Which Toothpaste Would You Recomend For Minor Decay

Can you stop tooth decay?

I went to the dentist's office. They told me I have 3 minor cavities. So we all know that if cavities are left alone, the decay grows and will turn into needing a root canal. My question is, if you develop cavities (due to poor dental hygiene like I did), can you stop the tooth decay from growing by exercising great dental care? I brush at least twice a day now, I floss at least once, sometimes twice, and I use the best mouthwash available every morning and night. I was told this will prevent the decay from growing, is this true?

Can I reverse this minor decay in my tooth?

I had my regular checkup yesterday, and as the hygenist was checking for cavities, she found one spot that she thought was just barely sticking, indicating that it could be decay. She wasn't sure, and said that it could just be sticking in the groove a bit. Also nothing showed up on the xray that was just taken. The dentist then looked at it and decided that it should be filled "just to be safe," and that it is a "very small spot."

I've been researching a bit, and it sounds like there is a chance that the decay could be reversed by using flouride as long as it isn't past the enamel. Judging by what they had to say, I'm guessing this isn't past the enamel. Would the explorer (pokey metal thing) actually stick in the tooth if the decay is only in the enamel? It just barely stuck at all.

I'm a little fussy about this, since I haven't had a new filling in probably 15 years (had an old one redone recently) and brush and floss religiously. I really don't want another filling.

How do I remove minor dental cavities at home?

Here are just a few ways to reverse cavities naturally for you to consider, while also avoiding fluoride:1. Remove SugarProbably the worst culprit of them all for anyone who desires healthy, cavity-free teeth, sugar should be avoided like the plague. So kick that sugar addiction stat. Not only does sugar feed oral bacteria that prevents a healthy flow of dental fluids, but it’s highly acidic & can literally decalcify or demineralize the structural content of teeth that create dental decay2. Eliminate Phytic AcidPhytic acid (phytate) is a mineral blocker and enzyme inhibitor found in grains, nuts, seeds and beans that can cause serious health problems in our diets. The main reason phytic acid has become an issue today is because we have stopped ancient food preparation techniques, such as sprouting or sourdough fermentation, which kills off the phytic acid.3. Consume Raw Dairy & Nutrient-Rich FoodsRaw dairy is filled with the vitamins & minerals that contribute to a healthy dental fluid flow and help maintain strong teeth and promote oral wellness. Thus, it’s a great way to get cavity-free teeth. Loaded with calcium, vitamin K2, vitamin D3, magnesium, phosphorus and fat-soluble vitamins, it’s a good idea to consume raw dairy products at least weekly. I recommend goat milk kefir, raw cheeses and organic grass-fed butter as great options.4. Use Mineralizing ToothpasteFirst of all, I know it can get expensive, but there are several brands of fluoride-free toothpaste that you won’t have to pay a small fortune to get your hands on. Second, if you’re looking to save a buck or two and also want to remineralize your teeth in a particularly powerful way, try making your own Homemade Remineralizing Toothpaste:5. Oil PullingUsed for centuries by Ayurvedic medicine, oil pulling is a fantastic oral detoxification procedure that has gained some popularity in the U.S. the last several years. Simply done by swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for 20 minutes, this simple oral detoxification procedure has been praised to cure everything from gingivitis to headaches to systemic diseases like diabetes.

Can one reverse tooth decay or a cavity?

Tooth decay can be stopped or reversed at this point. Enamel can repair itself by using minerals from saliva, and fluoride from toothpaste or other sources. But if thetooth decay process continues, more minerals are lost. Over time, the enamel is weakened and destroyed, forming a cavity. There is a common belief today about cavities that once you have tooth decay, that cavity can NOT be reversed. Then the only solution to oral wellness is to have part of your tooth drilled out and filled with a synthetic material. However, it’s been proven that there are ways to reverse cavities naturally. In fact, according to a study published in the British Medical Journal, cavities and tooth decay could potentially be reversed with diet. (1)A study was performed on 62 children with cavities, and they were divided into three different diet groups. Group 1 ate a standard diet plus oatmeal (rich in phytic acid). Group 2 consumed a normal diet and supplemented with vitamin D. Group 3 ate a grain-free diet and took vitamin D.The results found that Group 1 who had a diet high in grains and phytic acid had an increase in cavities. Group 2 had improvements in cavities and less form. Group 3, who followed a grain-free diet with nutrient-rich foods like vegetables, fruits, meat, milk and took vitamin D, saw the greatest improvements — nearly all cavities were healed. (2)This study, along with the backing of many doctors and dentists, proves we have been misinformed about what causes cavities and how to reverse cavities naturally.

Is it possible that a toothpaste for sensitive teeth could completely mask the pain of a cavity?

Have you ever felt discomfort after a spoonful of hot soup or ice cream? If yes, you are not alone. Short sharp sensation caused by hot or cold foods could be one of the most common sensitive teeth symptoms. Tooth sensitivity occurs as a response to certain stimuli, such as cold or hot temperatures. However, sensitive teeth can be easily treated with a slight change in your oral hygiene regime.Major symptoms of sensitive teethPeople with teeth sensitivity may experience discomfort as a response to some triggers. The most common sensitive teeth symptoms include:Hot beverages and foodsCold beverages and foodsCold airAcidic beverages and foodsSweet beverages and foodsCold water during regular dental cleaningFlossing or brushing teethUsing alcohol-based mouth washHowever, your symptoms may come and go over time for no apparent reason. In addition to this, they may range from mild to intense.Main causes of sensitive teethThere are many people who have more sensitive teeth than others because of having thinner enamel. The enamel is the outer layer of the tooth that safeguards it. In numerous cases, the tooth’s enamel can be worn down from:Using hard-bristled toothbrushForceful brushingGrinding teeth at nightEating and drinking acidic foods and beveragesMoreover, tooth decay, chipped teeth, broken teeth, and worn-down crowns or fillings can leave the dentin of the tooth exposed, causing acute sensitivity. If this is the case, you likely only feel sensitivity in a particular tooth or region in the mouth instead of all teeth.

Can xylitol heal tooth decay on the inside?

I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted last june and 16 was severly infected and caused minor decay to my molar's root underneith it...the oral surgeon said ur good u can rebuild the enamal without needing a filling. Jan rolled around and i had another problem...i went back to regular dentist and hes like um 16 is still there and its infected again. I was pissed and went 2a 2nd oral surgeon and had it properly extracted and 2nd infection cleared

Now there is further damage to my molar root and i am trying to rebuild it Cause id rather gouge my eyes out than have to do a root canal. Can xylitol heal my tooth at the root where the decay lies under the gums? I have been brushing 2ce a day with xylitol enriched toothpaste and swishing with pure xylitol instead of mouth wash, but im still having hot and cold sensitivity. Will it heal in time or am i just screwed.
