Should I go for VLSI, embedded systems or networking? Which one is the best ever?
You cannot choose a best one out of these.All the three fields VLSI, Embedded and Networking are best in themselves.Choosing best depends upon your interest. I will not choose the best one of it rather will help you to understand your interest, and will help you to choose one from above three.I would like draw a rough image in your mind about these fields....1. Networking : A field with lot of innovations yet to come. You can innovate your own network design and these are highly paid in any MNCs. Very few network designers are required in any company. So heavy competitions which demands you many certified courses.2. VLSI : A field with new technology emerging every day. Can see a great future if having R&D(Research And Development) as interest. Quite brain pinching job but not that highly paid in industries.3. Embedded: An evergreen field. Lot more to come in mobiles, TV's, also Automobile. Expectations are high from any company about knowledge which makes pursuing Embedded courses mandatory. Not paid enough initially but experience of 2 3 years will take you to king size life.All The Best.Think wisely before you choose any field as ultimately you should only worry about your ......... What is the salary of vlsi fresher in India?
First let me tell you! Entry to this particular field is lot difficult than other industries. Becz am an VLSI engineer! The difficulties I faced was lot more and terms & condition makes it harder to digest.What ever company you try to apply, probably they will require min 1+ experience candidate. Well there are companies who takes freshers but they put you checkmate in terms of skill sets. Whether Design or Verification, front end or back end , Every company needs few basic skill sets which a fresher will not aware of.There are friends of mine who are ME VLSI students from anna univ guindy and still not able to get into a good VLSI company. (Am not from guindy, am same as you from a tier 2 college)So coming to your question.. SALARY…It is quite hard to digest. If you are capable of getting job in top MNCs then well and good you are settled and you will be paid as you expected 5 to 10 lpa. But if you are not then your struggle starts here.There are lot of startups in bangalore. If you are from tier2 or still lower college (or even tier1 clg and missed to get selected in college placements) you might end up joining in one of these startups. Remember getting placed in startups are more difficult than getting placed in MNC. Interviews will be more tougher.SO what is there in ending up in startups. Here comes the list….Your salary will 10,000 per month during your probation.Probation period will be 6 months to 1 yr depending on the company policy.After probation you will be paid 2.5 lpa.After 1 or 2 years of experience you will be paid 5 to 10 lpa depending on your performance.There will be min three years bond and bond breakage will be either your ctc or max upto 4 lakhs.And there are few companies who dont give salary during your probation.But once you complete 1 or 2 year, your life will be more settled than your other friends who joined in other companies.With 3+ experience you can expect min 10+lpa, if you are known with the trick you can earn even more higher. (Trick is shifting companies. Saying is much easier than done).So your life starts after two or three years once you join startups. At same time it will much higher than the product companies.I would like to remember one more fact, to join startup is not that easy. You must have lot of skill sets.Hope it helps.
