Which Is Better In Terms Of Hostel Nit Surathkal Or Mnnit Allahabad

Which has better placement: NIT Surathkal or MNNIT Allahabad?

I am a student at NITK, so I’ll tell you about the placement scenario at NITK Surathkal. I cannot comment on MNNIT Allahabad as I haven’t been there. The following image is basically a summary of the Placements in the last academic year.As you can see CSE is close to an average of Rs. 13 lakh and IT is close to an average of Rs.10 Lakh. This is excluding off-campus offers which students have got and also a minority tends to go abroad for further studies. So considering all this we have a decent placement scenario.Hope this answer helps. Best of luck for your future. :)

Which is better, NIT Bhopal for CSE or NIT Allahabad for IT?

I faced exactly the same dilemma two years ago. I was confused between the two while filling the choices and during the counselling process and finally chose IT at MNNIT, Allahabad. The reason being-MNNIT is better than MANIT in terms of placements and senior-junior decorum, specifically ragging. Also, before two years, MANIT's hostel condition was not good. Though, a new hostel has been constructed now. Both MANIT and MNNIT have a number of cultural/management/technical fests and events.IT at MNNIT has a slight edge over or you can say at least equivalent to CSE at MANIT.So, it is better to go for MNNIT considering the present situation and past records. The factors when I say so are- placements (i.e. better academics), college reputation (it matters) and a more friendly environment with zero ragging. (I've heard of ragging in MANIT from my friends studying there)

Which NIT is better for mechanical engineering (B.Tech), Allahabad or Rourkela?

Infrastructure of nit rourkela is better than nit allahabad and placement of nit allahabad is better than nit rourkela. If you want to do m.tech. Or ms (further study) you should join nit rourkela and if you want to do job then you should join nit allahabad.

Which is better, IIIT or NIT?

You are asking this question because you have secured good rank in JEE Mains. So, I will give you the answers by comparing the colleges of IIITs and NITs..IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology):The IIITs are of two types:Set-up, Funded and Managed by Ministry of Human Resource Development.Setup on Public Private Partnership (PPP), funded by Central Government, State Governments and Industry Partners in the ratio 50:35:15.The type 'a' college includes 4 colleges. These are also Institute of National Importance. These are somewhat old and well established. The type 'b' includes 20 colleges. The industry partners play a vital role in determining their syllabus and curriculum, which is advantage for them. As per the new IIIT Bill, these institutes are also Institute of National Importance. This college has a tag name 'Indian' and a brand name IIIT. In this college, the admission is base on the All India Quota, thus, its not like NITs where students having low rank get admission due to state quota.Like IITs, they also get a brand name 'Indian', instead of the 'National' tag.IIITs offer admissions only in the branches like CSE, ECE, IT, etc., which are core branches in the field of Information Technology. These branches offer a very high packages. This is the reason for the higher average salary of IIITs than NITs.The best IIITs includes IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Trichy, IIITDM Kanchipuram, etc. There are 24 IIITs in all.NIT (National Institute of Technology):These colleges were earlier RECs who later were changed to National Institute of Technology. These colleges are also Institute of National Importance. A few colleges are somewhat old and well established. For the admission to this college, 50% is reserved for the students of state quota and the other 50% to the other state quota. So, if you are going to join an NIT, its like similar that you are joining a college which is just similar and better than the state colleges. The top engineering colleges are IITs, i.e., Indian Institute of Technology, which got a brand name 'Indian'. NITs have 'National' tag instead. The NITs offer admission in almost all fields and branches, which is not in available in IIITs.The best NITs lies in the south, i.e., NIT Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Calicut. The other top NITs include NIT Allahabad, Jaipur, Bhopal, Nagpur, Kurukshetra, Durgapur, etc. There are 31 NITs in total. Thus, in my view, IIITs can be considered better than the NITs.

Which NIT is preferable for girls: NIT, Surathkal, Warangal, or Allahabad?

