Which Of The Two Grammar Sections 25min Was The Experimental For Oct 2014 Sat

WHAT WAS THE SAT EXPERIMENTAL SECTINO FOR OCT 4th 2008!!!?

If you took the SAT on October 4th with 10 sections (one of them being the experimental), there's only two formats of the test you could have gotten, according to the collegeboard website.

1) Sections 1-10 (in order): Essay, Math, Reading, EXPERIMENTAL, Math, Reading, Writing, Math, Reading, Writing.

2) Sections 1-10 (in order): Essay, Reading, EXPERIMENTAL, Math, Writing, Reading, Math, Reading, Math, Writing.

The experimental section could have been math, reading, or writing, in either of these two formats.

Hope it helped solve the confusion among some of you in this discussion. Good luck with all you juniors and seniors out there since I, as a senior, am facing the same hard times as you all are.

Hi,In terms of content, SAT exam consists of simple Math and English. Towards the end, there is an optional essay. There are two verbal and two math sections. Verbal sections tests you on Reading comprehension skills, grammar, style of writing, vocabulary etc. Math consists of your ability to form equations, geometry, ability to solve straight line graphs etc. Verbal and Math is each scored out of 800 and essay is scored out of 24. This test lasts for 4 hours.SAT subject test is subject specific tests. There are various tests such as SAT Math, SAT Physics, SAT Chemistry etc. Each subject test last for 1 hour and the number of questions vary from subject to subject but the time remains the same. Both these tests are taken for UG courses. SAT exam is good enough for most universities, but if one is looking at good universities then SAT subject tests becomes more than important. Both the tests happen on the same day and time, so one cannot take both on the same day but one can take upto 3 Subject tests on one day.

Thanks for the A2A! Everyday I go to school early in the morning, my friends tease me for taking the SAT instead of the ACT. They say the ACT is much easier than the ACT. The SAT is scored out of 2400 and has 3 subjects : Critical Reading, Writing, Mathematics. Each divided into 3 sections + 1 experimental section (from any of the 3 subjects) = 10 sections. The ACT is scored out of 36 and has 5 subjects: Reading, English, Maths, Science and Writing. Writing is optional. The ACT appeals to the people who like science and math more and less of grammar. It does not test for large vocabulary words. The SAT requires one to memorize large lists from various sources, like Direct Hits (I recommend this for SAT), or Barrons' word list etc.SAT Math is Super-Easy for anyone who likes Math (I do). ACT Math has a bit more to math than the SAT does. One of writing sections is the essay section which is compulsory. The ACT also has a writing section which is not compulsory. I find the SAT Critical Reading challenging, mainly because I don't read very fast nor am I adroit with SAT vocabulary. ACT requires one to be fast and good at time management, as not much time is allotted for 1 ACT section.  The SAT has negative marking, the ACT does not. For me, the SAT writing was easier than the Critical Reading. To do well in it, one needs to be aware of sentence pattern and grammar rules. That's about all the difference there is. Good luck! :-)
