Which Should I Replace In My Computer First

Can I replace my computer's graphics card?

As others have said, given the information you've given us, its pretty hard to say yes or no.Question 1: Is it a laptop or desktop? If its a laptop, the answer will be NO NO NO NO NO. Did I mention you can't upgrade laptop gpu's? Ok, well, techincally its possible, but considering you're asking this question (no offense), its a definite no. If we're talking about a desktop, most likely, yes. The first order of business is to check your power supply. Considering the fact that you've told us that you're not very tech savvy, I'm assuming you have a pre-built computer. Pre-built computers generally = crappy power supply. I suggest you also post pictures of your power supply including the label. Make sure the wattage is included. While not very common, a bad power supply can destroy your entire system. It looks like your computer is more of an entry-level one so I'll assume the the capacity of the PSU (Power Supply) is around 300-450 watts. While you won't be slapping a Titan X in it anytime soon, there are alot of low-power GPU's to choose from. The first thing that comes to mind is NVIDIA's 900 series which is running off the Maxwell architecture. One of the main selling points of the Maxwell architecture is its power efficiency. You'd probably best be served by a GTX 950 which ranges from $150-175. There's also the 750ti which is about $125-150 and is another low-energy card. The graphics card is probably the easiest part to install in a computer. Most computers have at least one PCI-E slot like this:The PCI-E slot is the top, dark blue one. the bottom slot is a PCI slot.Don't worry if your computer's slot doesn't have the tab at the end, that's simply a locking mechanism for added support but is not integral to the functioning of the card. I HIGHLY recommend also researching a bit more into the subject yourself. You'll find its not really that complicated. If anything, building a computer is like playing with a big, expensive set of Leggos. Good Luck!

Can I replace a single slot of ram on my computer?

Your RAM slots don’t have capacities; your RAM cards do. On basically all motherboards, every RAM slot is the same.Currently, you have one 8 GB RAM card, and one 4 GB RAM card. If you replace the 4 GB card with an 8 GB, then it shouldn’t cause any problems, as long as it has the same format as the other one.The format for most RAM cards is DDR3, but some high end systems use DDR4, and (although it doesn’t matter to you) some GPUs use GDDR5.

You feel most of your desktop computers need to be replaced. Explain your strategy?

Rocky Mountain University is an institution of higher education located in the mountains of
Colorado. It has a network of servers and desktop computers that were installed in 2000.
The hardware consists of the following setup:
• 25 PowerPC Macintosh computers
• Four Dell Pentium 4 servers
• Two HP servers running on the Alpha CPU
• 160 desktop computers running on the AMD Duron CPU
• 25 desktop computers running on the Intel Core Duo CPU
• 45 desktop computers running on the Pentium 4 CPU

The Question is : The director is pleased with your server recommendations and asks that you now design a strategy for upgrading their desktop hardware. They feel that most of their desktop computers need to be replaced. You should explain your strategy.

I wouldn't ask for help unless I really needed it. Thank you.

Why shouldn't computers replace teachers?

I have to debate the following motion in front of the whole school tomorrow:
THBT Computer Technology will replace teachers.
I'm in the opposition team, and well, it's rather an even topic, which different perspectives all around the world. My first argument would be that computers obviously lack qualia (the way we see things and react to them). Therefore, a computer who teaches won't be able to empathize with any student that is going through a hard event such as the dead of a relative.

For example: Pedro is 9 years old and his school decides to replace students with computers. Pedro's father suddenly dies due to X reasons, and the kid's academical performance lowers dramatically. A teacher, of course, would be able to understand his feeling and emotions, and may even send him or reccomend a psychologists. A computer will never, however, understand his low marks and may even consider it as a mere natural decrease. Hence the debate comes into the topic: empathizing. I haven't finished my research yet, but I would like some feedback and some other ideas on why shouldn't computers replace teachers.

My computer's sound card has been destroyed is it hard to replace?

Before you invest in a new sound card, try just reinstalling the drivers for it. Open Device Manager (Right click on My Computer and go to Properties, then click Hardware tab then click Device Manager button), then check if there are any problems with your sound card in there. Also, check Dell's website to see if there is an updated driver for it.

What should I check if want to replace my computer motherboard?

First of all, you need to check the processor you have. Every processor is built for a specific socket, while while purchasing a motherboard, you must check this thing first. Your motherboard should have same socket as your processor needs. Also, if u plan on overclocking, u'll need a z series board.Second, look at your RAM, It can be DDR3 or DDR4. If you have ddr4 ram, then your motherboard must support it.Next is PCI-E slots. If you are planning to use more than one gpu, then your board must have more than one PCI-e x16 slots. Also, if you plan on using two nVidia cards together, then the board must be certified by nVidia.Rest of the things are not as important, but you can still look for them is no. Of USB 3.0 or 3.1 ports, no. Of sata ports, support for M.2 drive etc.

Should I replace my 720p monitor or install internet at home first for gaming?

Install internet first. Most of the current games can run at 720p. However, if you don’t have internet access, you will miss out on increasingly common social and multiplayer features.

Will quantum computers eventually replace classical computers any time soon?

No. Not anytime soon, and certainly not the way you may think of it. First quantum computers are still a long way down the road (the problem being the engineering, not the theory). You may see systems emerge, most likely designed to solve a very specific problem, and some possibly “programmable” to a certain point (like D-Wave). But do not expect this to be your desktop or laptop. These systems will live in a remote facility or in the cloud and available as a service. But most importantly, it is fundamental to understand that quantum computers only fare better than classic systems when it comes to solve a very particularly category or class of problems (non-polynomial or NP), in other cases, their classic counterpart will perform as well or even better. We also only know today a handful of quantum algorithms (it’s not obvious to program), and while in theory they should perform better, the “optimized” classic version can often easily beat them (Groover search being a good example). So the most likely scenario is that both classic and quantum computers will simply co-exist, the quantum system being there to complement the classic system when it comes to solve specific problems that would other take a long time to compute. I see this a bit similar to the “co-processor”.This is why is it important in my view for quantum computers, whenever they truly materialize, to be designed for interoperability with classic systems (e.g. cloud, web services, co-processing hardware).
