Animals need to be killed to control populations but not humans?

We need to control their populations because there are not enough natural predators now. Too many of one species increases diseases, starvation, etc. You see this in 3rd world countries with humans as well, it is not just in animals, it is true with any large population in a area without enough resources to provide for them.
Hunting can help make a healthier population because there is more food, cover, and space to go around. However sport hunting doesn't follow that because, for example, the trophy bucks are the prize of the herd. They have extra resources to go into beautiful large antlers. They are the cream of the crop, and the healthiest. For good population management, they should be allowed to live, however human culture has us now taking them, which hurts the herd health. Speaking of deer also, did you know that 40-60% of fawns born each year die of natural causes before their first year of age?

By the way, I am in school to be a veterinarian (just finished my first year), and have a horse I consider part of my family. I have raised many wild animals in zoos, and taken care of them. I respect animals. I also hunt. Anything I hunt is used completely (meat for myself or donated to a food pantry, bones and guts to my dogs), and I make sure I practice my aim beforehand to have as clean of kill as possible (quickest death). I also go after the smaller bucks or does for population control, leaving the large bucks alone. Meat is a part of our diet, and they are prey animals. Anytime you eat meat, it came from a killed animal. You can still respect animals, believe they have rights as individuals, and eat meat.

If you do not believe in hunting or killing animals for whatever reason, you must be a vegan in order to not look hypocritical, because everything that becomes meat had to die, which causes some pain.

As for human population control, I am all for it. Sex offenders, murderers, or people who are dangerous- sterlize them. I don't know what else to do, but we need to crack down on human population control. Maybe set a cap on how many kids you can have in a family. No stupidity like having octuplets by fertility drugs.
There is no use worrying about wildlife when the human population will take up every livable space in that area. The US has it lucky with a lot of free land and forests yet. A lot of old world countries are not that lucky.
