Which Of These Two Outfits Should I Wear To This .

What outfit should I wear to my oral defense? (Fashionistas only please!!!)?

Did you say this is for a graduate degree in Fashion? No? History is a traditional academic subject.

Let's pretend that you are delivering an address of your recently published book in front of a convention of history professors. You want to look professional, and to be respected for your ideas rather than the length of your high heels, right?

So why not dress like a professional for this Master's orals? Here is my suggestion: navy blue jacket and skirt, colorful silk blouse, beige stockings, moderate black pumps, moderate jewelry and makeup.

After you wow them with your defense, go out clubbing that night and dress to kill!

Someone at school is wearing the same outfit as me!? What do I do?

I’m wearing a yellow denim skirt and a white shirt and some kid in the year below me is wearing the same thing. Then these two girls walked by us and were like “did you notice they were wearing the same thing” to each other. This is so embarrassing what do I do?!

What shoes should I wear with this outfit?

Cute!
I would go with boots in a shade of brown that matches the skirt, or a very dark mahogany brown.
Depending on the weather, you could go with ankle booties, or knee high boots.
If you want a tall heel, be sure that it is a bit on the chunky side, and that the sole of the boot has lots of traction. These two things are really important to making the shoe comfortable, and safe to walk around in.

What do I wear on a date?

Do you know the venue of the date? That should really determine the proper attire. A fancy restaurant, concert, museum etc would require nice clothes but not black tie, whereas what would be appropriate for a casual date like a hike would be different. If you’re going out for drinks in the evening, you are probably better shooting for more dressy rather than less. You don’t specify your gender, but I can tell you few things about what I personally like when I go out with a guy. Obviously every person you date will be different and like different things, but from my experience these are relatively universal.Smell good. I almost care more about how a guy smells than how he looks. Of course if he is a potato that is a deal breaker for me, but if an average looking guy smells amazing I'll probably end up remembering him as attractive. Oh but don't smell too good. If the entire room can smell your cologne when you walk in then it's too much.Dress for the venue. This is why it's super important that you find out the venue of your date before you go. If you are too dressed up or down, you look like you lack social awareness and class.Don’t dress like it’s a job interview. Because it's not! Show your own originality and personal style through your dress. Try not to look more conservative than you normally would if you were with your friends. Don't purposefully be flashy, just be yourself. It's a date and you should be having fun and wearing the clothes you feel like wearing.Don’t wear something controversial. This one may just be a matter of opinion. If you wear a t shirt or something that makes a statement about a controversial topic, it could unnecessarily turn your date off even if you two are compatible with slightly different views on a certain issue. For example the guy I am dating right now has really different political views than me on certain issues, but overall I have found us to be compatable and conversations with about these issues to be intellectually stimulating. But if he had been wearing a political shirt I disagreed with the first time we met I may have called it quits.

Which of these dresses should I wear to a wedding?

Impossible to answer without knowing details like what you look like (the best choice depends greatly on your features and complexion), where (location, setting, indoors/outdoors, etc.) and when (season, time of day, etc.) the wedding is.  For these reasons, if you can't provide more information here, then you're probably better off asking people who know you personally.Edit:  Based your comment that it is a fall wedding taking place indoors (but not in a church) and that you have dark hair, tan skin and green eyes: I'd vote for the red one.  Assuming you want va-va-voom (hence your choosing this dress style), the red provides the most visual impact and contrast with your stated features.  If you feel you can't carry it off, then the turquoise is also a good choice; more elegant than va-va-voom, still a good contrast for dark complexion and complementary to green eyes. Definitely not the black because you're not at interchangeable cocktail event #19, where many others will probably default to black and why dress up to blend in?The oft-repeated notion of not outshining the bride is bollocks.  If one is dressing up to look one's best, why go halfway?  A wedding invitation is not an instruction to look less than your best and any insecurities harboured by the bride is not your business.  Besides, the only way you could be seen to be competing is if you also turned up in a bridal gown too!

Which dress should I wear to homecoming?

Okay, let's get started!

Dress 1:

Starting from the top, the lace detail is absolutely stunning and gives it a vintage feel. The cap sleeves definitely gives it a more modest look to help balance out the sexy vibe the dress gives off. The back is breath taking with the single clasp and the invisible zipper.

It's fully lined and that adds great detail to the dress, the gather also adds to it. The material is stretchy and you'll be able to move freely in this outfit. I'm concerned about the length, but it might just be the picture. I wouldn't get anything more then 1 to 1 1/2 inches above the knee. Not for the sake of remaining modest, but for fear that the dress might ride up while dancing.

It's simple, but the detail definitely helps it to stand out. I've noticed that a lot of people pick this dress, but I think it's really just that lace that's really eye-catchoutfitd the model really owns it.

Anyway, I'd pair some simple black pumps. For fear of making this outfit look slutty, I'd avoid any platform styles. I'm also going to throw in ankle heels, maybe even an ankle boot style. It's a little vintage, which goes with the lacy style of the dress.

Dress 2:

I really do love this dress. The style is very elegant and mature, but still very sexy. The overlaying straps are very chic, the gathered style, like the first dress, adds great detail. The length is great and I think it looks very modern. However, this outfit is definitely for someone with a little height. The style really emphasizes the torso and thigh area. While the first dress emphasises the legs. Strapped heels, anything 2 inches to four, would look amazing.

I give the first dress a 3 out of 5.
It's cute, the vintage style is definitely interesting and that lace is breath-taking. It does make the middle region look a little stout, but I don't think it's that noticeable. The bodice is beautiful, the length is decent, and I think it's a wonderful dress. I think "party girl" when I see it.

I give the second dress a 4 out of 5.
The dress is elegant, the detail is remarkable, it's very mature and very sexy. The material is stretchy, but I don't think you'll have a problem with the dress riding up because the length is a bit longer. It's very modern, very chic, and very couture. I think "night club" when I see it.

Well the final decision is up to you. I hope I helped!
