Who Can See You Once Were Or Are Receiving Welfare/medicaid

Welfare food stamp/cash assistance/housing fraud?

There's a man amd woman, married,(the husband is out on state parole)(the wife if convicted faces her second welfare fraud charge) The woman has four kids to four different dads and a set of twins to her husband, she receives cash assistance for all the children and partial cash assistance for herself, she also was receiving the maximum amoumt of food stamps for her reported family size, she was living in subsidized housing, without reporting her husband (who was recieving roughly five/six grand a month back(applied for soc sec or ssi and fought his case for about two years and finally won his case)pay plus regular monthly ssi benefits, all the while having a friend of theirs on ssi, also unreported, living with them. Basically welfare and housing authority were completely clueless about the extra income from her husband or her friend. She was finally evicted when housing caught her, and the department of welfare is investigating her as well. Wooo...sorry long winded :).
So what kind of charges/trouble is she and her husband in for if they are convicted of the fraud they commited? My hope? They are convicted and put away, and any money they earn or are given through commisary in jail is taken away until they pay off all the money (food stamp value, cash assistance total, and costs of all medicaid services rendered to the family) that they received. This has to be one of the biggest cases of fraud and waste around. Makes me sick to my stomach!

Anyways...predictions of the scope of punishment, and your own personal opinion of these leeches are welcome...

Another pregnancy medicaid question!?

I was married when I had my last two but my husband's job didn't offer insurance and I stay home with the kids so I had to apply in NJ. I don't know about where you live but, all they took here was the HOUSEHOLD income (if you're not married you don't have to report your bf's). They just took my husbands and as long as it was under $100,000/yr I qualified and the babies automatically qualified for the first 6 weeks after birth. We did not have anything held from tax returns, etc and they never went after him/us for anything. I think with how many employers are no longer offering insurance, there are a lot more options out there for pregnant women and children. I would also google social services for your county and state. That should lead you to a website with the information you need to know. Or go on your state website b/c that is who offers Medicaid. GOOD LUCK with the pregnancy & obtaining insurance.

Can I have Medicaid and get food stamps too?

Yes, as a matter of fact, it’s just about unusual to see someone receiving Medicaid who is not also receiving food stamps. Usually, anything that’s considered state assistance is taken care of through one agency (The Division of Social Services or Family Services Division). The same place that you signed up to start receiving Medicaid, is also (usually) the same place you would go to sign up for food stamps. In our area, state funded Child Care, Child Support, Food Assistance, Health Care, Services for the Blind and Temporary Assistance (TANF or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families/cash assistance) are all signed up for through one system, (or handled at one agency). The same information you provided when you signed up for Medicaid, is the same information Social Services would review to qualify you for food stamps.Individuals or families travel to one building in our area to turn in applications for all of the services listed above. Because applications for all mentioned above are available on line, the application can be completed and printed out ahead of time. They would then be dropped off with any other requested information, (read on line instructions) at the Social Service facility. You should hear something regarding your approval in one to three months.

Unemployment and Medicaid?

Hi,
I have two kids and we are currently on Medicaid. I was recently approved for unemployment benefits of $450/a week ; only for 15 weeks. Now I have to reapply for medicaid, and I guess I will not be approved, because my income with my wife's income will exceed the NJ income limit.
I need to know if this temporary increase in income can cause my case to be denied?
Also I need to know how much it will cost me to buy health insurance for all of us? I have one of my kids with a serious heart problem, and the other one is 6 month old and I have to get insurance at least for the kids.

Finally, please pray for me to find a job. I hate this unemployment and medicaid things, and I hope I can find a job with insurance benefits to support myself and my family.

Thanks in advance

Medicaid/Amerigroup for 19 year old (sick)?

I'm a sick 19 year old. I had Amerigroup for over a year, as did my mother and 13 year old sister. I started feeling very nauseous constantly and unable to function when I turned 17. After gallbladder removal surgery, two endoscopys, one colonoscopy, and a gastric emptying scan, I was diagnoses with gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying). I started taking dissolvable Ondansetron and was able to control my nausea and function. Around the time the nausea started, I began having flare-ups of terrible joint pain and swelling. The pain gradually went away, but recently it's started coming back. I've also had severe tedon problems in both of my elbows, which has affected my ability to do, well, anything. Everything hurts, including writing and typing (which worries me because of school)

I've seen more doctors than I can count, and I'm still suffering. The last doctor I spoke to suggested I see a rheumatologist. That was right when my insurance dropped me, I'm guessing because I'm 19. My sister still has insurance, and I'm guessing my mom does too. With my arms the way they are and my stomach the way it is, I can't really work. (I earn 80 dollars a month from my church). And I just got accepted to college and plan on going full time, if I can manage it. Is there any way for me to get Amerigroup back? With student insurance I can't afford monthly payments of my Ondansteron or the co-pays for doctor visits... so that doesn't do me any good.

I'm trying so hard to just live a normal life, but it's so difficult with all these problems I have to deal with no treatment. Is there ANY WAY I can get Amerigroup back?

Can you get welfare if the dad is unknown?

Just curious about this. Suppose you end up pregnant by a one night stand and go and apply for state benefits. I know here in tx, you must cooperate to establish paternity. What if you have no idea who your baby's dad is and put down father unknown on the birth certificate? Will you be able to get tanf? If you do know who the father may be, do you have to wait until the paternity test comes back before you get it? Also, I know pregnancy medicaid if different than child medicaid. Once the baby is here, can you get child medicaid or CHIPS without naming a dad?

If you receive public assistance, how much do you work?

If you receive ANY form of public assistance(WIC, welfare, medicaid, low income housing, etc.), how much do you work?

My assumption would be that if you get any of the above assistance, you would work 40+ hours a week, but I'm not sure that's true.

I got denied Medicaid because my boyfriend makes to much. ?

OK, so let me see that I have this straight - you're shacking up with some guy, and because you refuse to stop having sex with him, you want the working taxpayers in your state to support you and your child - HIS child, instead of HIM supporting you, so you can have the luxury of staying home and being a full time student - a luxury that many of the OTHER working moms PAYING FOR YOUR WELFARE BENEFITS do NOT have?

Sounds really, really selfish and antisocial.

Birth control costs less than $20 a month. And a one year old does NOT eat very much.

Yes. They can, and will, deny you, based on HOUSEHOLD INCOME. And, they can go after HIM for child support for your baby, since, after all, the TAXPAYERS are currently supporting your baby, instead of him.

If you don't want more kids, stop having sex. That's what causes pregnancy, you know. And hormonal birth control - which actually acts as an early chemical abortion every month - is NOT 100% accurate.
