Which Is The Most Exclusive And Expensive Seaside Resorts

Which are the most expensive hotels in the world?

Great question because it implies that you are asking about the most expensive "hotel only" structure. There have been private palaces and office buildings (Apple corporate headquarters) that might have cost more than some of the top hotels. The most expensive hotels built to date are more than just a hotel, so here is a Top Three list of the most expensive "Hotel Complexes" which encompass hotel space, casino space, housing space and even prayer space!1. The Abraj Al-Bait shown above is the world’s most expensive building or more appropriately a complex of buildings that is located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The total cost of construction of the building is estimated to be $15 billion USD. The towers were built as part of a project, the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project, that aims to modernize Mecca and provide excellent facilities to the thousands of Muslim pilgrims who arrive at the site every year. The central tower of the complex, the Makkah Royal Clock Tower is a Fairmont Hotel that is the world’s fourth tallest freestanding structure.2. Marina Bay Sands, Marina Bay, Singapore shown above, had a construction cost of $5.50 billion USD and Marina Bay Sans is the most expensive resort ever built. The construction consists of three connected 55 story towers and is situated in an area of 38 acres, with the building billed as the world’s most expensive standalone casino. Construction was completed in 2010.3. Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, with a cost of $4.93 billion USD. The Resorts World Sentosa development, built by Malaysian conglomerate Genting Group, consists of hotels, casino, and a number of entertainment attractions such as the Universal Studios theme park. The resort’s integrated oceanarium occupies an area of 20 acres and is the largest in the world, with over 100,000 animals of more than 800 species.

What are the best seaside towns/cities to live in England?

To live in, as opposed to visit on holiday, is a very different thing. On the south coast, Brighton or Chichester, both very expensive but lots of amenities and handy for London. Southampton has a good university and quite a lot going on. In the south west, many people retire happily to Minehead, if that’s your thing. St Ives in Cornwall has a vibrant art scene. On the east coast I know people who have been very happy in Great Yarmouth. Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast has good facilities and is very handy for smaller resort towns such as Whitby and Bridlington, as well as York. I’m sure there are places on the Northumberland coast or across the country in Lancashire or Cumbria that are good to live in, but I don’t know about them.

Will Brexit give a boost to Tourism at British seaside resorts?

Declaration of interest: I was born in Southport and lived there for most of my life (not there now though, but still in the North West)I think it will benefit at the margin. The GBP being weaker relative to other currencies makes the UK more attractive. However, the fundamental problem with British seaside resorts isn't that they're too expensive (though they are). It's that they aren't very good. Why do you go on a beach holiday? To be somewhere warm, to swim in the sea/pool, to eat at nice restaurants etc.Well … Southport isn't always warm in the Summer. It rains a lot. The sea is often barely visible (much better idea to go down to Formby, rather than Southport). And the sea is very cold. Nightlife pretty bad (was better ten years ago for sure). Restaurants not great. It's basically a town in managed decline.Similar issues in other resorts. I went to Newquay on a lads holiday maybe 8 years ago. Camping, so it was cheap. It pissed it down half the time.Blackpool is a two trick pony. The lights and hen do’s. But I'd much rather go somewhere like Newcastle on a stag do, to be honest.Spain being 15% more expensive doesn't change any of those facts. People went on UK seaside holidays in the past because it was not possible for ordinary people to go abroad. That's not the case any more. These towns are dead. Or dying. Their tourism industry can't be resuscitated.
