What song did elvis write for his mom?

No - "My Happiness" and "That's When You're Heartaches Begin" are the songs he RECORDED for the first time at Sun Studio. Those are the songs that Elvis supposedly recorded for his mom's birthday.

Elvis never actually wrote songs, he wasn't a writer, but he is credited as an actual writer (not arranger, but writer - there is difference), on two songs. Incidently, both songs were writen by Red West because of Elvis. The first song that you're probably thinking of, is "That's Someone You'll Never Forget" Elvis knew what he wanted the song called and that he wanted it dedicated to his mom, but that was it.

The other song was "You'll Be Gone". Elvis had liked the concept of taking one song and changing words, but keeping the music and medley the same, like they did with "It's Now Or Never" which was originally "O Solo Mio". Elvis had liked the song "Begin the Beguine" and wanted to follow through with that same concept. Elvis went to a movie with the guys and Red West and Charlie Hodge stayed behind and wrote the song. However, when it came time to record the song, Cole Porter, who wrote "Begin the Beguine" wouldn't allow them to use the same medley and different lyrics, so Red had to rework the medley and make it something different.

Elvis never actually wrote any songs, but he is credited as a writer on thise because he made the suggestion. Elvis tried to write songs, he would sit down with Red and Charlie, but just didn't have the patience for it. If it wasn't for Elvis, Red never would have written these songs so they though it only fair to include Elvis as a co-writer, even though he just made the suggestion.

What is your favorite Jason Mraz song?

Been a hardcore fan of his for more than 7 years now. Jason Mraz is my all time favourite artist. I love the man and his music so much I made a vow to myself that I have to see him life at least once in my life (I live in Vietnam so it’s really difficult to fly to the west to see a concert)I dont have a favourite, I tend to listen to the ones that suit my taste and mood at a time. Besides the more popular songs of his (I’m yours, Lucky, I won’t give up,..) to me the more beautiful ones are the ones lesser known. The songs listed I had on repeated for days every time I choose to listen to one.“Prettiest Friend” is a beautiful little love story with really soothing melody.“If It Kills Me” really kills me every time“Life is Wonderful” is such a powerful, meaningful song, it saved my life on a few occasion. (Live High is a great choice if you need an instant pick-me-up, Life is Wonderful might take a bit longer to sink it in)“Beautiful Mess” brings sadness to me everytime, but the beautiful kind of sadness, somehow it is very healing to me.Honorable mentions: “Details in Fabric”, “Be honest”, “Please don’t tell her”, “Love for a child” , “The woman I love”, “Long Drive”As you can see, I actually prefer his older albums than the newer ones (starting “Love is a four letter word”)At the moment I’m obsessed with Have It All because it fits my situation very well and I find it very healing :) I didnt like it when it first came out months ago, but Jason’s music really just comes at the right time, I chose to give it another go a few days ago and oh how it changed me. Once again he saved me.

What is your favourite Cher song?

If I Could Turn Back Time. It’s such an 80s song and I love the 80s. The chorus is just ok, but the rest of the song is perfect for Cher’s voice. I get goosebumps whenever I hear it.

What is your favorite dystopian song?

I’m sure there are a lot of songs from the heavier genres, which are genres I’m not as familiar with. But, here’s what I answered to the question “What are the best songs about being captured, brainwashed, and broken down?”Perhaps these two are more about being captured and broken down, but you can imagine brainwashing being involved, too. Obviously, the songs can be interpreted as potential dystopian commentary:“I Shall Be Released” by Bob Dylan.“Invisible Sun” by The PoliceThese two have more to do with dystopia:“Welcome to the Machine” - Pink Floyd“Clampdown” - The ClashNew Music Express has a nice list of possible contenders: 40 Bone-Chilling Tracks That Predict A Dark Dystopian Future - NME

What is your favorite Elvis Presley memory?

In the mid 1970’s as a very young teenager we attended Elvis conventions in Manchester, here Elvis movies were played, there were stalls selling Elvis memorabilia and vinyl releases, as well as an Elvis disco, making it a full day event. At one of these events I had saved up and purchased a number of vinyl albums. However at some time during the evening these had been stolen and I had been left going home tearful with nothing.A couple of months later a parcel arrived from the US, and upon opening it I found a dozen Elvis vinyl releases and a letter from the office of Elvis Presley at Graceland saying Elvis had heard about the lost albums and had sent these as replacement and hoped I would enjoy them. This made a massive impact on a teenage boy.Over 40 years later I am still an Elvis fan and collector, though my collection has now grown significantly to over 5000 different releases from around the World.
