Which State In The Usa Is A Better Holiday Destination

What are some good holiday destinations in October?

India.Pleasant weather in most parts of the country.Festivals in October - Diwali - Wikipedia, Vijayadashami - WikipediaFrom snow-covered mountains (Jammu and Kashmir) to beaches (in Kerala), from loud nightlife (in Goa) to serene day-life (in Uttarakhand or Himachal Pradesh) you could visit any/all in October. So, depending on the kind of person you are, choose any state in India :)Note - Being an Indian, I can promote India, right? *giggles*

What is the best vacation destination in the US?

Three main suggestions:(1) Driving Trip - California (and throw in detour to Las Vegas and/or Grand Canyon).  San Francisco should be near the top of any list as a "must see" destination in the U.S.  The city itself is a jewel, it has outstanding wineries nearby, and great opportunities for outdoor recreation in the Marin area.  From there, head over to Yosemite National Park.  Try to hit that in the middle of the week and, above all else, avoid the holiday weekends.  Alternatively, you can drive down the coastal route (which is great scenery) toward Santa Barbara.  Either way, hit the beaches in Los Angeles (Malibu is particularly good, though Venice is also interesting).  From LA, either continue south for more beaches in San Diego or head east to Vegas/Grand Canyon.(2) Beach & Hiking - try Maine/New Hampshire (if August/early September are options). I went there last year and it was a great experience.  We really enjoyed the southern coast (near Ogunquit) - sleepy, slower beach towns with clear water that is actually warm enough to swim in comfortably in the late summer months.  Bar Harbor is nice, as well, but a little more remote and it'll take some time in the car to get up there.  If you go to Bar Harbor, be sure to rent a few kayaks and get out on the water.  The sunset tours are particularly good.  New Hampshire is a blast - great hiking, nice weather, good rivers.  You can also combine this with a quick tour of Boston (in fact, if you're flying in, that makes an excellent start point).(3) Beach, just beach.  In February-April, try Miami/south Florida.  Weather is generally good and there's a ton to do.Other possibilities are NY, Chicago, Pacific Northwest, Yellowstone or Tetons, Alaska, Hawaii... this could get to be a really long list.

Would Hawaii or Cancun be a better destination for a family vacation?

My family and I want to visit either Hawaii or Cancun over summer for some fun. Our family consists of two adults and two children (12 yrs & 15 yrs). I've been reading that Cancun has more beautiful beaches and is cheaper, but is mostly for nightlife and partying, whereas Hawaii is expensive but more family oriented. Can someone give us some opinions on the two? Thank you!

Is Hawaii Overrated tourist destination?

Sorry you found your visit to Hawaii overrated.

I can understand your puzzlement as you are familiar with a lot of beautiful places.

To me, Hawaii is more than a beautiful place, scenery, sunsets. Hawaii --not the Waikiki tourist trap and disney artificial-stick-it-anywhere-in-the-worl... BS-- but the REAL Hawaii, is more than just my home. It is home to the Hawaiian people, and the Aloha spirit, and so many people say that the Aloha and the people makes Hawaii like nowhere else in the world, and I have to agree.

I am enjoying seeing the changes of the past 30 years, and how the Hawaiian culture is reviving from almost being killed and turned into a theme park caricature of itself. It is historic, and real, and something that most visitors do not see. The Hawaiian people deserve independence, sovereignty, the right to live and worship and eat and take care of the land as their ancestors did. The struggle is authentic. The Waikiki experience is ...not likely to be so. It does sell, and those who sell it are not usually Hawaiian although many Hawaiians end up being a part of it in some way, sometimes because they are trying to improve the situation, sometimes because they are still learning about it.

So, yes, there is a lot of hullabaloo, and most of it, in my opinion, is about a commoditized Hawaii. The real Hawaii is promised but not delivered. To many people, it is good enough, even great. Imagine how amazing the real thing is!

To get the real Hawaii, you have to spend time with Hawaiians where they live, pushed to the worst land in the (colonized nation) state with the fewest resources. The aloha they offer to those who come with open hearts and open minds is breathtaking. Anyone can provide great hospitality to a paying customer. Hawaiian people LIVE IT. And they aren't the ones pushing hardest to bring paying visitors to Hawaii.

The great thing about being a world traveler is you can see a lot of places and rate them. The sad thing is, you may not be able to linger long enough to see what is there to be appreciated.

Aloha

Where's a cheap exotic vacation destination?

I'm not sure where you're coming from. I'm from Michigan and over the last decade (plus), I've done quite a bit of traveling to various places in the Caribbean, Mexico, and to Costa Rica. Generally, the airfare is half the cost of the trip. From experience, some of the most inexpensive places I have been include the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and parts of Mexico(like Cancun or Cozumel). My favorite place is Cozumel- very laid-back atmosphere with great snorkeling/diving and enough activities, bars, restaraunts to keep you busy for a week or so. Don't know what your definitiion of "cheap" is so a couple of basic hotels to check out in Cozumel are the Casa Del Mar and the Hotel Barracuda. Went to Negril, Jamaica a few years ago all-inclusive in March for under $600 per person and stayed at the Hotel Sam Sara (which was like a one star hotel but was adequate for us). Sam Sara is on the cliffs with no beach, a small pool and little activity (which was actually nice); the food was okay but the meals got routine and boring so we simply walked across the street for breakfast at Choices or went out to one of the bar/restaraunts (LTU and Kayuba were good). Best thing about Sam Sara is that it had a sister resort-Legends-on the beach so if you stayed at either you could take the free shuttle to the other resort and spend the day(and eat, use the facilities, etc. like anyone staying there) which we regularly did; when we had our fill of the busy beach and being "solicited" by the locals (because the beaches are public anyone can roam them thats why cliff beaches are quiter/more private) we returned to our quiet little resort. Dominican Republic and Cancun are also places that offer good deals because they can offer cheaper prices due to the large number of tourists they bring in; Cancun is for the person that likes the beach and loves to party and the Dominican may be best for the person that just likes to stay at their (usually quite luxurious) resort. Look at www.gocozumel.com or www.negril.com or www.dominicanrepublic.com and www.cancun.com to help you out. If I can be of any more help, message me.

I am travelling to USA or Dubai for work. Which destination is the better place?

Ok, I grew up in the States, spent a while traveling the world, and live in Dubai right now, so I am probably an expert on this.It is hard to save any money in Dubai. There is a limited selection of things to do, and the summer heat means that you spend a lot of time in the mall or shopping. But it IS very glitzy and parts are very modern. But there is limited culture and variety. But no street crime, everyone being bling and looking good, it is a BIT addictive. The US had a great deal of variety, and top notch cultural things to do. You can save some money in the States. There is way more RANGE in the US too. But I noticed you didn't say where, and in the States it is all about where….Personally, I wouldn't really recommend either of them…the future is in China or Singapore I think…