As I'm from NITK Surathkal,my answer will be biased.I hope that works for you About  the hostel conditions, please read my answer to What are the problems associated with NITK hostel life?.You can also refer to website www.thenitklife.weebly.com.The above answer has mentioned a lot of problems.I know,But the hostel life at NITK is an unbelievable experience. As a North Indian, you will feel extremely homesick unlike your bangalorean friends who'll find every chance to go back home every other weekend. So for the first sem it will be hard to adjust to the weather and this feeling. You can manage to go home once during dusshera for a week or so.Not much to worry then. There are too many events happening all the time,so you shall not be bored.Exploring Mangalore,Manipal, etc will also keep you busy. And you're not the only one feeling homesick, they're many just like you.Coming to the food, mess food might be hard to adjust to but there's dal and rice every afternoon and night and I think the dal tastes decent. For breakfast, I've noticed that many North Indians like the South Indian idlis and dosas when we South Indians think it's blah:P Buttermilk is served every afternoon and a cup of curd at dinner. The good thing about the girls mess is there is bread butter and jam for breakfast. In the evening, snacks are served with tea, coffee and milk. The Tea is pretty tasty :P We get ice creams thrice a week and sweet once a week. Paneer is served twice a week. Sunday dinner is the yummiest with Veg Biriyani. We also have a grand dinner every month with some extra menu like soup, salad, cornetto and two sweets(usually Gulab jamoon and some other thing). Its something to look forward to.Our night canteen has better food:) The parathas are really good.I hope this answers your query regarding the food. Even though the nitk hostel may not be in par with the others ,I think the life here is way too good.We have 8:30 pm block timings for first year girls, which becomes 10pm from second year.Oh yeah , we have a private beach \m/.

Whose IT is best, IIIT Allahabad, Motilal Nehru NIT (MNNIT), or NIT Surathkal?

All three of them are among the top IT courses.Placement Scenario : NITK is the clear champion here. Nitk IT dept is just a decade old, and yet it has great placements. MNNIT also has good placement but NITK will beat it. NITK IT has better average package as well as 75th percentile package. Official placement statistics are available on nitk website. IIITA stands no where.Infrastructure : From what I have heard, I would rate IIITA better than other 2 in terms of lab infrastructure. They have more machines, better machines. NITK doesn't even have a remote login system which I think is a necessity. IIITA also have better research output than other two. They have dedicated research groups and labs. They have completed many impactful projects. They even do research on robotics. However, IIITA lags behind in classroom and other campus infrastructure which is equally important. Again NITK has awesome hostels, campus and classroom infrastructure.Faculty : Well, MNNIT is the champion in this regard. NITK IT has very few faculty. And I have no clue about the scene in IIITA.Curriculum: NITK has the best curriculum in this whole country. Curriculum is revised often. New industry-relevant courses like functional programming and cloud computing are introduced and old courses are either completely removed or clubbed together. The new funda of NITK IT dept to merge the theory, practical and projects all in one single course seems to work very well. Typical third year courses like OS and Sofware Design is taught in 2nd year itself. However, there is less scope for electives compared to other elite institutes. Conclusion : It's difficult to write a strict equation comparing these institutes. One needs to select the mutually fit institute. If you are looking for are smart, self-driven person looking for opportunities NITK is best for you. However if you are into research and looking for sound guidance the other 2 will be better.

Which is the best choice-CSE in MNNIT or IT in NITK?

I am not sure about other NIT's but at NITK the curriculum of IT and CSE are as you have observed same. You will end up learning the same things. In any of the technical clubs or other activities as well there in no differentiation between the two departments. And when it comes to placements also they are EXACTLY same. Every company that allows CS students allows IT students as well. Coding culture at great at NITK too. Otherwise companies like facebook wouldn't go there for placements. When it comes to placements NITK beats MNNIT hands down. So, my suggestion is take IT at NITK over CSE at MNNIT. Learnings, placements and higher education wise it will be exactly similar to CSE.
