Which book is the best for understanding the concept of physics for the IIT-JEE?

There is no single author or book that is the best in all topics. You have to go for different books  and authors for different topics.Mechanics-DC Pandey is the best........Also do HC Verma problems Waves- Ashish AroraElectrostatics and Electrodynamics-Cengage learning(Author-B M Sharma)----Just an amazing book, no other book beats this one.Modern Physics-HC Verma is the masterbookOptics-Cengage (Just the best)Well, don't get scared by the number of books.Anyway, you won't get a single book that has everything at its best. Some people stick to HC Verma while some buy all the books of DC Pandey. I don't think that would do great because each author is not good at everything. For example, personally, I feel DC Pandey has written the book on waves in the worst possible way but you would become a fan of him if u study his rotational dynamics in mechanics part 2. Cengage is a new publisher and most students doesn't quite know about it. I prepared the whole of my Electricity from this book and it became my favourite topic. It has many concepts and shortcuts which no other book says.Again on optics, there is no rival for Cengage, its the ultimate....if u study it thoroughly and do each and every problem in it, u can score 100 per cent in jee adv in this topic.Remember that for cengage, the problems that I talk about is the subjective problems, don't waste ur time doing objective questions from cengage.Sorry that I don't know a good book in fluid dynamics. No book did I find quite interesting and useful. So, for fluid dynamics, I did problems from almost all these as I was not confident enough in this topic. I won't recommend that to you because time is so precious in these 2 yrs. Of course, if you are just gonna begin your 11th std, then you may have enough time for this.

Why am I incapable of understanding math?

Some people have different brain wiring that makes understanding and using math concepts difficult--especially the way they are presented in school today. Math requires a potentially difficult combination of short-term memory, long-term memory, procedure and pattern memory, abstract thinking (in multiple layers), counting skill, language skill, and more. Dyslexia can add difficulty to the challenge.

It can help immensely to have a solid background in play with objects that permit grouping and counting. Legos, cards, jacks--all are helpful at improving your sense of numbers and the ways they group and combine. Similarly, playing with the tools of geometry (ruler, compass, protractor) can give a sense of how geometric figures work and the ways they can be manipulated. Enlarging or reducing drawings using graph paper can get you used to ideas of scale and similarity. A hobby or play with rulers and tape measures can give you an idea of units and their conversion, as well as fractions and their equivalents. Cooking with recipes that you can double or halve is also good math training, as is playing with measuring cups and containers. Card games involving scores and/or chips are also useful. Learning to use an abacus or soroban (my favorite) is excellent training in arithmetic skills. Outdoor games involving direction with a magnetic compass and distance using counted steps (orienteering or mapping) can be good preparation, too.

In times of old, kids did these things as a normal matter of growing up. These days, fast food, cell phones, and video games make most of these modes of play seem obsolete, so math becomes much more mysterious.

It is never too late to start playing in these ways. One high school girl I know enjoyed learning fractions, measures, and other math by making different versions of a Monster Cookie recipe on weekends (with additional tutoring while cookies baked). It helped her graduate and go on to earn college degrees--something that might not have been possible had she failed her math course.

PLEASE HELP. I just can't understand math!?

PLEASE. At least try to read all this?

This year I'm going into eighth grade. Ever since fifth grade, math has been getting harder for me. I'm great in all my other subjects, but I just can't seem to grasp the concept of math. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete idiot, I do understand somethings. For example, I love doing algebra and geometry. But some things just completely stump me. In our school, we're aloud to use calculators on some things. I can do it on a calculator, but give me pen and paper and I can sit there for hours with less than a clue on what to do. When I realize I don't understand, I panic. I'll look around the classroom to see if anyone else gets it and then I'll just feel so hopeless. Sometimes it gets to the point where I honestly don't care if I make an F on an assignment. Sometimes I truly want to cry. One day I got so mad because I couldn't turn a freaking fraction into a stupid percentage that I yelled at my best friend. I do that too, I get so frustrated that I can't understand and I turn agitated. I'll admit that sometimes I tend to fall asleep in math, which only makes it worse. I refuse to ask questions out loud in class. What makes it so much worse though, is that my dad gets mad at me if I don't understand or get a bad grade. Some days I wonder if I'll be able to make it past high school and get a good job. It scares me. There's soooo much I can't do and soooo much I still have to learn. I guess what I'm basically asking is: What can I do to calm myself down when I start to panic? What can I do to keep my attention on the lesson when I get distracted? How can I stay awake? Should I ask for a little help after school or work with it at home with my parents? Will it get any better in high school? How can I have more confidence in myself? I'll also take any other techniques or advice you have to offer. I need help. :( I'm so scared I won't be good enough at this.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

What is better for learning: watching video lectures or reading books?

