Which One Should I Write Into A Book I Like Both But Cant Decide.

I want to write a book but I have too many Ideas and can't settle on one genre. What should I do?

I want to write a book but I have too many Ideas and can't settle on one genre. What should I do?I have written several books, some under other pen names, and what I can tell you is that we all have many ideas. If I didn't have anything to do but write each day, I have enough full-length novels in my head to keep me writing for the next few years.Ideas are great, but you need to implement them. Many of our ideas come from other people's ideas and works, so we can safely toss most of them in a folder to look at later. Seriously, throw most of the ideas into a 'look at later' box.Writing books falls into two general categories. You write because you want to, or you write because you want to make money. Ideally, you want both, but unless you combine the two successfully, it doesn’t often happen. The first thing you need to do is start writing down all of your ideas. This is so that you do not forget them, but also so that you can identify which is your first book to write. Some of us think we ‘won’t forget’ our ideas, but we do, and usually those are the best concepts. A wise person takes copious amounts of notes. Think of noting taking as documenting, and clearing your head to make way for new ideas to enter.Be critical about each idea. If you identify the idea as being a cliché or a common plot; can you still earn money from this? Can you put an original spin on an old idea? If these answers are negative, then archive it, and move on to your next idea. Finally, remember that to be a writer, you must write. Are you prepared to dedicate all your free time to writing a book? This is what sets authors apart from people with ‘good ideas’ for a book. All you have to do is write ....Jeff, thanks for the A2A.Image from Pixabay

I am writing a book, but I can't decide whether to be the narrator or to be the storyteller. Should I go the Rick Yancy way or the J.K Rowling way?

The decision for choosing a narrator or being the storyteller, or the person who observes the activity rests upon the immediacy of the material and how close emotionally you want to be when you tell the story.A narrator has the ability to comment about how they once behaved under the lamplight of experience.A storyteller usually keep to what they know at the moment events take place. They are closer emotionally to the character.Narration is a higher level of art in the sense that it can play with:the believability or reliability of charactershow art affects the telling of story or “truth” of memorySmooth out episodesuse of time, paving, etc. It's main side effect is the distancing action of an unknown voice playing God with a created world. By explaining what happens, it tends to prevent the experiential nature of a well told story bringing to life a world.Storytelling in itself is an art because showing how events unroll without the use of explanatory material requires a depth of empathy for humanity. It's main drawback is that many people aren't able to pick up the sublties of gesture, circumstance and choice enough to think through what it might all mean.Lazy readers want the story easy and unchallenging fun, and lazy writers elect to write stories without many layers of meaning. In my experience, it is best to write storytelling scene first, because or intuition kicks in when we write drafts and you don't have to hide anything or cover up anything. The narration, and other layers of meaning come in after.

Hi! I need help picking two books for this essay. Every time I decide on one book, I can't think of another one from the same period. This is the assignment:

Please use this opportunity to exercise your freedom as a literary scholar to investigate themes and pieces of the utmost interest to you. You are not limited to the authors and works studied in this unit.

Which Book to choose?

To Kill A Mockingbird is beautifully written with an inspiring storyline that really did open my mind, and I had to read it for school and it's so easy to write about. It's quite an easy read too compared to some of the others, I think.
I've read Jane Eyre and Lord Of The Flies, they're both good reads but maybe more in your own time, not for school, and I think they're more to a specific taste whereas I can't imagine anyone not liking and understanding TKAM.
Animal Farm is quite heavy and politcal I think, Tale Of Two Cities is obviously a classic but I've never read it, my recommendation would definitely be To Kill A Mockingbird anyway.
Hope this helps! x

Which language should I choose as a medium for writing the UPSC exam: English or Hindi? I am an average writer in English, but can’t express myself as well as I do in Hindi. I’ve heard that aspirants writing in Hindi don’t score as high.

As I have seen my friend getting through CSE by wrinting in punjabi language, probably this would be helpful. The language you are well verse with should ideally be your choice for writing CSE. If its english its well and good. Incase its any regional language then one may go through several difficulties, i.e.,Collecting sources for current events like good magazines and websites that offer relevant material.Even if one read english to gather sources, its always tough to translate effectively. Ex- Science and technolgy terms, economics, IR, society etc.Definitely one has to put more effort than english candidates but if one is confident and can really manage, it can fetch good marks. The most important thing is that one should be able to make correct judgement that in what language he can communicate or put his thoughts better.

Is it okay to mix first person and third person when writing a story?

Is it a big mistake? Not necessarily. But, having said that...Doing something like this requires skill. It's going to be jarring to the reader, so if you're going to make it work, there will have to be a clear and consistent use for it, and a structural reason that the story is written that way. If it's just a gimmick, or you can't decide how to write the story so you just mixed perspectives at random, the reader probably isn't going to want to come along for the ride. There are writers who've used all kinds of unorthodox structures to tell good, engaging stories. William Faulkner, Iain Banks, Italo Calvini, Joseph Heller, and David Mitchell spring to mind as examples. But tinkering with the expected narrative flow or structure of a book is a tricky business that takes care and consideration. It's not something to undertake lightly. If there isn't a compelling reason why your story has to be told that way, you might be better served to rewrite it from a consistent perspective.

Should I read Voltaire's Candide, or More's Utopia?

They're both good books, but I would go with "Candide". It's a lighter
book than "Utopia", it has moments of comedy that are almost slapstick.
Voltaire gets his message across less heavy-handedly than More.
Also, when you read More you know he's a medieval writer; Voltaire has
a much more modern tone to his prose. "Candide" also has the benefit
of being a short book.
