It was all about his guitar playing it got under your skin & into your soul-Cameron Crowe (movie guy)

What is the best blues cover by a non-blues artist?

“Baby Please Don’t Go” by AC/DC. Even though their early songs had Blues influences - along with Angus Young’s passion & style (just listen to any of his solos; there’s fiercely aggressive Blues licks aplenty) - they’re really aRock bnad (as Angus himself as often stated - modelled on the Chuck Berry ‘School-of-entertainment’ stage antics).Curiously enough, although most of us know that song as being covered in late 1964 Them - to me, by comparison it appears pedestrian compared to the 1974 reinterpretation.Aerosmith also covered it 2004 as part of their ‘Let’s-return-to-our-Blues-roots’ album, but it was nothing but a hackneyed attempt to cover Them’s version - nowhere near the conviction (not convection) of the Aussie band’s version.Baby, Please Don't Go - Wikipedia

Who is the best modern day blues artist?

Man, oh (wo)man......so many to choose from. Quite subjective, this whole "best" thing is. I love so many artists in blues, old and young. I will go completely outside the box and nominate the, extremely, rare woman in a male dominated blues guitar field.None other than Ana Popovic

Who are your favorite jazz or blues artists?

The most inventive and important figure above all was and is Miles Davis who single handedly created the jazz that has produced some of the most respected and leading artists of the genre who are former sidemen such as Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and George Duke all notably keyboard players. In addition John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Dave Liebman were leading saxophonists in Miles’ ensembles. Notable guitarists include John McLaughlin, John Scofield while drummers Tony Williams, Philly “Joe” Jones rank amongst the most famous.Time prevents me from listing a who’s who of contemporary Jazz but of the many whom I’ve enjoyed Charlie Mingus ranks highly amongst those above and Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker, Gary Burton, Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson and Pharaoh Sanders are worthy of your attention. From the Blues side of the fence, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mississippi Fred McDowel, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Howlin’ Wolf, Big Bill Broonzy and Jimmy Reed are some of my favourites.

Who are some good modern blues artists? Who are some underrated ones?

Kenny Neal, Tab Benoit, Chris Cain, Anthony Gomes, Rev.Shawn Amos, Barbara Blue, John Nemeth, Larry Garner, Norman Anderson, Dana Fuchs, Beth Hart, Damon Fowler, Victor Wainwright, Jeff Jenson.

Who is your favorite lesser known blues artist?

Please Send My Baby Back ~ Sunny BlairThis is definitely one of the lesser known songs and artists from the golden age of the blues harp (harmonica), and I wasn't sure if YouTube would even have this track - but I'm glad they do.My rating: Definite 10/10
