grade point average that you can, participate in a couple extracurricular activities, get a good internship, do some regular volunteer work, don't do anything illegal, and maintain a good reputation. It is great that you are planning on getting a college degree. Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do. Best of luck!

I love to write, I am currently a college student trying to decide between being a journalist or a lawyer. I eventually want to be a full time fiction writer. Any advice?
