Who Can I Call To See If There Is A Ticket On My Driving Record

Driving record?

I have a ca driver's license and I currently live in Washington. I have recieved 3 speeding tickets in the past 6 months and I have checked my CA driving record but I saw that I have nothing on my record. I am going to get a DOT deivers license and I was wondering how they check driving records. Do I report that I have three if they have not showed up on my driving record? Is there another way they check driving records? How long fo tickets show up on a personal driving record?

How to erase speeding ticket from my driving record?

You will get a courtesy notice in the mail, which will give you your options. Simply, you will pay the fine (around $200), sign up for traffic school (another $40 or $50), and when that is completed the ticket will be dismissed.

BTW, Sandy is wrong. Traffic school DOES result in a dismissal of the ticket. Veh C 1803.5.

Marco's girl is also wrong. There is no number on your ticket to call for traffic school. Further, if you go to traffic school before signing up to do so with the court, and paying the fees, it will not count and you will just have to do it again.

How do you find out your driving record?

Well, you've got some strikes against you, you are under 25. But there is some good news too, usually they only ask about accidents and tickets in the last 3 years, so perhaps the accident can be ignored.

You have an absolute right to see your own driving record, so head for the DMV or whatever they call it where you are, the place you get your license and plates, and run your record. It will cost a little of course, but get it and you'll know what your record looks like and what your insurance agent will see.

As far as how much you drive per year, the average is 12,000 per year, or about a thousand miles a month. What you can do to get an idea is drive normally for a week, see how many miles you drive in that week, then multiply it by 52, weeks in a year to get some idea.

If I might suggest, go find a local independent agent, tell him what you need and be upfront with him about your driving record, and let him search his data base for what would be the best bet for you. And continue to drive safely.

The only ticket on my driving record is a speeding ticket for traveling 110. Is it possible to get that removed in Texas or will it just always be there?

“I wasn’t speeding, officer, I was traveling.” OK, all kidding aside, there’s no simple way to have a citation removed from your record. I assume you actually have a ticket prior to this one. In many states you are offered the option to complete an approved traffic school course, often available online, which will substitute for a fine and will remove the ticket from your record. You can theoretically only do traffic school once but there are circumstances under which you can do it twice, for example, if your first time is when you were a minor you might be able to repeat as an adult.Eventually, the information will simply disappear from your record as long as you don’t have continued violations, and even then, these things usually go away after about three years. (This varies from state to state.)I suggest you order a copy of your driving record. In Texas you can do this online at How to Order Driver Records. Do this periodically and see first if the citation appears and then monitor every six months to see if it is still there.

How does getting a parking ticket affect your driving record and your insurance premiums?

Most of the times, it is only Driving Violations like speeding, tailgating, wreck less operation, DUI or DWI and rash of accidents that are your fault that really effect your insurance.  Exceptions might be due how hard it is or it is not to get a parking space and the amount and or frequency of your tickets. Usually, even with those that are newly insured, they have no rise policy for those that experience an accident now and then.  If your parking tickets are now and then and you have a generally good relationship with your agent, parking tickets would not be detrimental.

I got pulled over by a cop but did not receive a ticket. Is it still on my record?

Depends on what you mean by “your record”.Your criminal record? Your driving record? No. There is no ticket or violation to put on your record. However, just with your local department, they will maintain a record of your contact with police. This is just a record showing who the police have had contact with and for what reasons. Everyone the police deal with are in this record. Whether you are the complainant who called the police, someone being stopped by the police, or the culprit in a crime caught by the police. This record is not some national database. It is nothing against you personally. It is just used by your local department, each department maintaining their own separate record. It's just used so that officers know who they have dealt with before and for what reasons.Driver: My tail light is out? I didn't know that Officer. I'll get it fixed right away.Officer: Hmmm I see that you have been stopped for this same tail light 8 tines in the past month. Sorry sir but you are getting a ticket.
