Who Cares More For The Poor

Why should we care about the poor?

Look we are not obligated to give money to the poor or to homeless we all have choices in life, and why should a hard working person give their money to lazy bums just to support their drug habits.

That's the problem with society instead of working for the things you want you have immoral people advising folks to give to the poor no you don't enable lazy behavior.

We all have the same opportunity to make somethings out of ourselves get an education and guess what if folks are poor they have nobody to blame but themselves people need to stop making weak excuses and take accountability for their own mistakes the world would be a better place it's so easy to blame everyone else but yourself.

Why don't poor people like working hard?

Should the rich in Singapore care more about the poor?

Going anonymous on this. And no. I am not a rich person by any means. In fact, I am living in a 2 room 40 year old hdb flat in our of the poorest estate in Singapore with my parents while I am waiting to purchase my own.Yes the rich could contribute financially for the destitute who have no education or prospect due to perhaps medical condition or certain exceptional circumstances. But no for the working poor. I have many relatives who are working poor. They could have had an education but chose not to continue after primary or secondary school. My grandfather would have paid for it. They squandered their youth having fun, drinking, philandering and not investing in their own future. Why should the rich bail them out? Education in Singapore is fairly affordable. While skills upgrade might not be a big game changer for poly diploma holder and above, it is for my relatives. Yet they have done nothing about it. So no. Not for them.Invest in their children instead.

Do people actually care about the poor?

It depends, and it is hard to know the truth.I would say it doesn’t actually matter. It doesn’t matter if someone doesn’t care about the poor as long as they actually do things to help them.If someone is giving me food or giving me a chance at life, but doesn’t care about me, it doesn’t nullify their good actions. Now if you mean on a global scale, like if people are actually trying to do something about poor people. Then that is a different story.I think, much like the people in prison, people think that people who are poor are cursed.Once you are sent to prison, you are marked and your entire life is destroyed. You can build it back up, but they intentionally make it hard for you to do so, and then you are more than likely to go back to prison. With being poor, banks make it hard for you to make payments. If you don’t have a certain amount of money in your bank, they charge you for it.Think about that last sentence, they charge you for not having money. We should be helping both of these people, but we are profiting off of them and that is a problem. In prisons, we are using them for slave labor. In fact, it is more profitable to send people to prison because we can then use them for labor with next to no cost.So we have no incentive to actually fix the problems that exist. In short, I want to say yes and no.I think some people do care, but feel to powerless to actually change the system that exists.

Do Democratic politicians care about the poor?

You can care in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets full first. Sentimental policy based on caring ignores the real-world effects of policy in favor of symbolism. More people receiving benefits isn’t success, it’s failure. More people supporting themselves and not needing government assistance should be the aim and effect of successful and logically-oriented policy. It occurs to me that the political parties are each aiming to maximize their base. People who want to receive money from government (the poor) tend to vote Democrat. People who want to avoid having their earned income taxed away (the more prosperous Americans) tend to vote Republican. Thus, assuming that politicians in general act in their own self-interest, Democrats want to increase the number of poor people and Republicans want to increase the number of those who are self-sufficient.

Among India and China, who cares more about the poor people?

http://chartsbin.com/view/3355The above is the Global Hunger Index. You could easily compare China vs India. The pluralistic, democratic and free India of course cares more about its poor people than the devilish, ruthless and despotic China does. Who needs to eat as long as they have democracy and freedom?

Why should anyone care about poor people?

I imagine the reasons are as varied as the number of people who care about the poor, and I don't think any one reason is better or more valid than another, if it is genuine and sincere. Now, why people go so far as to actually provide for the poor is another question entirely. In her book entitled The Virtue of Selfishness philosopher and author Ayn Rand rails against altruism, declares that no one should be forced to give anything to anyone, and equates welfare through taxes with involuntary servitude (slavery). She stated that all forms of welfare should be voluntary (private, non-profit), and that the government should not be in the business of financing peoples' lives. But even when you do give to the poor, what actually has been accomplished? The relief from poverty is fake, it's not real, and must be artificially and constantly sustained. The poverty is still there, it is merely hidden by the handouts.I occasionally give to the poor, and I can say that it doesn't do anything for me. It's like, "Here, I have some extra money today, you may take it, hope your life improves, if I could I would live your life for you...whatever." I suppose that sort of callous indifference makes me a horrible human being. At least I'm not trying to fool myself.

Do men care if a woman is rich or poor, has a job or is unemployed?

Personally no, I dont care how much money she has, or if she works or not.

But that said i wouldnt want to date someone who is lazy, so if their unemployed then their should be a reason, whether they do voluntry work, have to care for a family member or are studying or looking for a job. etc. As long as they do something with their time then they wouldnt have to have a job.

Moneys not a issue i dont mind being the provider for the right women. And if she has more money thats fine too.

The thing is its not about the having a job, its about what having a job and money implies, which is that your reliable, sensible, finacially responsible, willing to work hard, intelligent etc.

whereas if someone is having money problems or unemployed then this can sometimes be a warning sign that they may not be a suitable partner for you and to have children with.

For me thats the point your looking for a partner who will bring something to your life, and be a good for future children you might have and raise together.

Most people arent looking to date someone who will end up being like another child they need to take care of.

its more about the qualitys that person has, and you can have those qualitys and not be working or rich.

Why do poor students care more for marks in school and rich students care less?

This seems like a biased assessment, but I can give you my perspective with respect to poor students. I grew up in poverty and honestly didn’t have much time for school due to various hardships, such as taking care of my dying father and brothers/sisters. I always dreamed of attending a top-tier school to acquire better educational opportunities. I knew I would never be able to attend these schools because of financial reasons. My only hope to achieve this goal is to stand out academically. On top of that, many poor students are first generation college students. Their parents are either sick, deceased, or working several jobs to provide for them. It’s incredibly difficult to size up against a wealthier student who may have instant access to resources, such as parents with proven track records and academic connections. Our best bet to acquire similar outcomes is to study, study, study, and study some more. Overall, this pushes us to strive for academic excellence to increase our chances of obtaining better opportunities in life. Not just for ourselves, but for our family as well. Luckily, there’s extraordinary people in this world who are trying their best to diminish the gap of educational opportunity between poor and wealthy students.Long story short, we know we have to work hard and we’re hungry for success! Nevertheless, this doesn’t negate the fact that wealthier students care just as much to obtain good grades. Regardless of our financial status in life, poor and wealthier students both want to increase their chances of acquiring outstanding educational and career opportunities. After all, we all want to open the doors that we’ve once dreamed about as kids.
