Does slow Internet connection make you want to kill yourself?

Lol yah. Do you use Internet Explorer? I try to avoid it. I use chrome and my speeds seem to be faster. But in answer to the question. Yah, I hate it when it's slow. The thing I think of, is spending the extra $10 a month worth it? $120 per year.

EDIT:
Umm... First off ipad doesn't suck (I'm not a fanboy). Second it's most likely the limit your provider has set on your Internet speed. If you are nearly wanting to die just pay extra for a faster speed.

Who is the best internet service provider in Bangalore?

I would not recommend Hathway broadband internet service to anyone.Reasons:* I have opted for one of the premium quarterly plans and have already paid the amount but my internet connection is down since last 14 days (345 hors to be specific) and it is not up yet.* In my case they provided the reason that power supply to the regional server is down; and if it takes 14 days to fix the power supply of server, that means they have very limited resources and very weak technical team.* Worst part is, when you call customer care, they tell you that - when power supply of server is down then customer complaint can not be lodged (and that is the Hathway process)* So what should customer do in this case? Answer (as provided by customrr care executive) is to go to the regional office and see yourself what the issue is and lodge the complaint with them.* If you manage to somehow lodge the complaint (expecting it may get resolved), it does not get addressed even though you personally take daily follow-ups.* The local guy (who had made huge claims about Hathway service and standards of operation), would no longer attend your calls. and you feel like being alieneted and cheated.* Ultimately you have already prepaid the money for the future 3 months and you do not get the service for desired period.* You will end up blaiming yourself once you buy Hathway internet service or its plans.* So, do not get fooled by their full speed claims, uptime claims or attractive unlimited plans or Sania Mirza's advertisement. They all are useless if you do not get internet regularly (which is highly the case as far as Hathway is concerned). My experience is that HATHWAY DOES NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS ONCE THEY RECIEVE PAYMENT, hence -I DO NOT RECOMMEND HATHWAY BROADBAND INTERNET SERVICE TO ANYONE.(I checked my Hathway internet connection again and it is still down. My complaint is stil open with hathway even after 14 days. Service looks to be as poor as Indisn government servants)

How do I get a different internet connection than my roommate?

David is correct but you may need to know the type of connection your room mate has. If they already have a DSL line you might not get a second line over the same phone line. You could get your connection through a cable company if your room mate's is DSL or vice versa.

Another consideration is teaming up with your roommate and get their plan bumped up to a faster level. E.g. locally moving to the next tier is $10-$15/month. You can pay $10/month more for unlimited usage so you don't have to worry about going over their monthly limit.

You need to understand and agree on the details of their plan if you don't go for your own.

Depending on where you are halofire's suggestion of using your cell phone would work but some providers charge for teathering a device ($10 more a month) plus you'd need much more data add to your cell phone plan. If you don't have a strong cell signal at home your speed will suffer.

Why does my internet connection suck so much dick?

Clean up your language and I'll tell you how.

Which are the best internet connections/service providers available in Bangalore, aside from ACT (not available in my area) for under 1200 INR?

A "good" internet connection is determined by your requirements.Typically, there are 4-5 parameters that I would look into before opting for any Internet provider:1. Speed This point is relevant to one and all. Every user expects his/her internet to be of some minimum speed. ACT offers upto 100 Mbps (FUP of 125GB). Airtel offer upto 80 Mbps (FUP of 100GB).Most others such as Hathway, Yashtel, etc offer upto 50Mbps with various FUPs.BSNL, Tikona etc offer 2-20 Mbps speeds with 20-40GB FUP.2. Download LimitThis is a crucial factor since almost all operators provide unlimited internet. It is unlimited in the sense that you are charged a fixed amount but the download/upload speed drops drastically after a certain amount of usage, known as FUP.Most internet providers offer FUPs in the range of 50-100GB. Post the FUP the download rate drops to around 256-512 Kbps.Hathway and Yashtel offer multiple FUP options for the same speed (with varying costs, of course!). 3. ReliabilityReliability is very crucial as far as I am concerned. It is a major consideration for those who work from home frequently.BSNL internet seems to be dead twice a day, once a week!Airtel is the most reliable internet network that rarely causes problems. Most others are reliable as well, although a lot of customers seem to have issues with ACT. (Not my personal experience!)4. Customer supportAll internet connections are bound to crop up issues at some point. It is very important that providers respond to the requests in a timely manner.Airtel customer care is good. Hathway customer care is also very good.ACT seems to have the most arrogant and uninterested customer care unit. It takes a lot to even get them to respond or call back when there is a problem.5. PriceAirtel is pricey but that is because they know that they have good speeds(not the fastest) and a great customer service reputation to back those speeds.Act seems to be riding on the sole premise of offering the highest speeds and have completely ignored customer service.Smaller ventures such as Hathway and Yashtel are very reasonably prices as they are still trying to establish themselves in this domain! My Suggestion - If either Hathway or Yashtel provide internet in your area, they are wonderful options. Being relatively smaller companies in this domain, they offer very reasonable rates and also provide excellent customer service.
