Which Position On Or Auto Will Be The Most Economical Way To Save The Most Money

Does using tiptronic transmission save gas?

Tiptronic is a trade name for advanced auto transmissions used in some car brands. It includes the torque converter, so its fuel economy shouldn't be extraordinary, like that of the VW Group's DSG (double-clutch gearbox, a converter-free efficient automatic transmission installed even on some Ferraris).
However, you can do a lot to burn less fuel by adopting and/or changing some habits - cruising at constant speed, selecting comfort gear-change setting, if available, keeping your tires slightly overinflated and the car in good shape, getting rid of any trunk junk. Let the transmission do its own shifting. In auto mode, the selector may be in any position, it will shift up to that gear, which is why the highest should be selected in most (normal) situations. If you use paddles or shifter to shift yourself, shift up early and shift down late, except on downhills, like with a normal manual transmission. Try to make the engine work below and up to its max torque. Avoid fast acceleration, especially uphill.
Yes, engine braking saves both gas and brakes, especially in engines equipped with fuel cut-off valves (most recent ones).

Can you save fuel by putting your car in neutral down a hill?

No, you will typically use MORE fuel instead of saving any. When you go down a hill, all modern cars will simply turn off the fuel flow. If the hill is steep enough to keep up your speed, the car will use no fuel at al. However, if you put the car in neutral in that same situation, the car will still use fuel to keep the motor running. Obviously, in that case, you are using more fuel, and not saving at all!In the first case, gravity is not only moving the car for you, but also turning the engine. In the second case, gravity is not turning the engine, but you are spending fuel to do so. That's why you are wasting fuel instead of saving.Obviously, in the latter case, your car will tend to go faster, because gravity doesn't spend energy on turning the engine. If you have to brake, this energy goes to waste. (And you have replaced this by burning fuel to turn the engine)If you don't have to brake, because the hill is very gentle, then a modern car will inject just enough fuel to generate enough force to get to your desired speed. Part of the effort to propell the car will be delivered by gravity, and part by fuel. In the best case scenario, the part that is delivered by fuel is exactly the same as just running the engine idle when in neutral. I.e. in both cases, gravity is only propelling the car, and the fuel is used to run the engine idle. In any other situation where you put the car in neutral, you either need to brake, and thus waste energy, or you care going slower than you want, which ALSO wastes energy, as you have the car running idle for longer, compared to not being in neutral. Conclusion: You will never save any fuel by going in neutral.

Did obama save the US auto industry?

No. He didn't save anything or anyone.

Does a car's AC consume more fuel if I put it on HI power?

Your car has old-school compressor which is either on or off. But if you turn your fan up that means that compressor can work more to cool more quantity of air. If it is switched on but air* is already as cold as possible (1 degree above freezing) it will pause for 5–30 seconds and start again. This pause means no fuel wasted. That literally means if you minimize air quantity (low fan speed) that will minimize time compressor is on.Imagine a refrigerator. If you keep the door closed not a lot of heat gets in and fridge is mostly silent (maybe an hour of work during whole day). If you keep opening the door and letting more heat it it will try to cool much more. Same with car AC. Less air to cool - less work.If it gets too cold just half-shut the vents, don't blow on the legs/windscreen. If it is still too cold switch fan to zero for few minutes. This will also switch off AC. Turning heat knob a little bit to red will allow air to be more warm. That will almost not use any extra fuel. But the ultra-eco mode is closing the vents so airflow is restricted even at LOWEST fan speed.DO NOT DRIVE WITH OPEN WINDOWS on highway. Only low speed driving is fine. And no fan at all!*evaporator, but that is more complicated to explain.

I have a throttle position going bad and i need help badly?

My thermostat fan has three settings: Auto, On and Circ. Which should I use to save the most money?

It is driving me nuts! The thermostat is a fancy electronic one and when I turn the cooling system off, the fan still kicks on. We are trying to save money on the electric bill! I can find details online that describe on and auto...but the "circ" option is not included. I assume "circ" means circulate.