While learning it is not about the speed, but about the understanding. I would give an example of learning to program with node.js, because I have both read a book and watched a video tutorial. My findings:Videos usually give you a walk-through. It gives you just enough understanding to get something to work.Books, on the other hand should give you a solid understanding, the base upon which you can build something. It IS slower to acquire knowledge reading a book. Slower in a sense, that seeing the result of your learning might take longer, until you figure out how to tie the pieces together.Videos are faster if you are anxious to see anything working. In my opinion it is giving a false sense of accomplishment. However those two methods combined can give a better result - watch the video first, to see what is your topic about, then grab a book to get a solid understanding of what you saw on the video.

Do you need math to become a video game developer?

It depends on what aspect of developing you want to get into. For programming or basic software design you will need some degree of mathematical skill, at least be able to know how a calculator works and functions (and yes I do mean the scientific calculator.)

However, if you are more into visual design, then perhaps the route of concept artist might be applicable. A degree in graphic art coupled with some courses learning specific drawing and 3D rendering software. Maths not really needed, just the understanding of how the software works.

There is also creative writing if you feel storyboards or narrative are more your thing.

Marketing, advertising and/or communication sciences if you feel more inclined towards publishing.

Bottom line: Maths is an important subject regardless. Having low scores will mark you for the rest of your life (regardless of whether or not you use it.) Aim to be at least a C student. It'S not brilliant, but enough to say you're not a dunce.

What are the best books for theory in math for IIT-JEE preparation?

Well nothing can beat the DEADLY COMBINATION I am going to give:)Firstly start the chapter with Mohit Tyagi sir video lectures and prepare NOTES…. BEST TEACHER IN WORLD and WHOLE course is uploaded on YouTube for FREE(thanks to his Generous nature BTW he is Head of Resonance )2.Re-read the notes again and reattempt solved illustrations after first reading after few days. Then take up the best book available.. Trust me it's the best… that is CENGAGE Mathematics by G Tewani(Set of 6 books)Trust me each penny invested in it is worth Gold :)3.Way of doing questions is important for any book or package … many people think that solved illustration is first to be done first without seeing the solution and then matching with the answer BUT this is the biggest BLUNDER you are MAKING . JUST think if solved examples need to be solved like unsolved wouldn't they be in UNSOLVED EXERCISE in the Back???4. So BEST WAY to solve them is first read 10–15 questions with their complete solution and then redo it after 6 to 8 Hours or next day(This time WITHOUT seeing Solutions) and I bet you will not be able to do quite few of them as you won't be able to recollect. So now again see it and redo it. This way your brain capacity will increase day by day with doing this.5.Now attempt BACK exercises and all types of questions including concept application type and subjective and multi - correct.6.Now write all your doubts and clarify with anybody whether teacher or friend.7.Now attempt ARCHIVE (previous year.. First JEE MAIN then JEE ADVANCED.8.After few days or months for REVISION reattempt ALL the PROBLEMS you have solved and redo all of them. Now MANY people would advice you to attempt only those you have CIRCLED but RE-VISION mean re doing all questions. You can skip those which are easy and you remember their solutions.9.Now for further practice for new problems you can attempt any coaching package or any revision module and mock test papers.LINK:Mohit Tyagi (BEST… trust me you won't repent after seeing his teaching once:)Previous years :JEE Main Question Papers with Answer Keys: Attempt, Download and AnalyseAdvanced :JEE Advanced Question Papers with Answer Keys: Attempt, Download and AnalyseP.S.: Follow me for more JEE related stuff and strategies. Do upvote the answer if you found it useful.)

What are some good YouTube channels to watch videos on concepts of physics, chemistry and math for IIT JEE preparation?

HELLO FOLKS!!When I prepared for JEE, every second, minute and day mattered to me, it becomes a race that I needed to win.I preferred youtube first for training myself with the preparation but it did not turn out to be a good experience. I wasted most of my time looking out for perfect Youtube channel for lecture even when I got one I was unable to watch below is a screenshot why? This screenshot is from My system even today. There are channels likeEr DushantEtoosAny_time_padhaiThey all have sample videos and after that ask for payment for complete. These channels do provide free videos but later on they do not give free videos then they ask to buy it or else they will just show us the trailer and ask to buy the complete videos and more book which becomes very tremendous.Searching and wasting time on YouTube should be immediately stopped (My Personal Advice)I watched these YouTube videos till class 11th, but with time I realized I have been wasting a lot of time with all of this video, I began with these and end up watching some other video. It is a very big distraction to watch these YouTubechannels especially with all the trendy drama and new movies and internet. After that, I used Kaysons education website to study for my JEE preparation and indeed it helped me. With the perfection that they teach the subject makes you realize the concepts.Even though they have paid service it is worth a watch. It is still cheaper than other websites. They were able to clear my doubts which other platforms were not offering. They provide videos in USB and SD card So it is worth the penny. There are other sites which you can try.PLANCESS:Nucleon:Frankly, I feel that YouTube is a very big distraction, we might start seeing different videos and lose our path. So YouTube should never be used for watching videos. As we can see there are so many other video and channels also which can be a huge distraction for us while we are studying. So my personal advice is this that we should avoid YouTube when it comes to studying.THANKS:)
