Report her to the police at once. If she is this sick, that she will not feed you, she is sick enough to turn this around and make it look like you are a common thief. Record your requests of her for food secretly on your phone, record what you eat, what is in the fridge and cabinets and do it for a couple weeks.You are not to be treated like this. Chances are, her funds are from a combination of Pell grants, Perkins loans, and Direct Loans. They are meant for students who need additional funding to get through school. They can be used for living expenses that allow the student to attend school. So, she could be using the fedearl funds to pay for a place to live, etc, and spend her own money on a trip to Vegas. I'm pretty sure there's no law against it, though it is quite irresponsible considering the interest rate on the loans.

Whenever a Republican president is asked why he hasn't been able to cut deficits, he'll say something about welfare and food stamps, hinting that this is the reason we can't balance the budget. The fact is, welfare has never been more than 1% of the fed. budget If it disappeared altogether you wouldn't notice the difference. And, thanks to pres. Clinton, it's much harder to get welfare and to stay on it more than a short time. The GOP strategy is one if 'misdirection'. Get people all upset about the poor 'stealing' from us, and they don't see the REAL problem--it's the RICH who are stealing us blind, not the poor. 90% of welfare in the US is CORPORATE welfare.
What to do about people who cheat the system?
I have several friends/family members who are on government assistance. I am not. They have new cars and the most expensive phones and computers---how is this so? The things they buy and own are way nicer than anything I have, but I am the one clipping coupons, budgeting and doing meal plans. Is there not some kind of check-and-balance system? What stops someone who is on government assistance from going out and buying a car they can't actually afford (without the assistance) or other items that they can't actually afford? What do you suggest be done?

They're usually in the financial news for some new scheme or extremely low moral character that isn't quit stealing but it's elaborate fraud.In a sense there is inflation theft from the hydra as they can borrow at the Fed Funds rate (lower than anyone else can get) and buy up assets with a higher return bypassing depositors. This money materizes from cyberspace and inflates the money supply so your purchasing power goes down and theirs goes up… not quite stealing but the elements are there.They can work with the corporate cronies they underwrite to merge monopolies and drive up stock prices. Once prices are high enough, they can unload on slowly on the public, pocketing the gain. When the smoke clears, the market reprices and the public loses most of their retirement, homes, cars, etc. So once again not theft since you bought into it… fraud is a better word.As a finally, they might fuck up the market so bad that narrowing might not be an option. But it's not a problem, just hold the entire economy for ransom and use your political prostitutes advised by your corporate cronies and banker buddies to pick the public up by the ankles and shake am out for the spare change in their pockets via bailouts.Promise never to do it again and then do the exact same thing but bigger the next time.
