Who Do You Think Would Be Better At Playing The Trumpet Ronaldo Or Messi

Is Messi's new jaw dropping salary bad for football? Is he overpaid?

Hahahaha, forgive my disrespect, but is Lionel Messi overpaid?Absolutely not.Lionel Messi is one of the few players left in the world that deserve such an astronomical salary. He is clearly one of the best players to grace the game, he has won so much for Barcelona, transforming them from an ordinary top tier team to one of the best teams in world football history. He’s won the treble twice for Barcelona, he has been stellar season after season, including this season, and on and on.Messi is at the point of his career where everybody in the world, any player in history knows that either he is the best or among the greatest. The entire FC Barcelona club staff, board and the players know he is the greatest asset Barcelona possess. Plus he is extremely loyal, in short, the perfect investment for Barcelona. Some things just can’t be factored into research.Signing him on for such fees was normal, and I don’t think anyone ever felt surprised or thought he deserved less.As for the current Barcelona squad, I think there isn’t anyone in the team that dislikes Messi, or feels he is overpaid or overrated. And I think that if there was such a player, he had better be someone who could score 91 goals a season; Someone who could win 30 trophies, otherwise there’s not a soul in Barcelona that would turn against Messi. The real question of overpaying and dressing room unrest should be directed at European players in China, who have somehow made it amongst the richest footballers in the world while possessing half the skill as the others in the list, notably Carlos Tevez, who earns a staggering £615,000 weeklyUPDATE: Carlos Tevez used to earn that incredible sum, as of 6th January, he has left China for Argentina and so the richest footballer in China is now Oscar.

What is the point of debate when Messi himself said, in many of his interviews, that he is not the best player?

There’s no point arguing over it.But I cant sit down and watch people humiliate players who play for the club I support. I am sorry but I can’t do that. But then there are people who choose to bring emotion over facts and reason and use big words to describe how Messi is superior to everyone else. How there are no flaws to his game. How he drags Barca to victories and how his less talented Argentine teammates pull him down. Then there are some who call Ronaldo a freaking goal machine. I remember one writer who used that phrase for him in an article last year. Since then Ronaldo haters have latched on to that saying how he is just a machine and can only score goals. No mention of the fact that he is the topmost assist maker in Champions League and second highest assister in La Liga. There are some who flaunt Messi’s overall goal scoring ratio forgetting how Ronaldo played for six years in the Premier League, a far more competitive league where scoring goals ain’t easy. Unlike La Liga, even the top goal scorers in EPL don’t exceed the 30 goal mark. Also, Shearer has 260 goals from 500+ apps in 18 PL seasons. Ronaldo has 285 goals in 268 matches in La Liga. That should tell you something about scoring goals in both the leagues.

What are your experiences of cutting negative people out of your life?

I remember calling her my best friend when I was 12.We used to share all sorts of things- hobbies, common discussions about life, studies, and all what teenagers share. In short, the level of compatibility was at a different level with her.She was my best friend forever in school, at that time. We used to talk about everything and anything under the sun. For hours, on the phone, right after I returned from school.I think I liked her as a friend. I respected her. We remained inseparable for almost 3 years. It was then that we had to make a decision on where we wanted to go with respect to our future. Choosing subjects when we were 16 to decide what we want to become when we grow up.The school shuffled our sections, as we had chosen different career paths. I missed her terribly. We still called each other everyday, and used to meet as frequently as we could. It was one day that she decided that I am too boring now. She took me to the ground during recess, and gave me a thousand reasons as to why we shouldn't hang out anymore. Apparently her new friends didn't like me.I was taken aback. I thought we were inseparable. That day, she became the negative person in my life. I convinced myself how it wasn't worth getting sad over this friendship and the friend who changed ways when a minor inconvenience happened. There was no looking back. I made new friends. And cut her out of my life. For me, cutting negative people has been a blessing in disguise. It tells you the value of people who stay. And most importantly it gives you the courage to be stronger in life.

Tenor vs Baritone? Who is better?

I think no voice types are better other than one. The one voice type I think is the best is by-far tenor. However, in reality it depends. The reason why the tenor voice is better than baritone and bass is because it’s the voice that can get the girls, so many songs to sing, leading roles in opera and musical theatre, sing so many gigs, sing so much high notes and retain the upper octave, plus they make all the money. In reality none is better than the other. Then again despite the fact I enjoy tenors more than the baritones and basses, there are great baritones and basses out there. Also this is not a who question this is a which question. But as such I am happier as a tenor even when I began singing as a baritone. Another reality point is that there is so much competition all over the place so there could be possibilities that baritone is better than tenor when it comes to how competitive it is to some people but to me it kind of depends on which kind of singing competition is attended. As such in reality it really depends on the range, tessitura, passaggi, and peaks which comes directly from how many years you have sung in your life. That includes past time experiences with singing but not limited to, the amount of vocal training, choral experience, and when it comes to opera and musicals the acting skills as well.

How genius is Messi?

I used to play trumpet professionally. Hence, when people ask “how good is Wynton Marsalis?” or Hakan Hardenberger or Alison Balsom or James Morrison or Geoff Payne or Maynard Ferguson I never know how to answer. To me, some of the things these people do that non-players take for granted are just mindblowing (pardon the pun). Similarly, people think I'm being a pretentious prick when I say Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis were great musicians, but not the greatest trumpet players in the world. Also, I am not implying (in that criticism) that I am better. That's dumb.Anyway, I think Messi’s genius is something that general punters like me can obviously perceive, but only elite players really understand. Ignorant fans like me see the goals, players see the vision, the tough decisions, the sheer f-ing timing that makes the rest of the best in the world fall on their asses with a hesitation dribble - that is not something they have never defended before, it’s the context that he uses it in that is just ridiculous. At the end of the day, there's not much that Arsene Wenger has not seen in football. When someone of that caliber is reaching for ridiculous rhetoric in broken English I think you have your answer.
