Which State Allows Second Year High School Seniors To Participate In Sports

Transfer for Senior Year of High School, for Sport?

Before you transfer, check with the governing body that regulates high school sports in your state. Some states won't just allow you to transfer schools and play sports unless your family has moved. This keeps schools from recruiting star athletes from other teams. My nephew plays b-ball (2 guard)& football (q-back) and wants to attend the school in my town. We checked into it and unless his parents move, he would have to sit out of all sports for one year. He will be a junior, so he would still have his senior year. He's going to stay at his current school. Since you will be a senior, I would check before you change schools. You could also try to hook up with an AAU b-ball team in your area. College scouts attend AAU tournaments. I hope this helps. Good luck.

In high school or college, did any sports team you played on ever win a championship?

Yes. All four years the Gig Harbor High School swim team I was on won the Narrows League championships, and three years we won Districts. The closest we ever came to winning state though was 2nd place; we got third place two years, fourth place one year.We only lost one dual meet, to Stadium High School but then beat Stadium at both Narrows League and Districts. At Narrows League I heard their coach whining at some of his swimmers saying “we might as well give it to Gig Harbor” after four of their divers did not show up.We had only one diver that year and that was why Stadium won the dual meet.

Is it too late to do volleyball sophomore year of high school?

As I high school coach and a long-time player, I can tell you it's never too late to start playing. Certainly starting later puts you at a disadvantage, but it's something you can quickly overcome with hard work. A gymnastics/sports background certainly helps a lot, though there may be some "bad" habits you need to beware of (for instance, I often see basketball players struggle with their hitting approach). Here's what you should focus on:1) Play club in the off-season. Club season last much longer than high school season, and it's a great opportunity to improve your skills. DO NOT just look for the strongest club in the area. FIND A GOOD COACH. Often these overlap, but I know a few clubs whose strength is sustained by reputation (and influx of already strong players), not by their (current) coaching staff. Likewise, many strong coaches are more interested in developing players than joining the most competitive club in their area.2) Go for it. Go to tryouts (I guess it's too late this year, but definitely next year). If you school holds open gyms, go to those. TALK TO THE COACHES. Find out what you can do to improve. They will be happy to help (if they're not, they're not good coaches and the program isn't worth your time). Contrary to popular belief, we like it when players come up to talk to us and ask us questions, and we're always happy to help you out :)3) This is especially important as a new player who is trying to catch up to others. BE A TEAM PLAYER. It's easy to get caught up in improving yourself, and worrying about catching up to everyone, and that's not a bad thing, but at the end of the day, volleyball is a team sport. The strongest player on the team is not always the most skilled. It's the player that makes everyone else better. It's simple math: putting my strongest player on the court improves 1 out of 6 positions. Putting my friendliest, most supportive, most encouraging player on the court improves the other 5.

Can you play football in high school as a 5th year senior?

Ask your coach. We don't even know what state you're in.

Can you be 19 and still play sports in high school?

depends on the state. check with you AD at your school. In Nebraska if you turn 19 before a certain date you are not allowed to play (or at least that was a rule in the 80's)

Im 16 years old, Sophomore in High School, Which College?!?

You can certainly do all that at the Coast Guard Academy.

Some things to consider - USCGA is not just an education, it represents a career choice as you'll serve as a USCG officer after graduation. Great if that's what you want, not so great if it's not.

Purdue is a Big Ten school, plays NCAA Division 1 sports. Great fun to watch, but unless you're an All-State high school athlete, you probably won't be able to play NCAA. USCGA plays NCAA Division 3. If you're good enough for high school varsity, you're generally good enough to make a NCAA Div 3 team.

You also don't have to limit yourself to just one of these school choices. For example, I graduated from USCGA with a degree in Civil Engineering. Later, the Coast Guard sent me (at their expense) to the University of Illinois for a graduate degree in CE. I got to experience both the small school and the Big 10.

Both are great schools though, and will take some work to get in to. Study hard, keep playing sports, and good luck!

How many years did allen iverson play in his highschool basketball team?

According to answers.com

In his senior year he led Bethel High School's football team to a state championship. He was excelling in basketball also until the night of February 13, 1993. Iverson and some friends were at a bowling alley when a fight broke out which then escalated into a brawl divided along racial lines. Of the 50 or so participants involved in the fight, only four black teenagers were charged--one of them Iverson. Though video of the incident did not show Iverson at all and he testified that he left the bowling alley when the brawl started, two other witnesses said that he threw a chair at a woman. The 17-year-old was tried as an adult and sentenced to five years in prison for maiming by mob.

Iverson went to jail for four months before the governor of Virginia commuted his sentence under the condition that he not play organized sports until he graduated from high school. Two years later his conviction was overturned by the State Court of Appeals. Though the incident is erased from his legal record,
