Which Shoe Should I Go For Need Help

I need running shoes... help?

Getting the right running shoes is one of the most important things you can do as a runner. In fact, having shoes that don't fit properly is one of the leading causes of leg injuries among runners. Ignore brand names, colors, fancy advertising - none of that matters. The first thing you need to do is find a running store (ie, a store that focuses specifically on runners & running - NOT a big chain sporting goods store) and tell the clerk that you are in the market for your first pair of running shoes and need a fitting. They should measure your foot in several different directions, watch you walk and run both barefoot and in shoes, and have you try on several different types of shoe. (If they don't do this, go somewhere else.) Don't worry about what the shoes look like - go with the ones that feel the best on your feet.

As for the price, you can expect to spend between $100 & $150 on a quality pair. I know it seems like a lot, but wearing the wrong shoes can end up costing much more in doctor and physical therapy bills. Shoes are really the only major expense when it comes to running, though, and having the right pair is incredibly important in terms of injury prevention, so don't skimp, on matter how much you may be tempted. Once you've been fitted and know what type & brand of shoe works the best for you, you can look for sales & bargains when it's time for your next pair.

Finally, be sure wear your shoes ONLY for running and no other activities (the motion involved in non-running activities can cause running shoes to break down faster), and to track how many miles you run in your shoes. Most pairs last around 300 - 500 miles, depending on the runner; after that, the midsoles wear out (even though the outer part of the shoe may look fine) and it's time for another pair.

Best of luck!

I need help with dance shoes, pointe shoes and tap shoes?

NEVER ever ever ever ever ever EVER buy pointe shoes online. Ever. Period. You absolutely MUST go for a professional fitting. They're not like a sneaker that will break in and fit everybody so long as your feet are sort of the same size. Pointe shoes are sculpted to fit certain foot sizes, shapes, and types. If you don't get them fitted and you end up in shoes that are too big/small/narrow/wide, all you'll have are broken ankles, missing toenails, blisters, bunions, corns, and ingrown nails....among other things.

Tap shoes can be sold with or without a tap. You can buy any tap you want within your price range.

I sort of have a hard time believing you've been en pointe for 4 years (and a harder time believing you were allowed en pointe after only one year) but are still in a Capezio (beginner shoe) and don't know how to properly buy pointe shoes. You should be replacing them every 20-30 hours. At most, you'll get a month or two out of a pair of pointe shoes.

Going and buying them in store may be more expensive, but it will cost less than your doctors bills if you don't get proper shoes.

As far as tap shoes go, you'll do well in a Bloch. They're better than Capezio at an intermediate level. I wear the Capezio Gregory Hines shoe and love them, but that is the only Capezio shoe I've ever liked.

Need help on buying Aldo shoes?

I love Aldo! If you order on the internet, it's free return shipping. You can order 100 pairs and not buy a single one and not spend a penny on return shipping.

My aldo boots lasted 3 years and I wore them ALL THE TIME. They tend (in women's, anyways) to have a "slim fit": they are quite narrow. If you have really wide feet they're a bad idea, but otherwise go for it!

POINTE SHOE HELP PLEASE !?

bunheads has a great stich kit with instructions and really good needles and thread. before i start sewing mine, i colapse the heel of the shoe over the inside and mark where the line of fabric is on the inside. then i fold a little bit of my ribbon at the end and place it on the same angle as the line drawn and a little in front of the line. then you would sew a square around the edges of the ribbon with an 'x' going through it. repeat this for all ribbons. as for elastics, decide how tight they need to be and then sew them on either the inside or outside of your heel by sewing just a box on the edges. if this is confusing to you, then just get the stich kit because what i am saying is the exact same as what is in the little booklet. and sorry for the long answer, i'm just trying to describe what i do with my shoes :]

Why do we need arch support in our shoes but not when we're barefoot?

Personal experience. It’s thought that good arch support helps to keep our feet in a position that maintains a certain alignment with our whole skeleton. One element out of place sets off a chain reaction. But I have to wonder about all the groups of humans who never wore shoes, much less with arch supports, in their entire lives. Don’t know if any study has been on those people. As a small child, toddler, I guess it was noted that I had flat feet, and during that time the idea was that flat feet needed support, so I ended up in high-top lace-ups. They didn’t help; I’ve had inward pronation my entire life, so bad that I can hardly navigate now without decent support. Advice to others: if you have a similar lifelong history, be sure you’re taking care to move ahead correctly.I’ve read in more recent history that my mother’s method was wrong (not that she didn’t believe it to be right, bless her) and I should’ve been allowed to run around barefoot, thus strengthening those arches and ankles. I’ve also read that babies just learning to walk ought to go barefoot as much as possible. We have a barefoot writer here on Quora who wears no shoes, practically at all. When I can track down his name I’ll add it to this post.I’m sorry I can’t be of more help here. It seems that humans have evolved in billions of different small ways, probably so the weaker among us could eventually weeded out for the better good of the whole. Modern discoveries combined with a need to eradicate all the inhibiting factors that slow down natural evolution seems to have created an odd problem. Our species’ advancement opportunities are slowed down while other species are by and large up to their own devices.Such a thoughtful question you ask, and this is all I have to offer, given I’ve no medical or anthropological degree to give it more depth. It just seems, IMO, that a natural way of learning to walk in the beginning of life would naturally contribute to better support later.Last thought: Learned the hard way is that the human frame is vital to the well-being of the entire body. All the joints and ligaments contribute individually and as part of the whole to align everything up so our soft internals are adversely affected.Wish I could’ve been more help.

Which shoes should I get for football conditioning!? Help Please! +10 for Best Answer?

Hey guys, I need help picking out shoes for my conditioning for football. I'm going to be playing varsity football next year and were going to begin conditioning starting monday after school. I want to get some running/training shoes for football and was wondering if you guys could help me pick out some. I don't need cleats yet, and am getting them later. I was interested in getting Nike Lunaracers or Nike Flex Runs. I don't want to spend over $70-80 dollars on shoes, but I need your help on which ones to get.
In our football conditioning were going to be running 40 yard dashes soon, so I don't want any bulky shoes and would really prefer if they were lightweight yet comfortable.

Heres a link to the Lunaracers and the Flex Runs.

HELP!! Fashioned-challenged MOG needs help with accessories for my son's wedding?

I would go with the silver shoes and bag dyed to match your dress. The bag should have silver trimmings and some diamond studs would be compimentary. A simple silver diamond necklace (as to not outshine the bride) with matching earrings. When I say diamonds that means clear shiney stones (affordable). As for the shoes, comfort would be my main concern. If the dress is not full length I would go with the open toe. Full length you could go either way. I like the color of your dress.

What kind of shoes should i wear to cedar point?

Wear the gym shoes. Don't worry about getting them wet. You need something to protect your feet. Something that is not going to fly off your feet. Cedar Point is the Jumbo Jet and the big wheel in the sky.

You don't want to be carrying anything with you like flip flops because they will be a bother. If you wear flip flops you could get sunburn on the tops of your feet, you don't want that either. Just wear the shoes!
