Buses to HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE?

1) Direct buses from either Liberty, Kodambakkam or T.Nagar to HIET, Guindy or very few only. However, you may travel to Saidepet from there you can take plenty of buses. But from Liberty to this place by bus, is best to reach Vadapazhani, 100ft road bus stop; from this place you have plenty of buses to reach HIET, Kathipara JN. Ensure for boarding buses traveling towards Tambaram and beyond.

2) However, of the above, the best and fast mode of traveling to this place HIET from Liberty, is by taking a suburban train. Kodambakkam railway station is adjacent to this place Liberty, just a walking time of 2 to 3 minutes. You can take a suburban train to Guindy (Running towards Tambaram side), which is 3rd station from Kodambakkam. The frequency of suburban trains is almost one in every 10 minutes. Hardly travel time from Kodambakkam to Guindy will not be more than 8 minutes. Then from Guindy station to HIET, you can walk down, which will roughly take 10 minutes only. Or you can take Share Auto and get dropped at this place. Ensure not to take ordinary auto from Guindy station to HIET, which is just one km; the fair by normal auto may be exorbitantly high in the range of 50 to 70 rupees.

What is better - engineering or medical?

Well i think i can answer your question since i too faced the same scenario years before.I'll try to keep it short and simple.IMAGE of A DOCTOR:You can do a lot of social welfare work. You are kind of god wherever you live. You will be in the good book of many people.Respect will follow you everyday everywhere. There is no doubt about it.IMAGE of AN ENGINEER:You will not find respect you will have to earn it doing something worthy and extraordinary. You are just an individual. You may or may not get a chance to work directly for the welfare of the people.Chances are less. But let me tell you  any social service is worthy of respect and honour. But the medical servants own a little more because they are people who save lives.Imagine you are dying and somebody saves you.PERSONAL LIFE FOR A DOCTOR:It is hectic, painful and stressful.imagine yourself fighting death everyday and saving lives and sometimes failing which takes a toll on you. It scrapes away your soul unless you are strong hearted.Hospital is not a fun place. You have to have a lot urge in you to become a doctor and must be willing to sacrifice  your fun ,pleasure many a time. As for money you will start earning at a later age and can keep earning until your old age.you have to be a lot more studious, diligent and hard working.PERSONAL LIFE OF AN ENGINEER:It is all fun & pleasure and doesn't have to be under a damocles sword all the time. You know your negligence or failure wont be taking a life.Besides engineering life is very enjoyable. You can give time to your family. You will be capable of earning early of age and can also earn at par with a doctor.P.S. I have written all these keeping in view you dont waste your life in either case and i have judged from a common platform.besides you must understand yourself what you want and what you are willing to sacrifice whatever the cost.

Compared to other engineering disciplines how hard is industrial engineering.?

Hi guys.

I Just finished first year in mechanical engineering and my marks werent very good. I passed all my courses and kept my Gpa out of the academic probation zone. The problem was that I couldnt grasp alot of the concepts that were thrown at me, especially the ones related with mechanical engineering such as fluid mechanics and heat transfer. So I just recently transfered into the industrial engineering program. I am not afraid of the work load. I took engineering because I find it interesting. I am just wondering now compared to mechanical and other disciplines, how hard is industrial engineering and Is it worth the time to take it and get a bachelors degree in it. I have heard industrial engineering being called "imagenairy engineering" and not engineering at all. So I am just wondering if someone can tell me how hard is it compared to the other engineering disciplines and is it worth majoring in.

thank you
