Who Created Roleplaying

How do I start a Role-Playing Website?

There are a number of free forum networks out there like Yuku and Proboards that will allow you to create a forum for free. From there's, it's just a matter of creating a setting and finding players.

If you're looking to create a roleplay group on an existing community, you might try a site like http://www.roleplaygateway.com

Many roleplay sites die off within the first year. Being successful will require a lot of work. Make sure you know what you're in for. Check out http://www.theadminzone.com/forums for some great discussions with forum admins from all over.

Lastly, I ought to mention my own roleplaying website, http://stararmy.com - it's a space opera-themed forum-based roleplaying community that's been around for over seven years. It's a good example of a successful roleplaying website.

Is roleplaying as a god a sin?

No all Christians pretend to be God and know what God thinks and does.

How to roleplay?

Roleplaying is where you create a fictional character and interact with other writers' characters, usually online. The term "roleplay" is commonly abbreviated as "RP," especially in chat rooms and message boards.

Step 1:The "boss" of the roleplay is the creator, usually called DM (Dungeon Master), GM (GameMaster), or moderator. They have created the rules, forum, and (possibly) the scenario. If you don't like their rules, then you may have to leave. Their job is primarily to make sure that the role-play carries on and changes. Some are more hands on, others like to get the group to be creative.

Step 2:There are many different types of role-plays of many different genres. If you dislike one, you may find another you like better. Make sure what you write goes along with the type of role-play you're doing. Don't for instance write about casting magic in a 'future-tech/high-tech' role-play.

Step 3:In order to maintain a more enjoyable atmosphere, remember to treat others with respect. You will be treated with respect in return. Ex. Never curse someone out; it gets you nowhere
.
Step 4:Remember that you can only control your character (not those of others), unless you have the other person's permission. People are likely to be annoyed if you control their characters without warning this includes their Non Playable Characters (NPC's).

Step 5:In roleplaying, many people enjoy the "skirt" rule. "Long enough to cover the essentials, short enough to be interesting." This will mean what it does, but it usually means three or four sentences that give your fellow roleplayers what they need to know to respond while keeping it short and sweet.

Step 6:In literate to semi-lit roleplays, length can be an issue. Many advanced roleplayers expect several paragraphs. If they are the GM (Game Manager), the person who made or is in charge of the roleplay, then, again, discuss it politely or leave if you can't write that much.

Step 7:Have a way that you can contact with your other roleplayer(s) on a regular basis. This varies for different people, so discuss it before you begin the roleplay if you think it might become an issue.

Step 8:It is considered good taste to notify the GM of the roleplay when you won't be able or willing to contribute to their roleplay for a while.

What are the best roleplaying sites and what makes them good?

Hello!I am personally part of a fantastic roleplaying site called Guilty Pleasures Roleplaying. It is a great place with lots of diversity and active members, which really means that there’s something for anyone and everyone. It is an 18+ older site, which means that it is adults only. However, it does allow for more mature themes such as gore, violence, and sexual themes to exist. Please feel free to check it out and ask me if you have any other questions! <3

What is the best site to create a Role Playing Game Campaign blog?

Less a site and more a complete campaign management application, Realm Works was funded through Kickstarter by the same developer who made Hero Lab.  It's currently in beta and should be available later this summer. Realm Works - Lone Wolf Development

D&D/d20 Modern: Can roleplay be integrated into character creation without damaging either?

This is a really creative idea!  Bravo to you for that, first and foremost. As for what would make it work: flexibility.  I would recommend giving them a brief overview, but not much more in preparation for the first session.  "We're playing in the Fallout universe; don't sweat character creation, we'll cover it together.  Just come with a character concept."  Something like that would be perfect. The key point to the set-up is character concept.  Sharp-shooting survivalist... silver-tongued crooner... weathered wasteland veteran.  The answers that they give during the "interview" section will reflect what they want their character be.  If framed well, the character creation process will feel completely organic and their characters will immediately be more than just numbers on a character sheet.  Difficulties of this method?  Well, it relies a lot on you.  Completely on you, in fact.  You're not sharing the load in terms of learning the rules, classes, perk system, etc.  If you're comfortable taking that responsibility, and you're confident in your knowledge of the rules, go for it!  Just expect lots of "how do I..." and "what do I roll for..." in the first few sessions.

Why is it that when I created a character for roleplay that was based off of myself, I felt as if my personality “drained away” into the character?

I’ve done this a few times (though not recently), and had noticed a similar result. I think the effect might be due to the changed perspective: instead of making decisions that affect you personally, you are making decisions that affect an other “you”…effectively, you are removing much of the passion and personal connection from the action, and making the decision from a more logical, disassociated perspective. Thus it feels like your ‘personality’ is draining away due to your disassociation with the decision and effect.Note, that is purely my opinion as a gamer with a almost-completely-irrelevant social science (anthropology) degree; I’m sure a psychologist would have a much better grasp on the subject, and so if one responds to this question please disregard my response in favor of theirs. Thanks for the question to answer!Question: Why is it that when I created a character for roleplay that was based off of myself, I felt as if my personality “drained away” into the character?

Looking for a good combat or naruto roleplay site?

Im looking for a roleplay forum thats active where the roleplaying is based mostly on combat, with created characters or Naruto characters. I do not want sites where people post like
"Naruto: Hi how are you? *Shakes hand*" i want at least a semi-literate site where the roleplay is written in what I call story form which would be like
"Blocking the kick from Kiba, Naruto twist his hand around to grab onto Kiba's shin, pulling him towards naruto so that he aim a punch directly into kiba's Jaw" that is a very small post but its just an example, also I dont want a site full of god-moders, know when to let your character get hit, or when he cant use jutsu anymore, and know when hes defeated.
Anyway...Any suggestions people?
