Which Is The Greatest Metal Album Of All Time

What is the greatest Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album of all time?

Really tough. I had to juggle with albums like Painkiller, Blackwater Park, Powerslave and Paranoid, but finally hit upon - Rust in Peace by MegadethMegadeth is a band which every metal freak knows and worships. The band's 1990 release of Rust in Peace remains to be their best album of date and IMO the best thrash metal album ever produced. The riffs, solos, songwriting and the vocals are out of the world. Holy Wars…The Punishment Due - This opening song sets the mood of the whole album. It has one of the best vocals thrash metal has seen. The lyrics in this and Hangar 18 (the second song) is top notch with the one off between Marty and Dave brilliantly done. Tornado of Souls is a song where the riffs of the legendary Friedman make a mark on the listener. The song shows the potential of Marty, with him producing a strangely melodic solo and relatively no shredding compared to his previous outings as the lead guitarist. Poison Was the Cure, Lucretia, Five Magics, Dawn Patrol and Take No Prisoners are all exceptional songs with the album concluding with the Rust In Peace...Polaris which provides some exceptional solos by Marty at the death. On the whole, Rust In Peace is a classic metal album with impressive shredding and solos, and since a band as technically sound as Megadeth couldn't produce this magic again in its later years, it goes to say that this was one-in-a-century album; one of the greatest of all time.

Which is the greatest metal album of all time?

I will say two albums as the best heavy metal albums of all time.Paranoid (1970) - Black Sabbath : In general this album is the definition of heavy metal. It is heavy, containing heavy guitar rifts of Tony Iommi, extraordinary bass by Geezer Butler, out of box drumming of Bill Ward and obviously strong high pitched vocal with dark and meaningful lyrics of the ‘prince of darkness’ Ozzy Osbourne. Before this album there was another studio album recorded by Black Sabbath with the same name. But it was bit blues influenced, where Paranoid was the pioneer of that music what is know as ‘heavy metal’ today. Paranoid (album) - WikipediaMaster of Puppets (1986) - Metallica : If heavy metal is considered as a canvas, Metallica will be the brightest painting on it. For a metalhead the scream “master, master” is enough to drag him/ her for a headbanging adventure. The lyrics were extraordinary. The aggressive vocal of James Hetfield made it more furious. The rhythm section got life with the guitar of James, drumming of Lars Ulrich and of course with the distorted heavy bass of late Cliff Burton. Finally exquisitely awesomeness of fast guitar solos of Kirk Hammett made it perfect. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

What is the best heavy metal album?

My personal all-time best heavy album would be Blizzard of Ozz by Ozzy Osbourne.  To me, this first ever solo Ozzy record was also his best. Ozzy's songwriting was at his peak, where he addressed diverse themes in his lyrics such as Cold War and fear of destruction in Crazy Train, apocalypse in Revelation (Mother Earth), and the occult and mystical in Mr. Crowley. What particularly stood out, however, was Randy Rhoads' guitar playing; his solos and riffs in this album were absolutely memorable, cementing him as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal guitar players of not just his era but also throughout the genre's history.  Honorable mentions would include: ... And Justice For All (Metallica)Cowboys From Hell (Pantera)Diary Of A Madman (Ozzy Osbourne)Master Of Puppets (Metallica) Reign In Blood (Slayer) - I am not a fan of the band's extremely chaotic style, but admittedly this album is really goodRust In Peace (Megadeth) Paranoid (Black Sabbath)

Is Metallica the greatest metal band ever?

Everyone's gonna disagree on what the "greatest" is; it's all subjective. But in terms of their popularity and where they stand today, they might be classified as the "greatest metal band", sure. ...

Which is the best Indian metal album you have heard?

The Down Troddence, a metal band from Kannur in Kerala released their debut album "How are you? We are fine, Thank you" in 2014. The album is marked by brutal guitar work, "in your face vocals"  and tight rhythm and groove sections throughout. A special mention also to the guest solo on "Forgotten Martyrs" a track featuring Baiju Dharmajan and his carnatic blizzard, taking it to just another level. It is a brilliant metal album with groovy songs, and insane instrumental work. The album was produced by Keshav Dhar of Skyharbour. I'm not the only one of this opinion. Lamb of God and world renowned metal drummer Chris Adler asked for a CD of theirs after they played a gig in Mumbai. Check it out for yourself :https://www.oklisten.com/album/h...
