Which Is A Better Workout

Which is a better workout? Zumba or Your Shape?

I've never done your shape, but I've done zumba before and I love it. I'm a 19 yr old woman and my dress size when I first started was a 17/18. I only did it for a month but I actually lost a dress size. Its fun, so cardio filled and will have u feeling so accomplished after each day!!

Which is a better way for a workout, gym with AC or non AC gym.

Lets admit it, we all look for comfort all the time. Gyming causes sweating, it warms your body up. And now when you workout in AC as per thermodynamics your body tries to create a balance between your body temperature and the temperature around. Now what happens???your body slowly starts losing the warmth. That’s really not good for your muscles as you workout. Its okay to cool your body down once you are done working out but not as you are working out. Its like travelling in a train whose brake system doesn’t work properly. The constant sudden brake harms the passengers within the train. Same way it harms your muscles and tissues. Also i believe sweating is a very good way of letting out all the toxins in your body and all the dust that has accumulated over your skin over your day to day routine. Once you sweat and take a shower you feel all the more refreshed so i believe working out in a park, jogging, walking or even working out under the fan is more effective and beneficial health wise than in an AC gym

Which is a better workout, biking or running?

Jogging and Running BenefitsJogging and running are good options for people that want exercise to be accessible, promote bone health and burn a significant amount of calories. Jogging is a moderate-intensity aerobic activity and may be better for people who are building endurance while running is a high-intensity aerobic activity that is better for people with built endurance. Both jogging and running are weight-bearing exercises that reduce your risk of osteoporosis. If a person weighing 150 lbs. jogs for 30 minutes, he or she will burn 238 calories. If a person weighing 150 lbs. runs for 30 minutes, he or she will burn 342 calories, so the weight-loss benefits of running are more significant than jogging. Treadmills allow you to jog or run indoors if the weather does not warrant outdoor activities.Cycling BenefitsCycling is a better option for people with arthritis or osteoporosis because it's not a weight-bearing aerobic activity, so you're not placing additional stress on your bones and joints. Someone suffering from osteoporosis should always ride a stationary bike to reduce their risk of falling. Cycling can range from a low-intensity casual bike ride to a high-intensity ride going 15 miles per hour or more. Cycling is good for someone who has difficulties fitting exercise into a daily routine because it can take the place of your car and you can take your bike to work, school and wherever else you need to go. If you weigh 150 lbs. and cycle at 12 to 14 miles per hour, you can burn 297 calories. A bicycle will not need to be replaced as often as running shoes.

What is a better workout dumbbells or barbells?

Neither is 'better'. The barbell has the capability for much heavier weight to be used than is possible with dumbells and is therefore used to exercise the major muscle groups of the legs, back and chest. Dumbbells are good for isolation work and like kettlebells can be used in conjunction with a wide range of movements and exercises

What is a better workout an elliptical or pilates?

I do both the elliptical and Pilates, so I feel comfortable answering your question. The elliptical is the best machine for burning calories of any kind (better than the treadmill, stationary bike, or stair climber). That's because it burns more calories per minute (no matter what shape you're in). Try a few different setting on the elliptical and see which one you like---or switch off from time to time. Kilimanjaro, on the one I use, is a good one.

Pilates is a much different form of exercise. It focuses on flexibility, balance, core strength, and posture. It DOES burn calories, but that isn't its primary emphasis. It's quite possible your gym, if you're a member, has a Pilates class---sometimes it helps to do Pilates in a group. Pilates also has a mind/body/spirit benefit that is very difficult to describe but is quite noticeable once you get into it.

Think of fitness as a triangle. The 3 sides are cardiovascular endurance, resistance training, and flexibility. So...doing the elliptical and Pilates is 2/3's. Do some resistance training, e.g., weight lifting, and you've got it all! Good luck!

Ben Wa Balls: which is a better workout -- smaller or heavier?

My regular balls have gotten very easy to keep in (I can run 5 miles without them slipping out). I don't know how big or how much they weigh.

I want to buy new ones but which ones are harder to keep in? The heavier they are, the bigger the size. The smaller they are, the lighter weight.

Small balls weigh 1oz each and measure 1”

Medium weigh 2oz each and measure 1¼”

suggestions?

What's a better workout- pilates or kickboxing?

I'm trying to decide which class to take at the local gym. I know kickboxing is more cardio and pilates is more strength & flexibility focused, but honestly ANY exercise would be good for me.

Right now I'm too busy to find time for much exercise, hopefully a class will be a good motivator. Please share your experience, positive or negative witheither of these. Thanks.
