Who Are The Possible Candidates For The Next Presidential Election

Is it possible for a Candidate to win by one vote in a US presidential election?

In theory, yes, in practice no. There are so many votes involved in presidential election that the margin of error will always be less that one vote. When you do a recount, you'll basically never get the exact same result both times. Even a margin of a hundredth of a percent would mean that you'd have a margin of thousands of votes one way or the other. If a candidate wins by less than that, it will be impossible to tell who won. (Anyone who remembers Florida in 2000 remembers the discussion of dimpled chads and ballots that aren't quite clearly marked. There's always some gray area). Now, the Electoral College is slightly more possible. The election, not uncommonly, can come down to one state. If that state is won by a one vote margin, that vote would determine the election. But even in that case, even if a state like Wyoming determined the election (unlikely) and was won by a single vote (incredibly unlikely), even a state that small gets about a quarter million presidential votes each election. The margin of error in counting those votes would still be more than one vote, which means it's literally impossible to determine a clear winner. Just like in 2000, it will come down to who runs the state, and how they certify the election results. If the governor is the brother of one of the candidates, that candidate is probably going to win.

Who will be the five possible Philippine presidential candidates for 2022?

BongBong Marcos - he has an effective political machine in grassroots level promising millions to his cohorts collecting voters data. Had an army of internet social media firebrands. Seemingly, endless supply of funds.Sarah Duterte - she has been outspoken about it lately denying it on tv practically shouting she definitely wants it. She even strong-armed long time ally of his father and enlisted super-rich Macapagal-Arroyo. If she successfully got elected in Senate next year its likely she will run for President with her Father making a drama that she should not run and will later relent with his blessings.Manny Pacquiao - just right timing after hanging his boxing gloves maybe after bagging tons of money dancing with Mayweather next year. With a strong following from grassroot level, a sing-song from a wild animal lover could make him run for more money from government coffers.Grace Poe - Top vote getter in 2013 and will probably be reelected next year. Being in Senate will hedge her risk when running for President. Still has strong following from young people.Francis Escudero - still had strong following from young people and with his lovely second wife with him he will look more appealing. However, one thing I noticed since 1992 having support of the young people never won the presidency.

Which amendment makes it possible that a presidential candidate can lose the popular vote but still win the electoral vote and the election?

There is no nation wide popular vote. That is just a number the news media adds up and reports. National popular vote is not mentioned anywhere in the constitution or the amendments. It can't be won or lost because it never officially existed.

Who is most likely to win the next United States Presidential election?

As it stands today, it’s impossible to know.First, while I have my personal preferences on the Democratic side for several candidates those preferences are not yet strong. Why? I don’t know enough about each candidate and their positions, how they will fare campaigning and raising money, are the able to communicate effectively, etc. The field is ridiculously large and, for my taste, I’m not seeing enough substance out 75% of them. So, I can’t pick yet who will be among the last standing let alone who my personal preference is.Trump’s current troubles (Cohen, Mueller, NYSD, etc.) may put him in a position in which he won’t even be a candidate. The outcome can’t be foreseen yet. And there will likely be at least a few more moderate traditional candidates oppose him from his own party.Lastly, what is the mood of the public, really? Being in favor of progressive policies and actually getting elected is yet to be proven on a national level yet. And when a certain candidate said something about grabbing women by the, well you know, traditional thought would have said he was done but he still won. So, how tolerant is the American public of this new way of being a politician? I don’t think we know yet. Additionally, the demographics of the nation and even some swing states seem to be changing. Until we vote again I’m not sure we will know if the trend has broken one way or another.

Who are likely democrat vice presidential candidates for the 2020 race?

If a woman does not become the Democratic Presidential candidate, there will most certainly be a woman Vice Presidential candidate, mostly because it’s time. It will be an African American woman, either Stacey Abrams or Kamala Harris to seal and motivate the black voting base. Neither Amy Klocbucher or Kristin Gillibrand bring anything to the table. Elizabeth Warren, while bright and policy driven has an issue with like ability .

Can a presidential candidate win the popular vote but still lose the election? if so, how?

Yes.

Just look at the results of the 2000 election.

Basically, one candidate wins big margins in a handful of big states, thus giving him a lot of popular votes. The other candidate wins all his states by small popular margins and wins all the small states, which actually give you more electoral votes per popular vote.

That is pretty much what happened in 2000, with Gore getting about 500,000 more votes but losing the electoral count by a handful. Just think, if Gore had gotten only 500 more votes in Florida, he would have won that state and it's electoral vote and would have been president.
