Who Are The Biblemen On Facebook

Is it a sin in the Bible for men to wear makeup?

Is it against Christianity for men to wear girly makeup? In the Old Testament it prohibits cross-dressing but wearing makeup is not "dressing." And Christians don't have to abide by Old Testament laws.

Many people believe that a believer in God can by no means depart from the Bible, and that departure from the Bible is betrayal of God. Is such a saying right?

No! For more than than a few reasons.Saying that limits our knowledge of God to the Bible. That would be utterly ridiculous. If God is omniscient, then we are denying His omniscience by confining all knowledge of Him, and thereby all His knowledge to what is found in the Bible. It makes no sense. The Bible teaches us that God will alwayd call prophets[1] and how to discern between a true prophet and a false one.[2] And more importantly who calls prophets[3] and where they get their authority[4][5]The Bible teaches us that there is more than just the Bible. In Ezekiel 37[6] we read about two sticks, (or books) one from Judah, the Jews, and one from Ephraim, so there must be something more to be had.The Bible wasn't even put together in the form we know now until long after it was written.[7]I hope this helps!Footnotes[1] Amos 3[2] Numbers 12[3] Jeremiah 1[4] Hebrews 5[5] Numbers 27[6] Ezekiel 37[7] How We Got Our Bible: Christian History Timeline

How many were named Jesus in the Bible?

The Greek name for Jesus is I·e·sous . In the NT there are 3 that I know of with that name.1. Jesus who became the Christ2. An ancestor of Jesus Christ, evidently in his mother’s line. (Lu 3:29) Some ancient manuscripts here read “Jose”3. A Christian, evidently Jewish, and fellow worker of Paul. He was also called Justus.—Col 4:11.The Greek name has an equivalent Hebrew name. The Hebrew name is Yᵉhowshuwa‘ and translated as Joshua There are 4 Joshua's (Jesus) in the OT1. Son of Nun; an Ephraimite who ministered to Moses and was later appointed as his successor2. Owner of a field at Beth-shemesh where the sacred Ark first came to rest and was exposed to view after being returned by the Philistines.—1Sa 6:14, 18.3. Chief of Jerusalem in the time of King Josiah. It appears that high places used for false worship were located near Joshua’s residence, but Josiah had these pulled down.—2Ki 23:8.4. Son of Jehozadak; the first high priest to serve the repatriated Israelites following their return from Babylonian exile. (Hag 1:1, 12, 14; 2:2-4; Zec 3:1-9; 6:11) In the Bible books of Ezra and Nehemiah, he is called Jeshua

What makes the christian God more real than Zeus?

@Dave K: I totally agree there, i mean the christian god may be omnipotent but zeus has lightning bolts!
@athanasius was right: I have one problem with the bible and the gospels, the author, did God write the bible and the gospels? No, men did and said mens' opinion is no more valid than my own.
@boohyabu...: hmm, thats quite interesting that all gods might be be on and the same. But like you said believability is determined by popularity. So religion is basically one huge popularity contest
