Which Is Not A Role Of The President

President!?!?!?

Could one or more of the roles (chief of state, chief executive,comander-in-chief,chief diplomat, chief legislator, chief od party, voice of the people, president of the west, protector of the peace, manager of the prosperity) of the president be shifted to the vice-president or others without weakening the effectiveness of the office?

What are three roles of the president?

Commander in Chief of Military -- (Congress declares war)

Appoint judges -- (Congress Confirms)

Communicate regarding the State of the Union -- (Presents the State of the Union address toCongress)

What roles of the president do these fall under.?

Chief Legislature- Only Congress has the actual power to make laws. But the Constitution gives the president power to influence Congress in its lawmaking. Presidents may urge Congress to pass new laws or veto bills that they do not favor.

Chief Diplomat- The president decides what American diplomats and ambassadors shall say to foreign governments. With the help of advisers, the president makes the foreign policy of the United States.

What is the role of the president in the US government?

The President is the leader of the executive branch of the United States government. The three branches are Congress who's role is to create laws, the Courts who's role is to interpret those laws and define what they actually do, and the Executive who's role is to enforce the laws passed by Congress. Constitutionally there is very little said about the Federal Bureaucracy (less than one paragraph), but from that blank constitutional slate most of the modern federal government has developed. Almost every function of the federal government today: the IRS, the Military, the DEA, the NSA, the TSA, the fish and wildlife service, and so on and so forth are part of this massive and sometimes overwhelming, federal bureaucracy and at the top of their management charts is POTUS. The heads of the departments, who are the next level of that management chart, serve at the pleasure and appointment of the President and are expected to implement policy dictated by the President (Those department heads, or Principal Officers as the Constitution calls them) require Senate approval for their positions but the running of their departments is up to them (within the framework of their laws) Essentially the only aspects of the federal government that the average American sees that are not part of the executive are the local (or near local) federal district court and the local office of your congressman. Everything else is controlled (at least on paper) by the President.

What is the role of the Vice President of India?

The Vice-President performs some important functions and duties. They are the following:1. The Vice-President is the ex-officio Chairman of the Council of States. He may cast his vote when there is a tie.2. He represents the Council of States on ceremonial occasions.3. He protects the rights and privileges of the members of the Council of States.4. He visits foreign countries on goodwill missions.5. If the President is not able to perform his functions due to absence or illness etc. the Vice-President shall perform the functions of President until the President resumes his duty.6. If the post of President falls vacant due to his resignation, removal, and death or otherwise, then the Vice-President shall act as the President until a new President is elected. This period between the Vice-President acting as the President and the election of a new President can be extended for a maximum period of six months. In the United States of America, the Vice-President acts as the President till the expiry of the term of the President whom he succeeds in case the President dies in office. In India, this practice is not in vogue. When President Zakir Hussain died in office in 1969, V.V. Giri, the then Vice-President, acted as the President, and within 6 months he himself was elected as the President. While acting as the President, the Vice-President shall not perform his duty as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. While acting as the President, the Vice-President has the same powers, privileges and immunities as the President. The post of Vice-President is not superfluous. His position is one of honour, dignity, as well as of influence. He presides over the meetings of the Rajya Sabha. He is also likely to act as the President in some situations. As such he is the 'No.2 Citizen' of the country. But he has potential to be promoted to the position of No.1 Citizen of India. It would be right to describe the Vice-President as a 'President-in-waiting' or a 'Shadow President.'Thank You!!

Should we limit the president’s role in world affairs? Why or why not?

Q. Should we limit the president’s role in world affairs? Why or why not?(1) No, because he is the president. Numero uno in the country. Foreign affairs is a big part of the office scope, the job role scope. It's incongruent to leave out that scope.(2) If you've no confidence in the president handling world affairs, don't vote for him.If he was voted in anyway ultimately, he has Legitimacy and Mandate. This is democracy. For better, or for worse.
