Which Motherboard Should I Get

What motherboard should I buy?

If the processor you're buying is the I5 4690K then that means you want to overclock it eventually else there's no point in buying the unlocked version and you'll save 20-30$. If you do want to overclock then you must buy a motherboard good enough to overclock it safely.I personally recommend the Z87 and the Z97, I got a Z97 myself, read this article, it'll help you decide along with giving you a few more options:What is the Best Motherboard for I5 4690k in 2016?

How do i buy a motherboard?

My husband built our latest desktop and was very pleased with the products and service at newegg, motherboard products in link below:

AM3+ MSI 970A-G45 motherboard?

No you shouldnt have to flash your bios,That motherboard uses the 900 series chipset which means the motherboard is AM3+ and will support FX cpu's by default.
Motherboards that use earlier chipsets that purport to be AM3+ ready have to have their bios flashed as the original design of the motherboard is AM3.
Motherboards that use the 900 series chipsets which were specifically released for AM3+,should be bulldozer ready without bios flashing.
Being a newly bought motherboard it is likely it has the latest bios version,on the odd chance that this is not true then you will have to flash.
Currently bios version must be 7693v12 to support FX cpu's
If you need to flash, the bios is available here http://www.msi.com/product/mb/970A-G45.html#/?div=BIOS

Edit: Having re read your question I'm 100% certain you will not have to flash your bios as you said the box sticker states Supports AM3+ CPU with New Bios (B2 Stepping ready) which means it already has the latest bios for FX cpu support.
B2 stepping refers to a part of the cpu architecture, long story short AMD had problems with earlier pre release versions of FX that used B0 and B1 stepping that returned poor performance, they then re engineered using B2 stepping for final release

Which motherboard should you buy for your CPU?

Today, what motherboard you need really depends on what CPU you have/are planning on getting. Most people nowadays look to Intel, who’ s CPUs generally correspond to the motherboard with generation.Intel and AMD have outright completely different sockets. Here is an AMD socket:The CPU itself has pins on the bottom and the socket on the motherboard has holes for the pins. Intel, on the contrary, has metal contacts on the CPU and the socket has the pins that make the connection. Here’s an 8th generation Intel 1151 socket:In answer to your question, Google what CPU you have and check what socket is required for that CPU. Then, look around for motherboards that have that socket and that also suit your needs and budget. You don’t mention what you have, but here are a few suggestions:For 8th generation Intel CPUs (I5 8600K for example) the ASUS TUF Z370 PRO/PLUS gaming motherboards are supported and are high quality and don’t come with a particularly high price tag. You might want more high-end ROG motherboards, but in this case, any z370 motherboards are generally supported. In the end, the best way to find out what is supported is Google. I hope this has been of some help to you.

Which MSI Motherboard should I get?

There are too many variables here. First off: choose Intel or AMD. Then look at the physical size of the board, full-ATX, micro-ATX, or whatever. Four memory slots or two? Then look at the slots at the back of board. Does the mix of PCI-e slot types make sense? Does it have m.2 NVME? Does it have USB 3.1? Finally look at the price. Admit that the board that you really want costs way too much. Get something cheaper but still good.

How Hot Should My motherboard get?

So I've searched countless places and always end up getting different results, I figured I'd try asking myself. How hot should my motherboard get? I've had my prebuilt pc for awhile, then one day the graphics card malfunctioned and now I have it back. Thinking back to the incident, could it be because my computer got to hot?

I've recently started checking my computers temperature with a pre-installed program called "AI Suite II" and noticed when playing Tera on high-Ultra settings my motherboard runs about 55°C and my cpu about 47°C. are these numbers to hot?

Which motherboard should I buy for Ryzen 5 1600?

Depending on your budget and if you want expandability.Budget: B350 or B350M motherboards.Midrange and also some expandability to 2nd gen Ryzen: B450 Motherboards, id reccommend one from the brand asrock. For A++ thermal performance for again 2nd gen Ryzen, you should be pearing this motherboard with a 2700x, 1800x or 2600x: X470You shouldnt really be putting an X470 with a 1600 due to the large price range difference. I’d reccomend B450 if you have some extra cash but B350’s will be fine.

I have an Asus ROG CG8565 what motherboard should I get and what fan?

Your motherboard is likely not fried. It seems that your CPU simply isn't getting cooled properly and the computer is shutting itself down. The thermal paste on your heatsink/fan is likely dissipating. You can either get some thermal compound and clean yours off and re-apply it, or look for a good aftermarket CPU cooler.

You have a Z68 motherboard, so look for a cooler that fits the 1155 socket with good reviews on Newegg if you choose to go that route. Stock fans are usually of minimal quality, so a new cooler will likely be your best bet. If you don't wanna go with an all-in-one water cooler, I'd get an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro or a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 and aim the fan toward the venting holes in the top of your case. Don't toss away that motherboard!!! : )

Which motherboard should I buy for a Ryzen 5 2600X, the B450 or the X470? I am going to use the system for gaming, Blender and normal stuff.

They will both offer similar levels of performance at stock speeds. However if you want additional control over the chipset and over clicking options, the X470 is the better options. It will vary between actual manufacturer and model but X470s will typically have more stable power delivery components and a more versatile BIOS installed. As it’s the 2600 X then I guess you want the better potential.
