Which Middle Names Do You Like Best For Olivia Arthur And Jacob

Baby Girl Names -- Violet?

So here's my question. I am due in May with my first (and will be my only) girl. My husband and I have thrown names back and forth, like Elizabeth, Delaney, and Olivia. (Pretty classic names.) And then, just the other day, we both totally fell in love with Violet. I think it's pretty, classic, unique (but not over-the-top). What I didn't realize is that apparently Violet is the runaway hit for 2007. (Coming from the mom who didn't see the Jacob hit of 2003 and thus has a 5 yr old Jacob.)

So my question is this -- do you think Violet will be overly popular? What's a good middle name to go with it? We're thinking Violet May, Violet Bea, Violet Elizabeth or Violet Lynn. Oh, and my two older boys' names are Jacob Christopher and Quinton Arthur.

What's your opinion?

What are some 5 letter first names that start with a consonant and 6+ letter middle names that start with a vowel?

In the countries I’m familiar with, middle names are generally drawn from the same pool as first names, so it boils down to ‘what are some 5-letter given names that start with a consonant and some 6+-letter given names that start with a vowel’.Taking Top names of the 1980s as a starting point, we have:5-letter given names that start with a consonant:BillyBlakeBobbyBrentBrettBrianBruceBryanCalebCarlaCaseyChaseCindyColinCoreyCraigDannyDavidDerekDevinDianaDylanFrankGrantHeidiHenryHollyJacobJaimeJamesJamieJaredJasonJennaJennyJerryJesseJesusJimmyJorgeJuliaJulieKarenKatieKaylaKeithKelliKellyKevinLaceyLanceLarryLauraLindaLoganLouisLucasMariaMarieMarioMeganMistyMollyNancyPeterRandyReneeRickyRobinRogerRubenSarahScottShaneShaunShawnStacySusanTammyTanyaTashaTerryTonyaTracyTylerWayneWendy6+-letter given names that start with a vowel:AbigailAdrianAdrienneAlbertAlejandroAlexanderAlexandraAlexisAliciaAlishaAlisonAllisonAlyssaAmandaAndreaAndrewAngelaAngelicaAnthonyAntonioArthurAshleeAshleyAudreyAustinAutumnEdwardElizabethOliviaAnd this was just from the 400 most popular names from one decade. My Chinese name is Feng Dong. What English name is suitable for me?

Please, don't anglicize your name.  Honestly, most English speaking countries are sufficiently multi cultural that most people will have little difficulty saying your name.  Your name is a fine name and I don't think there is any reason to change it for the ease or comfort of others.  Now, if you want to change it for your own ease and comfort then that's a different story and I won't try to convince you otherwise. If you do decide to anglicize your name I would recommend that you first reverse the order such that your family name follows your given name.  While many Americans, Canadians, Brits, etc. are familiar with the eastern convention of putting the family name first the early Chinese migrants to English speaking countries often reversed the order to better fit with their host countries conventions of having the family name as a surname.  Unfortunately, this has created a bit of a confusing situation and most English speakers will assume that your family name is your surname (except when that family name is amongst the most common of Chinese family names in North America... Wong, Chen, Chang, Li could get away with that but Feng is not sufficiently common in North America).  There really is no need to change your family name.  As far as your given goes, Scott Welch's suggestion of Don is probably the most natural fit but I favour Gwydion Madawc Williams's suggestion of Doug... Doug Feng sounds badass!
