Who Else Would Support Each State Having To Fund It

Termination of child support?

i dont know all details because its not my case but what does it mean if the state you live in terminates child support and sends a letter stating it has been terminated and if you send in any money it is returned.

Paying Child Support In Two States, same child...help?

My question involves child support in the State of:

Colorado/Kansas & Texas...

(This is really screwed up, but this is whats going on and I don't know what to do to stop it, ANY advice you can give me will be beneficial and I thank you in advance)

THIS WHOLE POST IS FOR ONE CHILD ONLY

Basically my ex lived in Colorado, this is where the ORIGINAL SUPPORT ORDER was issued and i was paying child support to when things were "normal"...

My Ex then moved to Texas...so for some reason Colorado then turned the case over to Kansas where I live now...

Kansas/Colorado is still charging me for child support
AND
Texas also has been charging me with child support...

The balances for both keep going up the same amount EVERY month for the SAME ONE CHILD, but oddly enough they are different amounts for this same child... ??? ....

For one child I am making payments to Kansas & Texas for over a year now!! How is this legally possible and what can I do about it and get my money put in the correct place. Please help as I have kids and a wife in my home and its very hard to take care of them if that extra money is just being put "somewhere" especially this time of year...and shouldn't I be able to get back what I have paid to Texas OR Colorado since I am paying TWO states for ONE child...

Is it possible that my childs mother maybe didn't report to the prior state she resided in that she moved out of state and is basically collecting two payments for the same child?

I don't know if this matters or not, but I am married and have two children (not related to my ex) in my home full time....Please, Please any advice??

Do you support McCarthy's bill that would fully fund Trump's border wall?

Thank you for the A2A.I don’t support building Trump’s border wall, for the reasons people have already mentioned, but I would support it under one condition. The condition is that the bill include a provision for the Dreamers to get their green cards. The wall idea is dumb, but its cost is a pittance in the context of the Federal budget ($5.5 billion upfront, out of a $4.4 trillion budget), and McCarthy’s bill would have the money coming from other parts of the Homeland Security budget. Moreover, within two years, good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, it could be completely defunded.Meanwhile the Dreamers are in limbo. They are just as worthy as they were when everyone was talking about them, people who have been here almost their whole lives and who make good citizens. But who talks about them now? Almost no one, since the Democrats frankly decided to throw them under the bus rather than horse trade with the Republicans and Trump (I’m very angry at the Democrats for just dropping the issue like they did; after all, they’re supposed to be the people who like immigrants so much!). A Federal judge has stayed Trump’s order to end DACA, but that will most likely be overturned on appeal. And then the deportations will begin.

Child Support Issues in Illinois?

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do especially until he actually does some of those things, most of which I doubt he will do anyway. He is threatening an awful lot of action to avoid his responsibility, especially when the chances are good that he will be able to avoid child support anyway. I am have seen many guys do it.

I am assuming you both are adults (if not, then different laws apply). While Illinois has gotten better about pursuing deadbeat dads, unless you go on public aid, sadly, there is not much interest in or resources committed to catching them. I believe the other writer is correct about income taxes and possible wage garnishment (if they find him).

If you do get child support awarded, make sure it is paid through the court, not directly to you. If he fails to pay, he is in contempt of court. Keep records of communication, etc. starting now. IT wouldn't hurt to consult a lawyer familiar with family law.

Hope it helps and good luck to you.

My ex-husband is behind 12,000 dollars in child support, court orders do not matter to him. what can I do.?

He has been in jail numerous times for this and still refuses to pay. We are again in court. He has the ability to make around 18.00 and decides he wants to make 5.25. Will the judge go for this and just let him work for 5.25? He is also on probation for the same thing and the state seems to be to busy to take care of it. What else could I possibly try to get the dead beat dad to be held accountable for his actions?
But let me assure you that he's the first one to be here when it's time to see his children,as long as another man(stepdad)is the one supporting them in every thing they do financially.

Why do I have to pay child support when I have never had DNA testing nor have I ever met or been in contact with or had any relationship with the alleged child?

My ex-wife and I got divorced when my son was 4 yrs old and I was in the Army. I had visitations to a point. The judge informed me that my child support would be $168. a WEEK! I got on the bad side of the judge when I ask, “Why so much?” He motioned me to step forward and placed his hand over the microphone and said, “Sergeant, You have a room, food and clothing that the Army gives you. You will pay the support for your son to have the same.” That judge died a few years later! I paid on him without regret until he turned 18 all through AFDC and it came straight out of my military pay without me seeing it. My visitation lasted til my Ex-wife met a real loser and moved to another state without notifying me. That was about two years later! I tried to find him through the courts and since I was paying through AFDC [a federal agency] the court told me, through my Attorney, that she would have to O.K. AFDC to give me her address. I found out when he was 18 where he was and went through family court for a ‘TERMINATION OF CHILD SUPPORT’ motion. When we went to court he was there. He told me that his mother had told him that I was killed in Vietnam. Since he received the summons to appear, he and his mother have not spoken. After court, I found out that I had a grandson and my grand daughter was on the way. We have gotten closer over the years, my son, his wife, my grand kids and now a great grand son. I met my Ex once lately and her response was, “Why couldn’t you let it be and stay DEAD TO US!!!”SHE’S A REAL BITCH from HELL !!!

When my childs father files income tax will i get my back child support? ?

If you have signed up through your county child support office, usually located in the courthouse, then its possible. It costs $25 here in our state. They have to send a form to the IRS requesting an offset. IF he gets a refund and everyone has done their job, then yes you will. 13,000 dollars is a felony..have you been to court?

What would happen hypothetically if all 50 states declared themselves independent nations? How would each fare?

Making the assumptions of a peaceful and mutually agreed on breakup of the United States, I guess it would depend upon the relative economy of each state (I’ve heard that California were it independent would by itself be one of the world’s richest countries, but imagine poorer states might find themselves almost third world countries) and whether the former states formed any sort of free trade agreement, EU style single market etc. 50 separate states with borders between each is likely to provide significant barriers to business trading between states. There is also a likely knock on effect for the world, given the dollar is the world’s reserve currency and a lot of NATO relies heavily on US military support for their defence. I imagine a lot of military spending might well end up being curtailed as the new nations find it difficult to sustain their budgets, then again, that could be a good thing in terms of there being less wastage or questionable military interventions destabilising certain parts of the world. But that will in itself have a knock-on effect for those states whose economies and job markets rely heavily on defence contractors.
