Why did Russia leave the Allies after World War II?
Russia ( Joe Stalin) figured to spread it's sphere of influence over countries it had occupied beating the Germans back to Berlin. The only communist country at the time was the Russians so they would spread communism by not leaving the countries they occupied. When the intent was understood the world was not ready to go to war again to beat an enemy that had just helped them beat Hitler. Gen. Patton was relieved of his army command for just stating plainly that he should use his army against the Russians. Having read the others here they are obviously too young to know what really happened. the history of communism started with the U.S.S.R. unfortunately it didn't end there.

Either way the United States enters on the side of Israel. It starts out conventional, the biggest surprise early on is that Turkey pulls a page from Italy’s WWI play book and sides with Iran, not formally at first but when things play out a bit later.Nukes Fly between Israel and Iran…nothing world ending yet, and I’m not touching on who fires first but, it’s new territory now that it’s the first time they have been fired in anger in 100 years…The fallout literally and figuratively pulls in more nations. Pakistan throws in with their Iranian neighbor, making a land war an even more daunting quagmire for the US and her allies. Depending on the type of President, the US is either reinstating the draft and arming the nuclear football or thinking of a way to sell a peace with honor…Either way, as more Carrier groups and assets make their way to the region, North Korea sees their chance and attacks the south. It’s a bloodbath and now WWIII is officially on.Unrest grips Europe, fueled by the economic crisis the war brings and tensions boil between cultures. Russia, like NK but smarter, sees their opportunity and invades her former satalites to provide stability in these trying times. Like China (who “helps” occupy Korea after radioactive dust settles, they will not go into open war with the Allies but will make gains while the world is distracted.Who wins? Who knows, but in this scenario the world as a whole losses.

Sgt Moto is correct, Japan declared war on Germany and Austria very early in the war, and seized all of Germany's Pacific possessions, then cooperated with Britain at the seige of Tsingtao. Later, China would declare war on Germany simply for the opportunity to be on the side of the victors at the peace conference, in the hope that they would have assistance in keeping Japan from taking too much Chinese territories; the hope was not successful. Britain would not turn against Japan until the early 1930s when the USA demanded a closer relationship with England at the expense of Japan.
