Which Kindle Should I Get

Which Kindle should I get?

3G vs Wifi - The 3G is a one time cost, works globally and gives the most options. If you travel at all, get the 3G.  If you plan on upgrading in the next 2 or 3 years maybe you want to save the $50 or so, but otherwise pay it. EDIT: New restrictions on the internet functions make this trickier.Special Offers or Not - Special Offers, no question. Much cheaper, not invasive and I've actually gotten some good deals on books and other items.Kindle Fire vs Non - Non, unless you have lots of magazines you have to read in color or need to watch movies and have a bulky laptop or old phone.  I read magazine articles all the time on the Kindle 3 using Calibre.  You can get music on your phone, so no benefit there.  The fire will be harder to read in sunlight but easier to read in the dark.  If you primarily want a cheap iPad and not a reading device get the Fire, otherwise skip it.Keyboard vs Touch - Unless you really want a keyboard (not that useful) why would you buy the old tech?  You may as well buy your friend's used Kindle 3 for cheap if you want to do that.  So Kindle Touch.EDIT: It was recently confirmed that the Kindle Touch 3G web browser would only work over wifi (the connection to the store works via 3G) and the Keyboard version web browser works via 3G. So that might change things - http://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...Put it all together and you get the Kindle Touch 3G with Special Offers for $149 or the  Kindle Touch Wifi with Special Offers for $99.  With the new screen, library lending, etc it will be the best option for most.  EDIT: Unless you need 3G web browsing everywhere.

Which Kindle should I buy?

About that nook, here is a good review on nook vs kindle that would help you on deciding the eBook reader you should go for:

http://budurl.com/KindleOrNook

- You can read over 1 million book titles from amazon.
- There are few games that can also be played
- It has a 6" eInk screen which makes it readable even under direct sunlight
- The experimental browser allows you to visit several sites.
- 3g option is there

I would prefer you to get the kindle touch 3g version as you can download books anywhere around the nation,

Here you would be able to find the best selling eReader:

But you can prefer dishing out cash for kindle fire if:

- You want no lag in browsing
- You want to access over 18K apps
- You want a 7" colorful screen
- You want a tablet

Than here is the price tag for the kindle fire:

Which Kindle is best for me?

I read a lot of books, im a complete bookworm ( as you can probably tell from my username lol ). My parents said that i should just get a kindle because i read so much, and there is literally no room in my house for anymore books.

So, basically i want a kindle ONLY for reading. and maybe music. Preferably fast, because one of my friends who has a kindle touch said that after you click something you have to wait a few seconds before it actually works.

Long and detailed answers would be appreciated :)

Should I buy a Nook or Kindle?

Note on model names: B&N naming is that the "Nook" (aka Nook Classic) is their older monochrome ereader; "Nook Color" is their color ereader; and "Nook Simple Touch Reader" (aka Nook Touch) is their latest monochrome ereader.

Buy a Kindle or Nook Touch if you're most interested in long-run reading. Their E Ink Pearl display is better than Nook Classic's older E Ink Vizplex screen and much better than Nook Color's LCD screen for reading text. Deciding between a Kindle and Nook Touch: Kindle advantages: keyboard, 3G model available, 4G internal memory, Text-To-Speech, MP3 support. Nook Touch advantages: touch screen, less page-turn flashing, EPUB support, SD memory expansion port.

Buy a Nook Color if you're most interested in apps and games and browsing the web. Reading long-run text is as tolerable as it is with a computer monitor, and the Kindle's and Nook Touch capabilities in the non-reading areas pale in comparison.

Other than catching a great close-out deal, there's not much reason to buy a Nook Classic now that Nook Touch is out and now that Kindle will have support for library lending. The E Ink Pearl display found in the Kindle and Nook Touch has 50% better contrast than Nook's older E Ink Vizplex.

Which kindle and tablet should I get?

I'd like to go out and get a kindle and a tablet. I'm quite a slow reader and i'll just use the tablet for apps and browsing the internet, so neither have to be top of the range. Any suggestions for ones with good value? I've heard there are tablets that are also kindles. Should I go for one of those?

Thanks

Should I get a kindle for college?

I was wondering if it would be cheaper to buy a kindle for college and just get the college textbooks on the kindle. How much are college textbooks on the kindle? Should I get one??

I have iPad and iPhone. Should I buy Kindle reader?

If you do buy a Kindle for reading, by the e-reader and not the Fire, since the Fire is a tablet like the iPad. Just wanted to be clear.I have an iPad and an iPhone and a Kindle Paperwhite and much prefer reading on the Kindle. It sometimes does mean taking two devices (Kindle and phone for example) but reading on the Kindle is so much easier on the eyes. I find it easier to hold than the iPad because it’s smaller and lighter, even if I take my iPad out of the case I have.Kindle e-readers are also made specifically for reading, so there’s no temptation to play games, check email, etc., while you read. I find I actually get more reading done on a Kindle, although I have read parts of books on my iPad and iPhone. Out of the three though, I’d choose the Kindle for reading. Thanks for the A2A.
