Who Are Your Top 5 Underdogs In The World Cup

Does this year's FIFA world cup 2018 belong to an underdog team?

Looking at the fixtures in quarter finals, there are no clear cut favorites in 3 out of 4 quarter finals, only Croatia has an upper hand on Russia.Talking about underdogs, Belgium, Uruguay and England are the underdogs. These are the teams filled with players who can decide the game with a solo performance.Belgium has got Eden Hazard and Kevin DeBruyne who can both create chances and finish at their own and a stack of tall and strong players who can benefit from set pieces provided by KDB and Hazard.Uruguay has a strong defense and a front 2 of Suarez and Cavani and a mid-field of average players who give their hearts and souls in every game. They can be the underdogs to win this world cup.The England team is inspired by Harry Kane. A strong and lethal finisher upfront. Deliver a good ball to him and he’ll finish it what so ever. They have pacy wings, a goalkeeper in Jordan Pickford, who is playing in form of his life. Center backs from 2 Manchester clubs but the coach off course plays Harry Maguire and the guy is doing well so far.Than there are teams like Brazil and France who everyone knows are packed with talented players and are the 2 clear cut favorites to win the world cup.Sweden and Russia in my opinion have already achieved their best. I don’t see them progressing any further.

Who are the underdogs to watch out in Russia 2018?

I want to answer this mainly to stop the Egypt nonsense. Yes they have M.Salah, but their story ends there. In recent matches they lost against Tunisia, Greece and Morocco. Now I have to answer the question. There are two things to consider: the team and the draw.We can quickly discard Mexico and Sweden, good teams, but they have Germany in the group and a second place will match them against Brazil. Cruel for them. This also discards any crazy suggestion about Korea.Nigeria, Iceland also mentioned will not have a Cinderella story in this World Cup, they have to somehow survive the group against Croatia and Argentina and if they manage a heroic 2nd place they would face France. My three underdogs to watch are: Morocco, Denmark/Peru and Croatia.Morocco might surprise Portugal and might then have a chance to face the winner of group A, probably Russia or Uruguay. So they do have a shot to advance to quarters. Difficult but not impossible.Denmark can easily negotiate a 2nd place after France in their group and they will face Argentina or Croatia and those teams can be beaten. The same goes for Croatia as long as they manage to win their group and evade France, then they will face Denmark and might have a shot to the third round (quarter-finals).If you think Russia is an underdog then they are also in my list they have a very easy group stage and then chances to play Portugal or eventually Morocco. I wouldn’t consider the locals underdogs and they are likely to advance to 2nd or 3rd round.

Why hasn't England won a World Cup or Euro Cup since 1966?

Simply not good enough, don't have the player's, if you look at most of the team they only look good for there clubs because the foreign players make them look good with the exception of rooney maybe gerrard but their ain't much more talent there. Also if the 66 world cup wasn't held in england they wouldn't have won it. Another thing is that the up and coming players just want the lifestyle then the Football.

Who are you supporting in the 2018 FIFA World Cup?

I was originally supporting these guys ( Obviously)USMNT- US Men’s National Team.Image source: GoogleThey ended up like this in the qualifying stageImage Source : Google. They could not even make it to the 4th spot which was a minimum required to have a shot at the World Cup. The top 3 qualified automatically. What a complete disaster!. Honduras made it to the 4th spot and had a playoff with Australia to see who gets the final green light and Australia it was who qualified for the WC.I went for my second choice after USA tanked in the qualifying campaign-Image Source : GoogleForza Italia!Guess what? They failed to qualify as well . End of my childhood hero Gigi Buffon’s career .To answer the question, Who are you supporting in the 2018 FIFA World Cup?I would say, particularly nobody. I really have no picks and will watch as a true blue neutral. Since I like underdogs, I will want some team from Africa or Asia doing well at the World Cup. I am tired of the big dogs from Europe dominating FIFA events . I would be happy to see a non European team win but I am not particularly passionate about the results. The best I hope is that it will be an interesting and a fun World Cup to watch. The best part of not qualifying for the World Cup is you are saved the heartbreak of the World Cup exit during the world cup itself . LOL. Smart move , TEAM USA! Very smart. Thank you for lowering our expectations and saving us massive disappointments. We don’t have to chew our nails for a penalty shootout or fret about getting out of the group stage. We just are gonna sit home and eat our donuts and pizza and beer and watch 31 teams end up being disappointed. LMAO.
